Reports That Kadar Signs For Norwich In Loan Deal

July 15th, 2008 · 236 Comments

There are reports coming out of Norwich, that our 18 year old defender Tamas Kadar, has been signed on loan by the East Anglia club.

Tamas Kadar, after signing in January

Newcastle’s Hungarian Under-21 international defender Tamas Kadar is reported to have signed for Norwich on loan today.

While it’s not yet official, it wouldn’t surprise us at all, since both Kadar and one of our other top youngsters, 18 year-old Ben Tozer, have both been told they will be sent out on loan this season, to Championship sides.

The details of the loan are not yet known, but the former Zalaegerszegi man, who joined Newcastle last January, would follow Matty Pattison (and maybe Shola Ameobi eventually),  to Norwich City.

Once former Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder took over as manager, he also took Lee Clark, as assistant manager, on the coaching staff.

Kadar, 18, made his first team debut for Zalaegerszegi at the age of 16, and he was called into the full Hungary squad in May of this year, but injury (which he still has) stopped him making his full international debut.

While at Newcastle, he has impressed greatly while playing for our young Reserve side, and the club has great hopes for him in the future.

Kadar, who stands 6′2″ tall, can play at center-back or left back, and is very highly thought of, within the Newcastle management.

This will be official only when it’s reported on www.nufc.co.uk or the Norwich City web site, but we feel this would be a good move for both parties.

Comments welcome.

I really hope these young lads are developed properly AND given the chance at first team football. I hope once he comes back, he is a regular in the NUFC rotation.

Good move for both of them, hopefully will earn them some valuable experience

  • 3 Hadrian // Jul 15, 2008 at 18:56

roeder bloods the youngsters, will be great experience for him .
maybe newcastle should think about setting up ties with some sort of feeder clubs .

Must be true, his Wikipedia site says so. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamás_Kádár
    :-P

  • 5 Bimpy474 // Jul 15, 2008 at 18:58

I dont think this one’s a goer, reason being Norwich have Adam drury at lb and have signed Ryan Bertrand from Chelski on loan to compete with him for that position.

Mind you a loan for Kadar would do the lad good to get 1st team action at a decent level.

  • 6 ToonTimbo // Jul 15, 2008 at 18:59

Its good to hear he is going on loan to a big championship side for next season!! I havent actually ever seen him play so who could he be as good as??

  • 7 GraemeR // Jul 15, 2008 at 19:00

This just makes buying first team players even more of a priority. Whilst buying up young talent makes sense we need to build the first tema squad or risk doing a C Palace and having the likes of the spuds using us as a development club.

NE1 know what happend to the Emre transfer?? It looks like we may need him this season.

  • 8 Ever seen a mackem in Milan? // Jul 15, 2008 at 19:05

It will be good to see how he does in a real game situation instead of the reserves. Good move for us if he moves there on loan.

He;s a genuine guy, i talk to him on facebook:)

I’ve thought about that before, I think you can only loan 2 players to the same club in this country but that doesn’t apply to other clubs in Europe, something similar to Man Utd do with Antwerp would suit us best.

  • 13 potts // Jul 15, 2008 at 19:40

How divvent be stupid… van der vart is NOT gonna sign for the toon … would be nice like though… dream on guys.

  • 24 Alex // Jul 15, 2008 at 20:24

Forget van der vaart guys , it was reported in the dutch media today that he is Hamburg s captain for the new season

  • 25 Hammy // Jul 15, 2008 at 20:28

Wow…is this going to be another fruitless week in the transfer market???? I’m sooo underwhelmed it’s untrue anybody else wondering why Fulham bought Zamora off West Ham? he’s cack…..

  • 26 DC Magpie // Jul 15, 2008 at 20:33

Also reported that Real had placed a bid in for VDV’s services. Either way he aint Toon bound.

Shame but it looks like Granero joined Getafe a couple of days ago. He would have been an excellent signing.

  • 27 Tom_Toon // Jul 15, 2008 at 20:36

Alex - He has been HSV’s captain for the past 2 seasons. Are you from Holland?

What about Vlaar for a cb, if we can stop him being so injury prone :)

  • 28 Andy // Jul 15, 2008 at 20:43

anybody else heard nicky butt may be off to hull city and that we are apparently in talks wiv franck quedrue after he was released by birmingham? Quedrue wouldnt be bad on a free and then get insua on a loan…and a right back…and a centre back…and 2 midfielders…and a striker..and get rid of smith…and n’zogbia…and cacapa…and ameobi

  • 29 Frankieboy // Jul 15, 2008 at 20:46

remember Roeder started at the Toon with the kids and was a success. He has a knack of bringing the best out of them and to me is better suited to working with the young ones like he did with the young gazza when Roeder was Toon captain.
Either 6 or 12 months out on loan and Kadar could be ready for the big time.

  • 30 Tom_Toon // Jul 15, 2008 at 20:48

If we are replacing Cacapa with Quedrue, it is the equivalent of replacing Gold with dog shite (Quedrue).

  • 31 DC Magpie // Jul 15, 2008 at 20:58

    Cacapa aint going nowhere. 5/5

He’s got a year left on a lucrative contract and no one who could afford his wages will be coming in for him.

    Quedrue can get lost.

And I seriously doubt Butt is going anywhere…would make sense he we had been on the ball and snapped up a younger better replacement but since we haven’t…he’s staying also.

  • 32 DC Magpie // Jul 15, 2008 at 21:00

God if we start the season with Geremi, Butt and Duff across the midfield I will cry.

  • 33 Alex // Jul 15, 2008 at 21:03

Tom Toon they announced it because they have a new trainer and he is keeping him as captain. As for vlaar he is not better than we already have and yes i live in Holland but born and bred in ashington.
Keegan should make a move for Aissati from PSv he wants a move , Ajax are already in talks with him ,if we move Quickly we could defiantly get him he is better than Engelaar and afellay and they were in the dutch squad at the euro s

  • 34 Matt // Jul 15, 2008 at 21:06

Hull are signing Boateng so I can’t see them signing Butt too.

  • 35 Ross // Jul 15, 2008 at 21:11

completly off topic, but were any of you lads at T in the park this weekend? the toon were heavily represented, shirts everywhere!

  • 36 Ben K // Jul 15, 2008 at 21:19

DC Magpie, what a terrifying yet plausible midfield for the first game. I think Milner will be put right back into the side though.

Just as terrifying is Owen being left on the PK’s!!! He didn’t miss any last year, but he also didn’t miss any keepers either. Unfortunately I’m not sure who in the side would be reliable - except for Joey Barton.

  • 37 Gateshead Mag. // Jul 15, 2008 at 21:28

    Just thought lads.

Who else was supposedly after Turan?

    Juve and Milan?

Juve have said they aren’t gonna sign anyone else and Milan are gettin a player who plays in a similar position and I doubt he’d get a game their either. There’s always hope boys.

  • 38 shearer4pm // Jul 15, 2008 at 21:28

some spanish links that i thought of in my spare time…

dragutinovic - after him last year, sevilla just bout to sign squillaci so he prob wont be a regular 1st teamer, cheap, well worth a 2 yr deal imo

colocini - obv reasons versitality solid player,

ayala - no he aint dead yet lol, cheap still hungry for the game, model profesional and much needed experience

ivan riki - lookin for a move, could prove to be crap, could prove to be a very ueful signing, 3mil whats a summer without a gamble

maxi rodriguez - useful player, skilful on the ball, may be a little pricey but would defo be worth it imo

luccin - again linked last year relagated with zaragoza looking to leave 1.5m bargain

and one to shock people……rafael sobis very talented young player, would cost in excess of 10m and again may be a gamble but one that could pay dividents

neways there my opinions, i feel all are actually realistic (boater and stev) and i feel all would bring somthing new to the squad

  • 39 shearer4pm // Jul 15, 2008 at 21:33

  • 43 daiv // Jul 15, 2008 at 21:39

Anybody think we are linked with relegation or Championship players or reserves like Liverpool? Joke . we are NUFC.
Some on this blog have stated we are skint. Wrong. We are the RICHEST club in the Prem. We have no debt. Man u have a £800M debt. Arsenal has a £300M debt due to their ground. Chelsea’s debt cannot be described. Its phenominal. WE HAVE NO DEBT. We are not skint. The problem is that our owner will not spend any money on anyybody. All the money from the savings on the sales of players, the reduced wages, the TV money, is going straight into his pocket to pay for his failed Sports company. At least fat Fred backed his managers. We are left with crumbs and some on this blog think MA has done well. Saint Mike. Ask Kevin if you can get an answer from our invisible manager ( King Kev who must be really hacked off with the owner)

well worth watchin good digs at arsenal and chelsea right at the start and the whole thing jus rips it out of manu veryy good well worth a watch

  • 45 daiv // Jul 15, 2008 at 21:51

We have no debt and so NUFC can afford anybody. We are scraping around in the basement of signings with youngsters and anybody we can steal cheaply off other clubs because MA will not put his hand in his pocket because he wants all NUFC profits for his ailing Sports Diresct company. if you can’t see that you are blind. We are the richest club and are behaving like hartlepool. Shame on you MA.

  • 46 Alex // Jul 15, 2008 at 21:54

    Daiv
if Keegan was hacked off with the owner he would have already walked away. it is getting a bit tiresome all the doom and gloom mongering that the likes of you keep keep driveling.
TRANSFER WINDOW HAS ONLY BEEN OPEN A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND WE ALREADY HAVE 2 NEW FIRST TEAMERS .THERE IS A LONG WAY TO GO BEFORE IT CLOSES .WE WILL SIGN MORE PLAYERS >GIVE THE GUY A CHANCE!!!!

  • 47 havanaclue // Jul 15, 2008 at 22:02

    reserves beaten 6 - 2 off benfield

  • 48 daiv // Jul 15, 2008 at 22:04

    Alex
Give it a few weeks and lets see whether King kev walks away.
Some on this blog must be related to MA because they think he has done a great job. God help us. It seems to me he has bought the club and written off the debt and the done nothing. since then. I do not watch “no debt” but players. They are not coming in in the quality I would like and MA will be in trouble come September at the ground if he does not put his hand in his pocket. He’ll have to sit in the box upstairs. me and my many mates feel we have rumbled him. We are there at the ground but where are you?

  • 49 Paul R // Jul 15, 2008 at 22:05

Here is the report for the reserve / youth side match

    http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~1344782,00.html

  • 50 Ben K // Jul 15, 2008 at 22:08

Daiv brings an interesting point about the use of debt to bring in signings. ManU is a perfect example, but don’t forget about Leeds. Calling NUFC the richest club in the premiership is a bit off target; Chelsea are bankrolled by a man far wealthier than MA.

  • 51 Paul R // Jul 15, 2008 at 22:12

does any one know wher you can get local hero as a ring tone ?

  • 52 Warwick Hunt // Jul 15, 2008 at 22:24

On the day of the Birth of my 3rd Son I had hoped to come on this site and see not one negative comment from half empty glass merchants, but alas they still rear there ugly heads. No-one knows what is happening at NUFC except Bona Fide members of the Board and the recruitment team, no club leaks, no sources close to the club, no media hacks, NADA.
Just because we have signed 2 unknown (to me)players and are said to be interested in other young players doesn’t mean we haven’t got irons in the fire for more established experienced players.
MA has been a blessing for our club after the last regime. As stated by a poster earlier we have no debt and are looking to the future.
    Have faith.

Agreed. Duff is useless. Any chance Smith might score 30 league goals this season? After all he has to justify no goals and no assists all last season. Perhaps KK can get him to score 40 goals. KK is good but do you believe he can get Smith and £1M players to compete against top 4? A miracle manager. I believe he’s great but not GOD. • 93 Bosck // Jul 15, 2008 at 23:43

daiv, mike ashley has not got a failed sports company it still made quite significant profits this year. yes they were down from last year but it was still a profit.

how you can call an owner tight, who pays £100m out of his own pocket to clear our debts, is a total joke.

as andy t i think it was pointed out the other day mike ashley is estimated to have around £1bn if you take the £250 million out that he has already invested in the club, this leaves him with only £750 million which although still a massive figure is still not too much in football equivalent terms. in reality mike ashley has already spent around a 1/4 of his fortune on the club, and while i expect him to invest in players still. he cannot just invest the rest of his fortune ad hoc with no planning or consideration. he is trying to build success from the ground up which is always the best way to do so. do you really think chelsea are a great team? i guarantee you when abramovich leaves they will be relegated in 3 seasons max as they are totally unsustainable.

mike ashley wants to invest in players and is willing to do so, which is why he is also looking for additional partners to help him do so. so please cut out the negativity towards mike ashley as your claims have absolutely no base in fact.

Black ansd white tilI die…. just disillusioned with MA.

  • 102 AndyT // Jul 15, 2008 at 23:55

    Daiv/HPS

Do you know the difference between revenue and wealth? Do you know the difference between profitability and liquidity and what that means in the context of possible cashflows? Have you actually looked at the accounts and worked out the revenue, wealth, available cash. If the answer is no to one of those questions then the simple fact is that you do not know what you are talking about. Cash has been pouring out of newcastle united since 2005. The club made losses in 2006 and 2007. In 2007 the loss they made was more than they spent on transfer fees meening it cost more to run the club than they earned. It doesn’t matter if you have the fifth highest revenue in the country and no debt if your opperating costs are higher than your income.
Is Mike Ashley a saviour - absolutely. He might not be the only person that could have saved Newcastle United. But I can tell you hand on heart that if someone had not in some way put several tens of millions of pounds into the club over the last 12 months it would right now be doing a Leeds and trying to sell players and as a PLC everyone would have known about it and so they would have probably been sold below their market value. The alternative would have been bankruptcy, a ten point fine and an administrator apointed to find a way out.
Yet your biggest gripe about the current owner is not even that he isn’t spending enough of his own cash on your entertainment (which to be honest right now he could have given every newcastle fan in the world a tenner and be better off and have a much better reputation), but that you are lining his pockets with the money you spend on the club, which is utter tripe.

Now to actually get around to one of the points that you do very validly make. We are one of the highest earning clubs in europe. We have the potential to be one of the richest clubs in Europe, but it wont happen until the club gets a grip on the money that is going out, i.e. lower wages, not overspending on transfers (still spending, but making sure its good value for money), in fact all of the things that the current management are doing.
To put it in simple terms, if you earn £100 a day, but pay £90 a day in taxis to get to work, the bloke that earns £50 a day and gets the bus for a fiver is richer than you.

  • 105 daiv // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:02

    Andy T
You are just another apologist for MA. Sorry but he just making excuses. He came her talking of overtaking MU. He read the accounts when he bought the club or if he didn’t more fool him. Now he claims he is a poor billionaire who cannot afford the club. Then get someone in who can.

  • 106 tom tomb // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:04

NORMSKI- sorry I did not get back to you yesterday mate. It was the posting about the young french lad. I went to kip.
BIG — respect to you -I was a bit handy too and it seems trivial now ,but not then.

  • 109 Chris // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:11

Andy T and Bosck, 2 of the best posts tonight . Daiv, yours are all tripe, keep whinging mate, but i’d rather listen to these lads that can actually see things logically than to take the huff cos Shepherd isn’t spending our money on overrated crap!

  • 110 tom tomb // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:12

ANDYT - I made 25 million before tax last year. Please be my accountant! Just kidding that is a well explained post ( I made 7000 pa so did not trouble the tax man)

  • 113 normski1930z // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:17

if this thing about aimar is true(which i hope it is) i still think we really need the midfield enforcer, an aimar protector if you will…thoughts??

  • 114 Chris // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:17

Jeffa, even if it does go to print, would you believe the Mirror.
I can see it now. Ashley and the team “well lads, we’ve kept everything hush hush up till now to keep the press of our backs, but lets just tell the Mirror that we’re signing Aimar just to undo all our hard work”.
    Yeah right!

  • 115 Ally // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:17

  • 116 AndyNUFC // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:17

  • 117 tom tomb // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:18

  • 119 tom tomb // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:21

    NIGHT LADS!

  • 120 Matt // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:21

The thing is Chris there is only so much the club can keep quiet from their end, they can’t do anything about what agents and the selling team are saying.

    Ally - AIMAR TOON STAR

I like the sound of that.

  • 121 AndyNUFC // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:22

In response to Normski/Ally. I really don’t think we need an out and out defensive midfielder. Literally a box to box central midfielder like Barton/Guthrie would do the job for me. For me, the defending stops at the back line. If you have a good enough defense then you can concentrate on the other half of football, attack. Having a central midfielder (Barton), attacking (Aimar), and wingers (Jonas/Milner/Duff N’Zogbia) is a mouth watering prospect to provide world class strikers like Owen/Viduka/Martins with chances. Phillipe Albert, could defend and attack a bit, fit perfectly into KK’s team. I want attacking, exciting, and easy on the eye style play next season, not concentrating on holding midfielders.

  • 122 normski1930z // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:22

cheers tom same back to you mate….

  • 123 AndyT // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:23

    Daiv,
You’re perfectly entitled to that opinion, but obviously I’m going to disagree.
I’m a disapointed newcastle united fan that would like to see us spending millions on top quality players, I just happen to work in finance and understand why we’re not. I can also see why the current policy probably means another (possibly 2) season of medicrity, but that it will in the longer run improve the club. I care about the club so I try to use my own expertise to help other suporters understand what is going on with their club.

If its any consolation I think Mike Ashley got a lot of shocks when he bought the club. I dont think he expected to have to clear the debt imediately, but a combination of the clauses in the agreements that meant that the banks could demand their money back if the ownership was changed, which they promptly did. The 2007 accounts are the ones that contain the 30 million pound loss. They weren’t available until after he launched his takover.

You keep saying he should sell to someone who will do better. One question. Who?

  • 124 Ally // Jul 16, 2008 at 0:23

yeah matt i just seen it on Setanta, i remember you saying something about the mirror tomoro so i made a point of watching the box for tomoros papers!
