The Sunday Sun today is reporting again, that Keegan is still interested in Pascal Chimbonda of Tottenham.

Pascal met with Sunderland manager Roy Keane, and the Frenchman was extremely impressed with what Keane had to tell him, and what his plans are for the Wearside club.
The Sunday Sun is reporting the player will now “think about things for a few days†before deciding on whether to move to the Stadium of Light.
According to his agent, Roger Boli, both Newcastle United and Everton have also made clear their interest in his player, and we think the two day thinking it over time is to give those clubs some time to make their move, if they are indeed going to make one.
We’d be very surprised though, at this stage, if Newcastle actually tried to bring Chimbonda to Tyneside, after being linked with the player for months.
We like the player, but he wouldn’t be a massively popular acquisition, according to the comments of most of our readers on the site.

According to the sun chimbonda’s agent has confirmed that we are interested, yet they don’t include any quotes to that effect.
Surely if he had actually said we were interested they would have included the quote.

Why move Beye who could be the best RB in the league this season. Chimbonda is a good RB but should we not be looking to get in players that are missing before getting in two players for one position, RB in my opinion is one of the last places in need of strengthening. Beye is quality there, then the likes of Taylor, Edgar, and Faye can also play there, even more so Geremi who i think should have been used there more often, he is very similar to Solano but defends alot better, Geremi uses the ball so so well. I hope this is rubbish, even though Chimbonda can play LB too I much prefer a left footed LB (wudnt mind Lahm though). We need 1 or 2 CB, a LB, a DM, a AMC, and a big CF.

i would never say out of the question but if he plays the way he did at wigan then he would be an axcellent signing as he played brilliant and even got in team of the season along with given i mite add but if he can change his attitude and kev can get the best out of him then why not even though this wont happen as he is signing for sunderland and his wages are to higgh which means there is no way mike ashley will pay that amount of wages for him as it is to much of a risk

I been really fustratred with the lack of transfers thinking we not got money, bolton spending more that on us, tight owner, etc
But i thought of something that gave me hope. MA cant allow keegan to leave cos if he did there would be a massive revolt on his hands. He knows the fans would go sick if it came out that keegan left for lack of funds than what he was promised
So if keegan gets unhappy right to the brink MA has no option but to back keegan with the funds or support that he needs, the alterative is far worse. Fans would hate him, no one would wanna buy the club in such turmoil ,not get out clause.

Laurent Robert, Oliver Bernarnd reminds me of these type of players who are happy to sit on bench and collect the money inn!! Deffo do not sign him Kev. I really am worried about the lack of transfer activities. Unless we sign 4 or 5 players I will still be worried.
Why?
1. We need to improve from last year and I can’t see it happen with the current squad (imagine 3 players being injured and then a suspension or so, which team will play then???)
2. The top players (Beye, Owen, Martins, …) will stay if they know that the team will go in the good direction (getting more and more quality)

Whats happening with Kadar this season? cause he can cover for Enrique who i think will be great for us this season. I dont see the point in bringing in another good good left back cause one or the other will want to leave n my bet would be Enrique heading off to spain for like 3mill.Play enrique more and have faith! Its quite strange that we are all pondering which great midfielders we dream of seeing on our beloved SJP.
Yet yesterday it was our midfield that was brilliant, ok against The Monkey Hangers, but brilliant all the same. Thats without Spideman, Barton and Geremi.
However our defence was shocking in their goal and is full of holes regarding the squad. We still need a LB, RB and ideally 2 CB!
Our strikers showed the problems we’ve got. Oba is either red hot or simpley not (no inbetweens), Smith could not hit the side of a barn door at the moment (i still have faith in Kev moulding this lad )and Owen and Viduka showed their most consistant talent, picking up injuries either prior, during or after a game……as for Shola well the sand has nearly ran out in that egg timer.
Oh and we all know how many goals the strikers scored.
This is not negativity on the game / squad (honest) i just think our priorities should be
1)Defence x 4
2)Striker x1
3) Midfield x 3

Got to agree with Tom Toon here, Bosingwa is second only to Ramos at RB. He is good on attack and brilliant defensively.
My choice for an attacking midfielder at 10M.
Well personally we need a set piece specialist, and I quite fancy Mark Bresciano.
He is creative and clever and has excellent delivery from set pieces.
He is 28 this year but in his prime and would have a good 4 years in him.
Would not be overpriced either.

Veloso and Moutinho are completely unproven and completely overpriced, they may well go on to be greats but would be a massive risk at that price.
Normski – our current midfield is average at best.
Bresciano has averaged 1 goal every five games and has an excellent assit average in one of the top leagues in the world for the past 5 years.
He would be an improvement on any of our central midfielders and would be realistic, unlike Veloso and the likes. If you watch the highlights of a recent game against Argentina, he was a thorn in the Argies side the entire game, with his set pieces.
Who takes our set pieces now: Geremi – dont get me started… Since Robert/Solano left we havnt had anyone who can put in good ball for our strikers.

Tom Toon – I think Ramos is better overall, but Bosingwa would be more successful in the premier league with his style of play.

He is untouchable in my opinion
He was captain of marseille for years,had a really good season in his first season for us even though its hard to settle the first year
only going to get better
even though big sam had a terrible time here that was one of his excellent moves

Veloso isnt even worth £16mil, lets put it into perspective:
(Paper talk prices)
Veloso = £18mil
Inler = £5mil
Inler is very close to the quality of Veloso, that is how overpriced Veloso is.
No comparison between Alves and Bosginwa, im sure most on here would favour Bosingwa.

TT – Bresciano can play anywhere across the midfield but played best in position just behind the front two (alla Owen at the end of the season). He can also play LW in a 4 4 2 formation.

Got a bit of news for you all, but try to keep it schtum ok.
Tomorrow is a big day fo the Toon, we have some signings comin in, and you can take my word on this. Obviously i cant tell you who i am, or why i know, but i assure you, you will all be pleasantly surprised.
A big name is on the cards, and hasnt just about every Toon fan been waiting for this.
The other two signings are great, believe me, and they will both change the team and help towards changing the club as a whole.

You will all find out soon enough, I obviously can’t leak the info because there are only a certain few that know.
What I can tell you is that one has been wrapped up for a while, but the suspense feels great, although I know about it, I come and look on here regularly and so many fans seem to be really worried, is it just because Kevin is back that you are so worried?
I suppose it is really, you all want him to do well, if it was Sam still in charge none of you would be this worried at this point in time as there is still a long time to go until the closure in the transfer window.
