Solano Sings The Praises Of Newcastle and Gutierrez

Nobby Solano has today talked about Newcastle’s new signing Jonas Gutierrez, and he thinks it’s a great signing for the club.

Nobby Solano – still loves Newcastle and their fans

Nobby was speaking from his holiday in steaming hot Miami, and he told the Evening Chronicle today:

“I loved my time at Newcastle and wish Jonas all the best at his new club.”“He can be a big success there after playing in a strong league in Argentina and then again in La Liga in Spain.”

“When Kenny Dalglish signed me I did not know too much English, but Newcastle is a great city – and once you are settled, it is up to you to do your job on the field and work as hard as you can for the fans.”

“I liked it so much I played for Newcastle twice!” “It is always great to go back there because I have many, many friends in Newcastle.”

Solano has been linked with a summer move to Portsmouth and Harry Redknapp, who always was a big admirer of Nobby, after the Peruvian was surprisingly released from West Ham, following the one year contract he signed after leaving Toon last August.

Nobby is almost like a global ambassador for our club, since he’s always saying how great a club and city it is at Newcastle. We appreciate that.

Solano really seems to empathize with the fans at Newcastle and maybe we’ll see Nobby back in the future as a coach or even as a manager, if he goes into that part of the business and does well.

We do expect Solano to manage Peru at some point in his future, but right now we’re sure he’s still looking to play a couple more seasons somewhere.

One of the three promoted clubs, WBA, Hull or Stoke, could do a lot worse than sign Nobby up for a couple of years.

Comments welcome.

August 2005: Deportivo La Coruna winger Albert Luque signs five-year contract at Newcastle United and promptly expresses his delight at the move: “I’m very happy. I’m excited. It’s a great place to play. “I’m looking forward to playing in front of the Newcastle fans.” July 2008: Real Mallorca winger Jonas Gutierrez signs five-year contract at Newcastle United and promptly expresses his delight at the move: “I cannot tell you how excited I am to be joining Newcastle United. “The Premier League is a great place to play and I cannot wait to meet my new team-mates and prove myself to the Newcastle United fans.” Sounds uncannily similar, does it not? It’s almost as if they were told exactly what to say by the very same over-zealous press officer.

Bring Nobby back! He would be a brilliant squad player and is still one of the best dead-ball specialists in the league.

Id love Inler, been endorsing him on here way before he euros nd he didnt let me down.

£4mil is a bit cheap for him, closer to £8mil i recon.

Wonder if Nobby knows of any good Sth American players? He could be a scout and ambassador for us based at our “London office” 🙂

A true professional and gutted when he went to Villa.

Nice team Dan Toon. I know Rat’s good and all, but I reckon Enrique will grow into a legend at left back if he keeps his place.

    Perhaps the two could compete….

Any Newcastle team with Nobby in it is a good one!

Still remember that peach of a goal he curled in from the outside of his right boot on the edge of the box!

On an unrelated note Jeff Vetere thinks Jonas is twice the player of Milner on FM08! 😉 Gotta love the editor! Have Aaron Spear in as well, may have overcooked the potential rating though… copied rooneys stats/tricks and divided attributes by 2 (apart from the ones that dont change), Current ability 40 Potential ability 191! Comes out as 7 stars for potential according to Jeff! He is the next Rooney like 😉

Or is that in looks or in playstyle? 😉

Oh Nobby we love you!!!! What a great player he was for the Toon! He always caused danger with his intelligent passes and his crosses (Shearer also loved his crosses 😉 ).

rlw – I think comparing the words of Luque to those of Spidey is so silly. I think they all say that they are excited when they have just signed for a new club.
The same goes with oh that player from that team we bought was rubbish so let us not buy anymore players from that club. (e.g. Cuellar and Boumsong). They all are different characters and they all need to settle. One takes longer as the other to settle and some never settle (e.g. Luque). But that doesn’t mean that any other player will not settle cause he is Spanish or Portuguese (Viana). Grow up man!

It’d be nice to see him back, perhaps for a desk job after his playing days. Maybe even as a scout?
