The Sunday Sun is reporting today that Newcastle fans should have no doubts that new signing Jonah Gurierez has a big heart - if his childhood is anything to go by.
Jonah Gutierrez - suffered paralysis as a 5 year-old boy
Jonas was named after the biblical Jonah, who lived three days and three nights inside a whale, and survived.
When our Jonas was growing up in Buenos Aires, in the 1980s, his mother noticed something odd about him, and it was worrying for any mother.
Gutierrez, who turned 25 just yesterday, told the Sunday Sun today:
“When I was a very small boy, I developed a paralysis down the left side of my body.â€
“After a while, the doctors advised her that I should try to practice some sport or sport as therapy,â€
“So I began to play football.â€
But after a while, what the Argentine doctors had hoped would be a temporary condition, persisted, and it had his mother, Monica Gutierrez, seeking advice on how to help her son overcome the disability.
This all happened back in 1988 when Jonas was just 5 years old, and since then he’s devoted himself to the great game of football.
Gradually Gutierrez was able to overcame his condition, and even in those days, he was a very good player at the junior level, where he started first playing with Estudiantes.
Jonas played junior football for both Argentinos Juniors and River Plate — before he signed for Velez Sarsfield, as an 18 year-old, in 2001.
So Jonas has already shown tremendous courage, to be where he is in football, given his troubles as a youngster, and he praises his mother for it all:
“It’s all down to my mother.â€
Good for him.
We are really looking forward to seeing Jonas play for Newcastle United.
And we’re also sure that Jonas, his mother Monica, the Newcastle United club, and the tremendous Toon Army, will be only too happy to have Gutierrez be a terrific success on Tyneside . 
We cannot wait!
It also seems like Jonas is a great role model for the Newcastle youngsters already.

Yahya Ahmad, It wouldn’t because although they may have the financial clout! Its the hole stigma of Bin Laden THE TERRORIST! NUFC are already a laughing stock of premier fans we would be hated by the world if this happened!
I in previous blogs have said if Ashley sold the club I would love Arabs as owners such as DIC!! as they are very professional and would turn newcastle into a world brand!

Good news sky sports are sayin that spurs are keeping Lennon. I wouldline Inler i really want this guy to sign. I think he is only slightly behind Mascherano and would be one of the best signings KK has made EVER.

HPS I think it’s more Sh**e. I think Keegan came back to Newcastle because Ashley sold it to him. He told Keegan he had money to spend. If KK was forced to sell any of his star players he would walk. Tom Toon, amongst out entire squad Martins is probably THE most difficut and costly to replace. Also, had we have attempted to sign Ashton (which I don’t think we would now) that would be a replacement for Viduka in a few months.
Selling players like Martins, or - say- Zog, woud make us that little more predictable and ordinary, Thankfully KK is not the type of manager to want an orthodox side and you can see that from his first signing.
Mind you, a new orthodox holding mf would be nice right now!

i would hate to get rid of st james, but something like the emirates would be great news, anyway i have just been playing a round of golf with the bloke i work with, who lives next but 2 to spears gaff, and who was also on the same course but aaron spears step dad. got chatting on the 8th hole as we were just about to overtake him, as he is shite. and he said aaron is over the moon about signing for us, and that michael owen had a chat with him, and sold newcastle to him.
i think that is a real nice touch knowing we are getting the likes of mo to tout newcastle to young talet, what does everyone else think?

Martins isnt really easy to replace! He is probably one of the best strikers we ever had got! Alsohe is Shearer’s replacement! So who else do you think would take over as Shearers replacement if Martins goes!

Ahmad… Martins one of the best strikers we have ever had, you gotta be Joking right?… How can he qualify to come before Shearer, Milburn, Davies, Supermac, Hughie or Even Sir Les?… No way mate, but he is a good player to have and he is properly in the top 50 of best strikers we have ever had.

For years Newcastle fans complained about Shepherd’s ‘trophy signigns’ and how we should look for quality on the way up rather than signing the big names on the way down.
The club have gone about sorting this by employing a quality scout to help us find players who he thinks can go on to be top players in a Newcastle shirt yet the fans don’t want that now.
They want the big name trophy signings again.

I would like to see 1 - 2 so called up and coming trophy signings that have quality and experience with creativity and speed to sign to show that we have ambition!
but IMO we need a good clear out Smith, Duff, Ameobi and look to replace Geremi, Viduka, Cacapa!! I feel we need 10 players to compete at the top level!!

On the club sale issue… MA has not taked us to where i thought he would and with his ambition of winning the league within 3 years seeming less and less possible i could see why we should be sold… The constant media speculation about our clubs future dosnt come out of nothing either, and we have just got actual quotes that tells us that MA is trying to sell, so it would give some stability if we where to get some owners that didnt see us as a short term money machine… However, Bin Laden is a name that has been soiled by Osama, and if they where to buy us, i am sure that the club would suffer in some respects… Also, even tho i love St. James, there are just to many problems connected to the ground by the surrounding area, and a new stadium would properly be needed to expand if the club grows.

There wont be any trophy signings because the big players want champs league football or at least uefa cup football. If kk tells the team not to make any tackles throughout the season there is always the chance og the intertoto through the fair play league. could even win the intertoto twice in the space of 3 seasons. That would be special.

Does anyone really think we need a billionaire owner to have the club run in a self sustainable way?
I want no trophy signings, but I just don’t see a reason to want MA to stay.
He wants profit, so let him sell the club to someone who loves the club. The new owner doesn’t need to be a billionaire, he just need to be a true toon army. Ok, I am dreaming…
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate what MA has done a year ago. He saved us, at least according to Chris Mort. Nonetheless, I just don’t think MA is doing enough to install the stability that the club needs so badly.
