FT: Hartlepool 1 Newcastle 4 – Great Duff Hat Trick

July 19th, 2008 by Ed Harrison · 92 Comments

hartlepool.png nufc-crest.png

Damien Duff was the star of the show today, especially in the second half, as he scored two of his three goals to record his first ever hat-trick for Newcastle United.

Damien has not had a particularly pleasant two years on Tyneside, and he has scored only two competitive goals for the club, one in each of the last two seasons.

So today, while just a pre-season game, it shows he may already have come under the Kevin Keegan magic wand, because we’re sure Kevin has told him he needs to score more goals at the club, and that’s exactly what he did today, and all 3 goals were well taken.

Some of us (like me), who think he should be moved on in the summer, may have to think again.  :D

But it’s credit to Damien who played all out, especially in the second half, and certainly on this display he doesn’t think his career is over at Newcastle. It also would appear that Kevin Keegan is starting to extract the best form out of the experienced Irishman, which is great to see.

Danny Guthrie made his debt in the second half and within 8 minutes had made a goal for Damien Duff, and then helped himself to another for a tremendous start to his Newcastle career. Danny couldn’t have dreamed of a better start to his career on Tyneside, and we know Keegan thinks the world of him.

Newcastle’s class really showed in the second half, but until then it was a closely contested game with Hartlepool going ahead after just 16 minutes, but it was a poor goal from Newcastle’s viewpoint.

Joel Porter sprung Matty Robson clear with a ball that went behind the Newcastle back four, and the winger shot nicely past the oncoming Shay Given. But we think the Newcastle back-line will need to look at what happened, because they seemed to be opened up far too easily.

Newcastle introduced youngsters 20 year-old Fraser Forster, and 18 year olds Ben Tozer and Callum Morris, for some first team experience in the second half, and they all had good run-outs.

This was a good performance from the lads, and we shouldn’t forget we have some very good players already in the squad, although everybody and their uncle knows it’s a very small squad.

Yes, this was also against Hartlepool United, who are not a PL team, but we think Kevin will be pleased with a lot of the performances he saw today, and while our squad is admittedly very small, it seems packed with quality.

We shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves, but after the trials and tribulations of the last 3 weeks, this is a promising performance from the lads, and we know Kevin has been doing his job over the last 2 weeks, that’s for sure.

Now to get those 5 new players into the club – will Arda be next?   :D

Comments welcome.

first post niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee nice one duffy

  • 3 NathanB // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:23 PM

A good solid start to the pre season but if we dont expand our team significantly for the start of the league we could come unstuck with injuries. fingers crossed KK has worked his magic on Duffer!!

  • 4 Oba's Mum // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:24 PM

A Great Start to the campaign, just what we needed after all of the tension around the club due to the lack of transfer movement

  • 5 Spuggy // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:26 PM

GO on Duff, if he can make it back to his top form he will be like a new signing. Don’t think he was really fit last season at the end, but KK has really worked hard at fitness over the last 2 weeks and hopefully these early signs that its working, albeit against a second rate team.

Great for Guthrie too! I think he could turn out to be the bargain of the season for us but lets see more before making a real judgement.

Now KK – go fetch a quality creative CM, CB, LB and maybe a striker (not absolutely necessary) and we’re set to fight for a top 6 finish, and play some great football. Once again the entertainers, keep optimistic all this seasons gonna be a cracker considering we just come out of a relagation scrap.

    Howay the Toon!!!

Ps – see Everton got thrashed 4-2 :-) and fielded a semi decent side (arteta got a run out second half), move over 5th spot he we come!

  • 6 ToonTex // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:27 PM

    I need highlites!!!! Video!!!!! Where!!!!!

    Howay!!!!

  • 7 broon ale // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:29 PM

now it’s important to remain grounded.,
i remember a certain Albert luque getting amongst the goals last season. we know what happend there

  • 8 shearer4pm // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:29 PM

nufc.com website, live match updates 56 mins : shola should make it four when he does everything right to work an opening for a shot after a clever dummy in the area, lee-barret is grounded and has the whole goal to aim at…sounds good right but wait, there’s more….BUT gets his feet in a tangle and mis-ques right at the last moment, the miss prompts chants of “if shola scores were on the pitch” from the toon army behind the goal

hahahahahahahahha oh shola, not really unfamilier is it

  • 9 Mike // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:30 PM

Hope Duff doesn’t pull a Luque… by that I mean play well in the preseason only to be transfered out off the Toon

  • 10 DanToon // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:31 PM

Careful lads, if you have a good pre season you usually go on to have a shocker when it gets official… a la last season! Plus it wa only Hartlepool (no disrespect) see what happens when we go to old trafford, no bigger test really!

  • 13 AltaBatalJoneN // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:35 PM

Does anyone know if we can see the goals on internet??

  • 14 ObaFan2 // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:35 PM

Time to get shot of Duff !!!! :D

Good start but it’s only H’pool and our first game, Suppose Cacapa was outta position for their goal? Anyone know? and I remember Smith had a good pre-season last year too.

  • 15 shirts // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:36 PM

Duff had all the injury woes and I remember him complaining about low fitness levels under Allardyce. He also often said that a lack of proper pre-season really affected him. Could he be reborn? I truly hope so. He would be like a new signing, as someone said earlier.

  • 16 Kevin // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:39 PM

On a different thread site someone mentioned it was Edgar who got caught out of position.
Well done boys – I personally agree with mighty Ed – Duff played a fantastic game but should go in the preseason – he’s definitately got talent in him but can he last a full season without getting a knock? Doubt it.
    Howay!

  • 17 bennit3b // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:39 PM

Sounding good, eventhough its only pool, if we can get duff playing well again it will be like a new signing

  • 18 KFroeland // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:40 PM

It would be absolutely brilliant if Damien could find his old self and finally play like we hoped he would when we bought him. Would much rather have a hard working irishman in the team than some wanna-be bling boy c*ck. I think Kev’s gonna sort it out though.

Really optimistic about Guthrie. That early positive experience he must have had today should give him some extra confidence and enthusiasm which he needs to get a good start to the season.

  • 19 The Entertainers // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:40 PM

Could it be that 52,000 NUFC fans have got it wrong?

I hold my hand up, i could not have cared less if we had sold Duff to another club, even the Mackems!

But as i’ve said before we have not underachieved due to a lack of talent, its just the talent itself is underachieving and letting us all down.

And while we shouldnt get too carried away we all know Duff can perform with the very best, he just needs to be consistant.

Just one note of doom…..i noticed Smiths name did not get too many mentions. And yes while its only one game and we shouldnt get too carried away with Duff, i suppose i shouldnt be too hard on Smith!

I’ll finish on a good note, well done Guthrie, this lad will play with a point to prove, no doubt!

  • 20 ObaFan2 // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:40 PM

    OK cheers Kevin

  • 21 alex scott // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:40 PM

    This game means nothing.

Duff has finally found his level of play.

Not got the pace for PL anymore.

  • 22 macakane // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:40 PM

Interesting how Milner succeeded in MC position, because in my opinion Milner could be a decent mc, he got quite good long shot, he`s good ball passer,he works hes socks off at every match, and if i aint wrong he is quite good with both feets. But as a winger he lacks pace, and quite often he lacks decent crosses.

  • 23 Hadrian // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:41 PM

his house is already on the market , we have supposedly pimped him out to most premiership clubs .
have we burned our bridges if we wanted to keep him?
or has keegan wanted to keep him all along .

thought him and shola were in the shop window there if im being honest , duff just might of gave us a big problem to think over .

  • 24 toonfan3 // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:42 PM

hey guys im new what number did guthrie wear?

  • 25 ObaFan2 // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:46 PM

BSA filled the team with no confidence, just his nonsense managing and we seen how long it took KK to turn it around.

Duff I thought did ok after Xmas when he came back from injury and maybe now that he’s fully fit we’ll see a different player.

Well done to the young Guthrie too.

This mini-touny we’ve entered will be good competition imo, hope we get to see some of it on the internet.

  • 26 Kevin // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:46 PM

Second the Entertainers – GREAT to see Guthrie come straight on and contribute. Matches like this will build the lad’s confidence and settle him with his new teamates. I can’t wait to see Jonas in a shirt ASAP!
Lads the most pressing issue of the remainder of the offseason is who on EARTH is going to take Smith and Shola from us? Smith can shove off far as am concerned. Couldn’t care any less about him. Shola, though, has served the club well. I want to see the boy play in a first team somewhere – but let’s hope he doesn’t get greedy for wages and keep sucking our club of money. I say we find the best tea lady in the Prem, and offer a straight swap for both of these lads.

  • 27 Toon Al // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:50 PM

    i think guthrie is 8

and cacapa is a lot better than most people seem to give him credit for all it took was one bad performance while injured and now all of england and most of us seem to think he’s shite.

    rediculas

  • 28 beye the great // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:50 PM

agree with entertainers but smith should be given a 2nd chance though a bigger squad

  • 29 Gateshead Mag. // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:51 PM

    Duffs third goal was cracking.

  • 30 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:57 PM

Exactly, Cacapa apparently had a good link up with given today and played well, i know it is only Hartlepool but if he could get used to the physical side of the prem then he is a class defender.

Guthrie played well and will shut up the “who the f**k is guthrie!? we have no ambition” lot.

I am delighted to hear Milner is playing in the middle, i have said for ages now that he hasn’t really got the greatest pace for wings but would be good in the middle. Hopefully thats his new position

  • 31 Albert Stigys // Jul 19, 2008 at 5:59 PM

    Toon Al –
God, Guthries only 8? He looks atleast 21!

  • 32 Gateshead Mag. // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:00 PM

I’ve always said to my mates Milner would be great in the middle as he’s not afraid to put himself about and he’s a cracking passer of the ball, He is quick though and he’s great at running at players imo. Has a lethal shot on him, would be great if he was to play in the middle next season for Newcastle United!

  • 33 valle // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:01 PM

Albert… No 21 is his number, he is only 8 years old mate ;)

  • 34 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:03 PM

Toon Al, the reason everyone thinks he is crap because of one game is because the media jumped on that one performance and really highlighted it, whenever people say Cacapa is crap that is all they ever bring up, ridiculous

  • 35 valle // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:04 PM

Well… I agree that Milner is good to have around due to his versality… BUT… I sure dont agree with people who think that he can be the creative playmaker we need, and i dont agree about him being a cracking passser either.

  • 36 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:06 PM

He will be dangerous in the middle because he can shoot with both feet, works hard, and he is good at pass-and-move.

  • 37 normski1930z // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:08 PM

yes i would defo keep milner but i still think we need at least two more midfield players…dm and creative am…

  • 38 Jude // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:11 PM

    I need Video highlights guys..comeon

  • 39 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:12 PM

we dont need a creative AM, we just need to play two CM and two Wingers. One CM sit deep and play a more defensive role, and the other will have more freedom to go foward, This way it ensures both our CM’s can defend when its needed. Half the reason we concede so many goals is because our midfield doesn’t defend enough, or they simply keep giving away the ball. why do people on here think we need to play a diamond midfield formation?…and even if we did play that formation Barton, N’zogbia, Owen, Gutierrez and Milner can all play AM

  • 40 Hadji // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:13 PM

I said in some previous posts that we should keep him,he has to rediscover his old form sooner or later. His injury last season was a major blow for his form.

  • 41 vin // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:14 PM

some of our preseason is on setanta i believe

  • 42 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:16 PM

i will always prefer to have two CM’s rather than a natural AM as we will have a more hardworking, battling midfield. The problem with natutral AM’s is they tend to be lazy when it comes to defending

e.g. if we signed Aimar, we would have only had one CM doing any sort of defending

  • 43 toonpipes // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:17 PM

I reckon cacapa class – unblvbl that he got so much s hit last year . . Close between him + taylor as to who partners faye, faye by the way is VERY VERY good imo . .

  • 44 The Entertainers // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:19 PM

    Spyro

I understand what your saying by playing with 2 cm and 2 wingers that can cut in and play very much like Arsenal of old.

However i still would like to add that creative player, someone we can turn to when things are not going so great or if we play 4-3-3.

And Newcastle fans love nothing better than a CM / FW. Ah the Beardsley memories come folding back.

I also completly agree with the Milner remarks regarding him playing a more central role.
As for Cacapa he is a very very good defender, however the pace of the PL does catch him out from time to time. But this doesnt mean he couldnt play against some of the poorer / slower teams. Thats not a dig at him its just horses for courses and why we need a bigger squad.

  • 45 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:21 PM

fair enough Entertainers, as a blogger your comments are always constructive, to tell the truth, i was waiting for someone to attack me after saying that last comment :D

in terms of that creative player we can turn to, why not Owen? he was fantastic in that position last season

cacapa for me can play against the better teams also, as he is smart enough to not always get caught out by the faster players. He just needs a fast defender next to him.

Its like what fernando torres said, the smarter defenders are harder to beat as they aren’t fooled so easily by a bit of movement

  • 46 macakane // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:25 PM

I agree with Spyro, and if Duff rediscovers his old form and Jonas settles good in team, we will have quite enough creativity in side, oh and we still have N`Zogbia, if he can overcome his awful idea to go to spurs and learn to control his pace, he could be great, but he still needs to grow as a professional. Oh, and we still have deep dropping Owen :D .

  • 47 ToonKing // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:25 PM

i share your view Spyro . I’m also a big fan of :

    —-GK—–
    RB CB CB LB
    –CM-CM—
    RM——-LM
    —ST-ST—-

that’s what we played back in the days and that’s what we should play now, at least on away days, at home we can use the 4-3-3.

  • 48 Gateshead Mag. // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:26 PM

We don’t need an out and out attacking midfielder, Aslong as our wingers are brilliant.

I agree full on attacking midfielders tend to be pathetic in the tackle and stuff. However, its hard to find the type of midfielder for us that can tackle but can also attack. Not too many out there!

  • 49 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:29 PM

    @ Gateshead mag

i have been saying for ages that we dont need an AM but instead a deep lying playmaker in a CM position. Someone in the mould of Pirlo or Xabi Alonso who can tackle and then make a good pass, Modric was just that but we unfortunately didn’t pull that one off :( . Lucas Biglia, Dessena and Cigarini are all in that mould

i know tom toon is a lover of Dessena

  • 50 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:33 PM

i would try and nick Denilson or Song from Arsenal as both are in that mould. Both need a bit brushing up but i can see both have the potential to be class players, especially Song who can play CB, RB, DM, and CM

  • 51 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:36 PM

Diaby aswell, surely Arsene would let one of them go if we tabled a decent offer

  • 52 The Entertainers // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:37 PM

    @ Spyro

Dont get me wrong mate it certainly was not an attack.

I thought your point was a good one and Arsenals midfielders in the recent past have been fantastic.

I just love AM all my fav players tend to play this position. I’m just being gluttonous!

  • 53 The Entertainers // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:38 PM

Would love any of the Gunners young guns. But Wenger would be mad to release any.

Why did we not get that lad at Pompey ?

    Madness.

  • 54 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:40 PM

    what lad? Diarra?

  • 55 The Entertainers // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:41 PM

Thats the one, i’m a big fan and was hoping to grab him when he was last available.

Never mind there are plenty more out there, just hope Wise is grafting day and night.

  • 56 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:43 PM

me too entertainers, thats the thing, there A’REN’T many like dIARRA OUT THERE AND I WAS REALLY ANNOYED WE MISSED OUT ON HIM. hE IS A FANTASTIC TALENT AND WE COULD HAVE BUILT OUR MIDFIELD AROUND HIM.

    sorry avout the caps, accident

  • 57 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:45 PM

missing out on Diarra comes just behind missing out on Modric in terms of how disappointed i was.

no one really knows why we missed out on him, papers made up a load of stuff to do with wages but they were probably lying, i think it may have something to do with Sam getting sacked and our “calculated gamble” of not buying anyone in January.

  • 58 WIGAZ // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:47 PM

Get up Duff! it will be amazing if KK can bring him back from the dead, if he can he’ll prob be one of our best players next season! if he can get back to his top form then KK works the magic on Smith we could save a few £ in the transfer market! i know all you lot prob think i’m sniffing glue posting that tho! lmao! Good to see Guthrie get 1! hope he turbs out to be a gr8 buy!

  • 59 richie // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:52 PM

    same spyro diarra is class

  • 60 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 6:56 PM

Hows it going Richie, still hoping we go for Garven? :D

  • 61 ToonKing // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:03 PM

Diarra is an idiot Spyro, he may be a decent player but do you want another whining, self important idiot at the club ???

  • 62 valle // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:05 PM

Well imo we dont NEED to play diamond formation, but we do need an attack minded midfielder that can open up defenses, because at it is we have no one who does that on a regular basis… Also the myth that AM’s cant defend belong to the 90’s, i just have to point to VDV and Diego to prove my point, because altho they can both play MC they are natural AM. There is one problem tho… If you play with an AM in diamond you need a class DM too, and i dunno if Butt can do it week in week out.

  • 63 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:07 PM

VDV is not good defensively, why do you use him as an example? I dont really know how good Diego is defensively i must admit

Toonking i can understand why you say that about Diarra because the media do portray him to be a prat, but remember he only wanted to play football, Arsenal apparently promised this and then didnt deliver. In fact, Diarra is a great player to have because he has his head screwed on, this is shown as he left not one, but TWO top class teams as he wasn’t getting any games. I would have loved him here

  • 64 valle // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:09 PM

To expand on my comment i would like to add that when i write AM, im not talking about the position in the hole, but rather a certain type of player such as VDV, Diego, Hleb or Nasri, and i really feel we need that kind of flair player with a creative side.

  • 65 valle // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:11 PM

Hey i didnt say he was good defensivly, i said he did a job… All you really need from your AM is to press, he dosnt need to be the perfect tackler.

  • 66 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:12 PM

you do have a point Valle, i suppose it is just a preference

  • 67 valle // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:12 PM

Spyro… Diego and Frings are called the two motors of Bremen, which should tell you all you need to know.

  • 68 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:12 PM

That doesn’t mean he is good defensively Valle, I suppose it is just a preference, i am someone who would rather see two CM’s rather than an AM

  • 69 valle // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:13 PM

Spyro… True, but we will soon enough know i guess… KK buying Jonas tells me we will play some kind of 4-4-2 tho.

  • 70 valle // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:16 PM

Well… If we could get a guy who could both tackle great and cut open defenses, then im all for buying him… My point is that at the minute i dont think we have anyone who can open defenses, but we do have several who can tackle.

  • 71 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:18 PM

Valle i like the gutierrez signing and i think he will have a kind of freerole in our team, drifting from one side to the other and sometimes the middle etc. If we can establish a midfield that is comfortable constantly switching positions it would make us so unpredictable and hard to defend against. Much like Man U
We have the players to do this in Zoggy, Milner, Guthrie and Gutierrez, and i feel a good dressing room is KEY to this idea. A bunch of lads who like each other and know each others style is needed. this way when a player drifts out of position it is almost automatic that someone will cover

  • 72 valle // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:18 PM

After talking about this i came to think about Modric again… There was a modern day AM who can do a defensive job as well imo.

  • 73 valle // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:20 PM

Spyro… Dont forget Duff, he did switch jobs to perfection for chelsea… I guess our next signing will tell us a great deal… But if its true we were after Modric and Aimar then i reckon that the AM i talk about is on KK’s list ;)

  • 74 valle // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:21 PM

Hehe, dont misunderstand my Duff switch remark please ;)

  • 75 normski1930z // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:21 PM

i much prefer to have a dm player coz it gives you assurance at the back bcos many teams in the prem play on the counterattack and they play it with pace…have never liked nufc defence getting exposed coz it generally ends up in us concedein….

  • 76 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:21 PM

oh yeah and Duff too if he can play to the high standards he set at blackburn

  • 77 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:23 PM

im the same normzki, and this is why a would rather a battling midfield of two CM’s rather than having an AM.

I suppose it depends on our opposition aswell.

  • 78 normski1930z // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:29 PM

spyro i still think we need to strengthen the backbone of the team ie cb,cm and cf my reasons being …taylor is not the player everyone thinks he is, barton well what are we gonna get from him next season no body knows and viduka will be injured at least 40% of the time…

  • 79 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:30 PM

agree with everything you have said there normski. Also, im not saying we dont need signings, i would be seriously deluded if i thought that, i am just saying that an AM is not vital IMO

  • 80 valle // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:34 PM

in a perfect world we would get 5-7 players more who would all be better than what we currently have.

  • 81 normski1930z // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:37 PM

valle am not having a go kid but i absolutely hate that saying of “in a perfect world” there is no such thing in and outside of football, nothing on this planet is perfect, apart from maybe my little lad,but he is only perfect to me…

  • 82 Spyro // Jul 19, 2008 at 7:38 PM

thing is valle, i can only see us bringing in 3 more max (not including youth squad signings), hope im wrong though, would love to see 5 arrive

In a perfect World we’d bring in 18 World class players but we’ve got to be realistic.

Keegan said 3 or 4 class players for the first team and he’s already got Jonas, so that leaves 2 or 3 more plus another 1 or 2 young lads like Guthrie.

normski… No offense lad, but i cant really take into account what you do or dont hate when i write.

Matt… Your taking what i wrote out of proportion wouldnt you agree?. It was pointed out that we needed 3 players more, and i find that a bit on the low side if we are going for top 6, but i guess any posting on here could get hacked down if we wanna be negative about it.

A note on the same subjekt it is this targetting of comments with negative attitudes that was part in Ed closing this site down. Im not saying you guys went over the edge, cause you didnt, but thats how it starts and i get truly p*ssed to the point of explotion when people turn this into something that has NOTHING to do with football such as opinions on “sayings”… Im by no means trying to start a fight here, but if you havent got a constructive answer which is football related to my post then i dont give a rats *** about your feelings.

Good result for an opening friendly. Excellent morale boost for Duff and Duthie. On a less optomistic note, Edgar seemed a little inexperienced; Shola let himself down for a striker and Smith seemed invisible.

From KK’s post match interview, you have to assume that we’re not selling anyone (Smith, Duff, ?Ameobi) or we have to replace them as well as another 3 signings.

I could only catch up on the match from comments.
    Did anyone see the game..?
    How bad was Edgar?
    Did Smith feature at all?
    Was N’Zogbia happy at LB?
Which players ran with the ball at their men?
How did Milner do in central midfield?

I’d really appreciate some of these answered from an eye witness.
    Any takers?

    Opinion or Fact, Gateshead?

Duff on the scoresheet…I can’t believe it !
Maybe he should be given another chance and who knows maybe kk can get smith scoring again too.

If they both played to their potential it would be amazing and almost like 2 new signings.

Give em both until christmas and see if keegan can get them fit and hungry again.

Good work out and danny gutherie sounds like he really wants to play for the shirt too.
