Newcastle United’s 18 year-old youngster Frank Wiafe Danquah has signed a new two-year professional contract with the club.

The Dutch teenager started at the Ajax Youth Academy, and played a full season at Newcastle last year starring in the Reserves and was coached by Reserve Team manager, Adam Sadler.
Frank was called into the first-team pool for the final game of the season at Goodison Park by Kevin Keegan, but he didn’t make the substitutes bench.
Nevertheless, that was a sign of recognition for the player from manager Kevin Keegan, who watched almost every Reserve team game last year, home and away.
Speaking on his new deal, young Danquah said today:
“It may have taken some time, but I finally got what I have always to achieve: earn a place as player in professional football.”
His agent Winnie Haastrecht emphasizes that Frank is of Ghanese origin, but does hold a Dutch nationality.
“I hope he will now get a Holland Under-19 call up,â€
Danquah started his career at Ajax, and he played for the amateurs of FC Omniworld and AFC before he made his move to Newcastle. He is eligible to play for Holland and he has a decent chance of a callup for the Under 19 team, as his agent mentioned.
He played very well for the Reserves last season, and the club have high hopes for him, and is yet another one of our top young players.
We have quite a few of them now, and most of them will play in our Reserves side next season, and it should be the youngest Reserve side ever, in Newcastle’s history.
Those games will certainly be covered on our site - after all, it’s the young players who are the future of the club.

With the lack of experienced players coming in I think a lot of the youngsters will get a chance to show what they can do, I only hope they are as good as people say they are, if not we are in trouble

Frank looks to be a top yough player from the reserve games i got to last year, and having a player with links to so many nationalities can only be a good thing (unless of course you’re yorkshire cricket club) in that other players will almost always be happier to play for a team when other nationals play there.

We need quality NOW. Not youngsters for the future. A lot of our targets are chosing other clubs. The Champions League is a big draw but I do not buy into the claim that the EUFA Cup is that big an attraction for players. Most games are played in tin pot grounds watched by 10 thousand suppoerters. So clubs in the Eufa cup do not have that great an advantage over us. The real reason is that we are either not being aggressive enough with the transfer fe or the wages are not enough. Perhaps Kevin does not have the star appeal of 10 years ago. When we ssee somebody we really want we should make sure we get him and not offer the going rate and see what happens because as is being shown, we will probably nnot sign him. Get your fingers out NUFC or suffer a dismal season. I do not want to keep reading we have signed another juvenile who may be great in 4 years time.Quality now please.

I bloody well hope we sign more than 3 or 4. That wont put us in Europe unlless they were Ronaldo, Gerrard, Puyol, and Torres. We need at least 5-6 first team additions, and another 4-5 youngsters. I believe we really need a top LB, and CB for the backline, with a back-up RB for Beye. We need alot in midfield as our only actual CM is Butt, Geremi aint a CM, Barton is enjoying shower time, and both N’Zog and Mil are too offensive to play there. I would sign 2-3 CM. 1 DM in Inler hopefully, a box to box like Sidwell, and a goalscoring type which Sjkilbred is. Then I think our wingers are fine now, but we do need a high scoring target man. I still hope for Gomis, but Derdiyok looks more of a prospect than a high scorer, Gomis has proved he can score when Derdiyok looks more to assist which is fine, but we need him for both. Then get in some youngsters that can push these, maybe a few south americans. How nice would it be to find the next Fabregas and rob him from Barca hahahaha. Im dreaming …….. when in Rome

Worths a shot signing Frank Wiafe Danquah. I think KK won’t make useless moves. This must be someone that we’ve been expecting. Without proof, we never know if he’s a yay or nay.

This was agreed in May he would get a new contract along with my mates lad Darren Lough(1 year). It’s old news that broke again yesterday from some website. A few of people on here had not heard of him, and thought he was a new signing. Great fans!
