Bolton Dismiss Barton Loan Rumors

Bolton Wanderers have today dismissed the reports that have said they are lining up a move for Newcastle’s jailed midfielder Joey Barton.

Joey Barton – Bolton shoot down rumors

Barton of course is currently serving a six-month prison sentence for assault, but will likely be released in a matter of days.

We expect him to then probably start pre-season training, but he will need to wear an electronic tag, and will need to meet with a Newcastle delegation before that, when Newcastle will need to finally decide what to do with their troubled player.

Bolton chairman Phil Gartside has categorically denied his Lancashire club will be entering any negotiations with the 25-year-old troubled play-maker.

Gartside said:

“It’s important that we get back to being the homely, family club that we claim to be,”

Barton last week was also found guilty of assaulting former Manchester City team-mate Ousmane Dabo, for which he has received a four-month  sentence,  suspended for two years.

Barton will be meeting with Newcastle officials once he gets out of jail, and we suspect Newcastle will be willing to give him a second chance.

We think if they were really going to sack the player they would have done that by now.

Not many teams would be willing to take him in any case, since their fans would object to any move for Barton.

But we’re also not sure if giving Barton another chance will backfire on the Newcatle club again, should he get into more trouble, which we think is more than likely, unfortunately.

Comments welcome.

Sell him to Bolton, not loan. We’ll get at least 70% of our money back and get rid of the little shite at the same time!

He has no where to go. He’s dug himself into such a deep hole, he probably has no options now but to accept whatever clauses/ conditions NUFC put on him to remain at the club.

Personally, I wouldnt have him anywhere near the club even if he was paying us. NUFC will tie him down tighter than a hog roast.

How come when Bowye and Dyer had a fight, they didnt get sacked and it was live in front of the stadium of Villa Park! Thats more embarassing! But I still think he embarasses the club also and gave us a bad name and be deserved to get sacked from the club!

Just how big are these tags and will he have to wear it whilst he is playing. I am probably wrong but I seem to recall in there early days people had to strap them to their leg and were quite bulky.
I believe he was ordered to do community service as well anyone any idea what he has to do.

Sick to death of Barton, the bloke takes his life style for granted the dumb shit doesn’t know how lucky he is playing what he loves best. I say get him into a normal every day job working 50 plus ours a week for pittance then he will realise what he has and how lucky he really is. Self centred ignorant twat with no respect for himself or anyone else GET RID.

he’s dug himself into a hole with nowhere to go but he can stay at toon for next 3-4 years on 60k a week and afraid theres nowt we can do about it
who was that guy at chelsea on 60k a week for sitting in reserves, they tried to sell him on numerous occasions and he wouldn’t leave unless they paid his contract in full – afraid we’re in same boat

Steve, they can sack him mate, Chelsea did it with Mutu for failing a dope test.

Barton is also a dope, but for some unknown reason the toon want to keep this one. Beats me why!!!

Perhaps we can ditch him on Hull, West Brom or Stoke. I doubt they’d have him though. The man’s an arse.

By the way, thanks a lot Bolton, it was the dickhead manager we got off you that bought this criminal. You could at least have the decency to make amends and take him off our hands.

    @BillF,

I don’t know how big they are, but apparently Pennant has the honor of being he first player to take to the field while wearing one, so its been managed before. Personally I think if you fitted it around his mouth would be he best bet.

Beattie lol, that would be funny if he was wearing the mask and standing eyeballing one of the opposition, licking his lips and saying “I am going to eat your liver and wash it down with a fine bottle of wine” (can’t remember exactly what is was, Rioja?).

Bil, I think you’re confusing the electronic tag with the ball -and-chain, mate – a similar device from an earlier era which might still work with our scouse chav.

    And it is chianti (fsssfsssfssssfsss!)
