Its not Edgar i’m worried about its Taylor, heard he almost cost us on 27 minutes today yet he never gets criticised. Edgar did a good job marking Ronaldo in 2007 I remember, I would be looking to use Taylor as cover at RB, he will never be a CB imo

Yes we cannot start the season with Edgar as our RB! Imagine the first game, he’ll be facing Nani most probably!

We need a young talented RB who can learn from Beye and look to be pushing for that spot towards the end of the season and the coming year.

Thought I’d post this here too, just to see if anyone’s still talking to me (and to find out the answers of course).

Good result for an opening friendly. Excellent morale boost for Duff and Duthie. On a less optomistic note, Edgar seemed a little inexperienced; Shola let himself down for a striker and Smith seemed invisible.

From KKâ€™s post match interview, you have to assume that weâ€™re not selling anyone (Smith, Duff, ?Ameobi) or we have to replace them as well as another 3 signings.

I could only catch up on the match from comments.
Did anyone see the game..?
How bad was Edgar?
Did Smith feature at all?
Was Nâ€™Zogbia happy at LB?
Which players ran with the ball at their men?
How did Milner do in central midfield?

Iâ€™d really appreciate some of these answered from an eye witness.
Any takers?

Andynufc.. I made some comments earlier in the week about expected signings by monday evening.. As i said, i was just relaying a whisper from a freind who trains horses.
I’m confident because he is fairly reliable..
(same guy who gave me jargelle in the 3;25)

Matt thanks for the link and Brave new toon thanks for the first hand perspective – I must say the last finish from Duff was stellar – and did I see poor Alan Smith with a bit of a nice pass to set it up??? Maybe too many pints and my eyes are goin…
Guthrie’s goal looked a bit of a well-placed mis-hit…but I trust he’s going to be a VERY welcome addition to the squad. Hope you’re right about Sunday BNT – although I’ll take the more pessimistic approach until I see it on nufc.co.uk!!
