i dont understand why we havent targeted want away players like darren fletcher, john o'shea, SWP.

they are guaranteed first team football, as well as a lucrative wage at nufc! they are quality players with great epl experience. plus their price shouldnt break the bank at around 6-7m each (max 9m for fletcher and SWP).

Come on KK get a move on before its too late and the like of portsmouth and everton snap these guys up.

Plus, get rid of Micahel Owen. What a waste of space. Fair play to him, when he's on the pitch he can be effective. The problem is he is never fit enough to actually get past that white line! Injury prone and likely to break down all the time. I literally recoil with fear whenever he gets tackled by a big CB in case he break one of his brittle bones. He should go on a weight gain regime, it wont make a difference to his pace as he's lost it all.

Another side issue...
Does anyone know why Wor Kev refused to talk to Sky Sports, David Craig after the Pools match. Apparently he would only talk to Nufc TV.

I'm sure this is absolute tosh, ironic that its trash doing the recycling with this story.

I dont for one moment Newcastle decide 2-3 weeks into the window to discuss transfers.

Hadrian - don't believe the gossip press about Wise. He isn't calling the shots at all - his job is to get the players in that Kevin wants. Kevin has the last and only says as to who he wants, and who goes too. The recruitment team job is to get them in and also scout other players and bring them to Kevin to see what he thinks - if he doesn't like them - end of story. That's the only way it can work.

HPS-really? i'd heard the other 3 had went down but that kaboul had turned it down, hence the quote which i found hilarious.
well even if he was there...i just hope the agent said it, because its fantastic. or if he didnt, the journalist that plucked it out of nowhere is rather funny.

sorry if this has already been mentioned lads, but has anyone seen kaboul's agents comments towards a possible move to sunderland?
he claimed kaboul would never move to sunderland, "not even in the event of an earthquake"..hahahaha.

The only reason he signed for us was the wages we have gave him and i dont think Wigan could pay that much for him.

Bill F - what if they havn't?? and are still rumaging around teams within europe and the premier league!! What I saw in KK interview he looked unhappy and unconfident when asked about the transfers!! Just hope we don't end up with (Alan Smith) signings!! "as in your name sake he needs to SPLASH THE CASH!!"

Here, lads, cheer up and read this for a laugh : -

"(Steve) Bruce now believes he could add both Saha and Owen to the squad for the same price. (as Andy Johnson). Alhough their combined wages would be higher, Bruce is hoping to re-united Owen with Heskey. Newcastle themselves have grown tired of Owen's inconsistency"(?)

HPS I don't think we will have panic buying this time around, I still think MA and his R-Squad have signings in the pipeline but are biding their time so as not to pay over the odds.

We may well be best off signing a few more promising players - Sjkelbred (scuse spelling), that 20 year-0old Romanian defender who I've forgotten the name of, etc etc. Those are surely gettable now if we offered good money! 4 of those, say, and personally I'd be very happy without any higher-profile signings.

About Aimar, I was keen at the time but it might be a blessing as some intelligent football punters reckon he would really have struggled in the Premiership had we have signed him.

I really hope we get some quality in! although i'm sure the likes of Jonas & guthrie will show themselves to be good signings we do need some solid buys who have already proven themselves at the top level like Shorey, SWP, would love Joe cole! possibly Gudjihnson! we do need a quality CB tho, Heard harry saying he'd have to sell players at pomp in order to buy, we should go for ditstan or Sol!

On a seperate note did anybody see tino's articale in the Chronicle? He said playing for Toon was best time in his career & working with KK was too! He said He'd advise players to sign for him! and that he may be coming back to SJP next season to meet up with KK again, i'm sure we'd give him a standing ovation!
