Newcastle Fan Sites Around The World

July 22nd, 2008 · 292 Comments

We gave a little plug to a Newcastle United fan site in Thailand yesterday, and we’ve had requests to publish other Newcastle fan web sites around the world – so we will be putting these up on a sidebar, with where they are all from.

nufc-crest.png

So here they all are – and of course a top fan site has always been nufc.com, which we assume everybody knows about, so we haven’t put that one on this particular list.

My thanks to one of our readers, whose handle is ToonKing - for compiling this list, if there are any more let us know via the Comments Form .

We think you are going to be really impressed with these sites!

yeah Tom_Toon, a lot of work has been done on that site by a dedicated hungarian fan, and as of recently i write the news on there.

also the english version of the site is coming soon so we expect you guys to come visit us once in a while when the english version is up and running.
It has great content, huge info on the club and players, staff, St James Park, history, stats, fan football, orders from the club shop, forum, picture gallery, prediction league.

we await everyone to come visit us.

  • 13 DC Toon // Jul 22, 2008 at 19:23

ToonKing, the Hungarian site looks fantastic. Very impressed. Once you get the translation going, I will be visiting your site often.

    Hey all,

I was wondering if any of you know about a Belgian Nufc fanclub? I would like to meet some fellow Newcastle fans from Belgium and maybe travel with them to a Newcastle game. So big thanks if anyone could help me with that.

  • 15 marat18 // Jul 22, 2008 at 19:27

we have russian one here, but it’s out of order now - has to be updated and re-designed soon (may be even in two weeks).
so, Ed, how about this idea: publish all the links to local NUFc sites all around the world somewhere n the left or the right side of the site? so the geordies over the world could read all the last news in their native language?

  • 16 ToonTim // Jul 22, 2008 at 19:28

That Hungarian one is fantastic!! But obviously there is the slight problem i cant read it!!

Its good to see Serbia have a fan base!! Maybe Ana Ivanovic is a fan of the toon!?! :D

Oh and harrier - im from essex so i knew first hand that it spreads further than the north east!!

  • 17 harrier // Jul 22, 2008 at 19:31

  • 21 harrier // Jul 22, 2008 at 19:35

ToonTim - totally agree - now I just need to convince my-self to splash the 25 bucks :D

  • 22 beessi // Jul 22, 2008 at 19:35

harrier—du u live in boston? if yes, congratulation for the title of celtics i saw them every game in play-off and if is it impossible to talk with u

  • 23 harrier // Jul 22, 2008 at 19:38

I do for the summers cause I grew up in boston as my parents decided to go all expat on me. I live in Edinburgh for most of the year though (for uni). Celtics title was awesome. I just wish the Pats had won. Imagine World Series, NBA Championship, AND a SuperBowl - would of been the greatest year ever for Boston sports! (Though it still is great!)

Would trade all 7 titles i’ve seen Boston sports teams win recently for some success at Newcastle though.

  • 24 keeganjr // Jul 22, 2008 at 19:40

impressed by the norwegian web site??? u can’t live in norway then.. i do.. they are all scums, and don’t deserve to call them self a geordie.. have mutch to tell, but my english is to bad, sorry..

    Hi
There are many people in Norway include my self who have left the norwegian site you refer to. The man in charge conned people for money.
I don’t know if he still there but, I would use another norwegian website called http://www.newutd.com. Much better :)

  • 29 Paul R // Jul 22, 2008 at 19:48

Its amazing to see how much newcastle is a global brand and not just our football club up in the north east of england !!

i bet midlesbrough dont even have a england blog never mind a hungarian website for them … as they have only half a dozen fans ! HAHA ! And not much better at sunderland !!

  • 30 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:01

One day, I promise to myself, I’ll go in St. James’ Park and buy a house in Newcastle.

I’m too much fascinated in that city. In my PC, I have almost a three hundred(and that’s too few, cause I want to find more) photographs of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Oh, I would like I help!

How can I start to hate Sunderland. Cause the only mackem that I’ve have ever seen was in Rio de Janeiro, Lord Jim Pub, seeing the last Tyne-Wear Derby.

So, could anybody tell me anything that will make hate the bastards?

Ah, one thing! They’re city is absolutely the copy of Newcastle upon Tyne.

  • 40 Kevin // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:24

Harrier you’re from Boston? You rat bastard. I’m currently living in Chicago - but spent a long time in New York City, supporting the YANKEES! You’re now my sworn enemy.

As I said I’m in Chicago and I’m AMAZED how much response I get when I walk around the city in my Martins kit. But when I was in New York, the Toon Army is IMMENSE for an American City, and does the lads well. I have to give credit for their supporters club!

  • 41 Paul R // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:26

    Brazilian Geordie

there “city” looks like war torn baghdad on a good day .. people from sunderland eat their own babies when they r born and are all interbred !

furthermore they are all criminals and drug addicts !! omg ! and this is just the tip of the dirty rotten mackem problem !

the best mackem is a mackem locked up in a mental hospital and dont get my started on middlesbrough !!

  • 42 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:36

    HAHAHAHAHA, ok, I’ll believe you!

One more thing! I hate Keano! Shearer should hit his face against Manchester!

I HATE KEANO! I HATE KEANO!

HE WANKS HIS DOG! look, i’m learning to say the geordies’ slangs!

    :D

Any news on transfers lads ,its really quiet everywhere at min!

  • 46 Kevin // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:45

Oooooh Dave you’re lucky we’re not in the same room!
I have to say this though - rivalries in the states are tame compared to the uk - the fact that the tyne-weir match is played ONLY 2x in one year makes it sooooo much more intense. If I miss a game between the Yankees and Red Sox, who gives a toss. I’ll catch the next one in a couple weeks. But to miss the Sunderland match? Are you f’ing insane? Never gonna happen.

    http://www.newcastle.no is a scammer site tho…
wouldnt give it free pr like this

  • 48 Oyvind // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:47

Hi. I am a newcastle fan from Norway. Just wanted to tell you that I really hope you will remove the newcastle.no link from fan sites in Norway. This is not a site any Newcastle fan want to be associated with. The guy running this site is a total scam. He has sold fake newcastle shares to newcastle fans in Norway, and overpriced tickets to Euro Matches. There is alot of people creating a new and better fan site at Newutd.no. This is the correct link to use on this site. Sunday Sun has a report on the guy running the newcastle.no site here: http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/tm_method=full&objectid=19947845&siteid=50081-name_page.html .

Cheers from the Norwegian fanbase :)

  • 49 Dave // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:50

That’s the reason I fell in love with Baseball! The crowd are atmospheric, but no where near as idiotic as an English crowd. Sure there’s banter, but all in good nature. I went to see Mets against the Giants and fans from both sides were sitting next to each other having a laugh and enjoying the entertainment, couldn’t believe my eyes!

I just love how less volatile it is in the States in comparison to the UK.

  • 50 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:50

    What? I’m Brazilian.

I can tell you everything you want about Rio de Janeiro!

  • 51 leeg123 // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:51

    how where then

  • 52 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:51

Why would I have to pretend? Do you have orkut?

My name is João! Which probably means John in the UK.

  • 53 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:52

Better, do want me to translate my posts to portuguese?

    I really can do that.

  • 54 Soren // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:53

Harrier - Celtics were amazing this year! they probably gonna win again next season. Shame they couldn’t keep Posey.

Think its cool to watch all these different sites, the newutd.no looks nice I think, and of course the danish. Also wanting to check out the hungarian once it gets a english version.

  • 57 Kevin // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:57

    @Dave
Point taken. But I want singing! Most games, the crowd will only make noise when A)a point, goal, or run is scored or B)The Jumbo-Tron tells them to.

@toonarmy08 - ANOTHER slow news day, mate. We NEED some BIG news days soon - or else we’ll end up with problems! The days will soon begin to run short…

  • 58 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 20:59

I also don’t know what is ”pulling”

    u=you
    sed=said

    I’m not understanding this point.

  • 72 Ever seen a mackem in Milan? // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:07

Maybe all the foriegn toon fans could be scouts for us and recomend players to wise he isnt doing to well.

  • 73 Toon1978 // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:08

I have been reading the local rag EVENING CHRONICLE and reading between the lines they are not that confident about us making anymore signings. Ashley has made canny money on Emre and we have shipped out Roz and other dead wood also. Not sure on the amount on Jonas but i believe we paid very little for him and we only paid 2 million for Guthrie so it seems Ashley has taken more then he has given so far. I really do hope we get four other quality players or we will be in big trouble this coming season and Ashley will feel the wrath of the geordie faithful. Either buy the players or sell the club to someone willing to invest heavily. My patience is really starting to wear thin with this pie munching fake. I really hope he proves me wrong fingers crossed.

  • 74 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:08

  • 100 Dave // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:27

  • 102 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:31

Oh, look, someone told (I can’t remember who) that the foreing Geordies can be a ’scout’ for the club.

Renato Augusto, a briliand midfielder, just 20 years old and left Flamengo to join Leverkusen.

I can tell you, Newcastle lost a great chance with this player.

  • 103 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:31

Oh, I forgot to tell, he was very cheap!

  • 104 Tom_Toon // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:35

Brazilian Geordie - Thiago Silva? Best defender in Brazil for a while :)

Not at the mo though with Flu doing so poorly.

  • 105 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:36

    Yeah! Yeah!

But I don’t like him to much :(

Cause he plays for Fluminense, who is a rival of Flamengo.

Cause they reach Libertadores’ final against LDU Quito.

They also have the greatest midfielder, THIAGO NEVES.

  • 108 Tom_Toon // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:42

There are a few in Pameiras i like:

    Lenny and Diego Souza.

Arouca is also good for Flu.

  • 109 Dave // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:43

    Thiago Neves is awesome!!

I was watching Goalissimo at a ridiculous time in the morning, and he totally owned a team.. Can’t remember who…

  • 110 Tom_Toon // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:45

    Same Dave :)

I always watch it when i can, thankfully its on a bit earlier now.

Brazilian Geordie, what has happened to Santos this season - second bottom in the league??

  • 112 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:46

Diego Souza already played for Fla and Flu. But he’s no too much regular.

Lenny? haha, no one likes this guys in Brazil. His just like Robinho. Run, run, run, run, run and nothing. Actually, Robinho at least make a few goals.

Arouca is a good player. But in some time I think he gets tired. He born so near to my city!

  • 113 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:47

Diego Souza was at Benfica and he was good enough but he didnt like it.

Saw him score an immense free-kick the other week.

Lenny just struck me as a spritely midfielder/forward lots of energy and pace, what we are missing.

  • 115 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:49

    Ops, sorry for the double

  • 116 harrier // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:51

  • 117 Tom_Toon // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:52

What happened to Dagoberto, they were saying he would be the new Zico or something, i know he got a bad injury and it reoccured a few times, wasnt he out for almost 2 years?

Do you rate Rafael Sobis? I havent seen enough of him.

  • 118 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:53

    Jay

Santos is almost being relegated, despite the championship has started a little time ago.

Their squad are so poor. And, the worst thing is that they are changing the manager everytime.

I’ll give you a link of the best journal of sports in Brazil.

    http://globoesporte.globo.com/

  • 119 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:57

Oh, Dagoberto is playing for São Paulo. He scored a goal last weekend, but will be NEVER the new Zico. I went to Maracanã a couple of weeks ago, to saw Flamengo v Vasco.

Fla has a interesting player called Ibson, but I don’t know if he can play the ‘english style’.

And about Sobis, I really don’t like him. He has played very very well in Brazil. But, since he moved to Betis, he is doing very bad. Finally, if he’s not producing too much things in spanish league, I think they would do ABSOLUTELY nothing in the Premier League, which is much more difficult.

  • 120 Jay // Jul 22, 2008 at 21:58

Maybe Pele could put his boots on and play at Vila Belmeiro again!

  • 121 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:01

    Haha, ‘de nada’ (you’re welcome).

    Pele? perhaps, who knows…

Everything about brazilian football you can ask me.

  • 122 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:02

By the way, I’m absolutely fascinated how you know brazilian football.

  • 123 Tom_Toon // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:02

BG - They ubbed him the new Zico ages ago before he got that really bad injury.

Ibson played for Porto he was ok, but he was too weak for the portuguese leage so definitely too weak for the english league.

  • 124 Tom_Toon // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:04

I dont know too much about Brazil football but i do often watch highlights and some matches.

  • 127 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:07

If a could send a list to Keegan, it would have these names:

    THIAGO NEVES - Fluminense
    HERNANES - São Paulo
    GUILHERME - Cruzeiro
    THIAGO SILVA - Fluminense
JUAN - Flamengo (Already played for Arsenal, absolutely briliant player, by the way, the best left-back in brazilian football)

We have had Henrique too, but he just moved to Barcelona. Shame, but Silva is better than he.

  • 128 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:09

Yeah Tom. But actually, the new Zico is Andrei Arshavin :)

  • 129 Tom_Toon // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:11

Yes, i like Hernanes but dont think we could get him.

I know of Guilherme but i havent seen him. I know he has taken over from Kerlon as Cruzeiro’s wannabe star, but he is better than Kerlon was.

Is it true Cruzeiro actually want to get rid of Kerlon because he is injury prone?

  • 130 Jay // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:14

I have learnt a lot about Brazilian football from reading the UK’s top two football magazines (World Soccer and FourFourTwo) for as long as I can remember….

  • 131 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:18

Well, about Kerlon, I don’t know exatly what Cruzeiro wants to do with him, but I can tell you he’s not a good player(and will never be).

He just do the ‘drible da foca’ and absolutely nothing more. He’s like Lulinha(Corinthians). By the way, Lulinha has being the South America greatest u17 striker. But since he moved for the First Team, he didn’t play well.

About the youngs, Vasco da Gama has a big one. He’s called Phillipe Coutinho (only 16!), and is absurd higly-rated. Actually, they received a bid from Real Madrid about just €5M.

  • 132 Lasse // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:19

Thiago Martins plays for my team in Norway. Good striker, by Norwegian standard anyway.

  • 134 Tom_Toon // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:21

Coutinho signed for Inter Milan today.

Is Morais any good from Vasco?

  • 135 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:22

Jay, brazilian football is very interesting. But I’m passionate for the english one.

By the way, my dream is to live in Newcastle and support the Toon every single day…

I would be the happiest man in the world if I can live there. But certainly one day I’ll do.

  • 136 ToonTim // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:22

Judging on his ability on football manager 2008, Guilherme is quality!!

Im Arsenal atm and i have both Arouca and Renato Augusto in my team and they are both class!! Also Lulinha!!! (I should just be a scout)

However thats in a virtual world so i cant give an accurate portrail! :)

  • 137 daiv // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:22

Keep the faith. MA has a fantastic strategy for winning the league. Its called not spending any money. We sell more players than we buy and we sell them for more than the cost of the sales. That way he makes a load of money and somehow we win the league. But its a secret and don’t tell anybody in manchester or Chelsea otherwise they won’t spend any money either and will start challenging us for the league. Honest, it’s Mike’s secret but few people understand it.

  • 138 daiv // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:25

    Lads,
By the way, Kevin doesn’t understand it either but he’s broke and won’t question his master.

  • 139 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:26

Oh, you’re right Tom. I didn’t pay attention on that. That’s because it’s already a official note, but he didn’t leave Vasco yet.

    Sorry, my mistake.

And about Moraes, I can possibly tell you he’s Vasco’s best player. But I don’t know if he could do well on the Premier League.

  • 140 daiv // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:31

Good on Mike Ashley for instilling some backbone in the club.
First he reduces the wages, then he makes the players buy their own club suits. But has he gone far enough? I don’t think so. Cleaning the bogs would sort the men out from the boys. Better than the army and really attract the top players.

  • 141 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:32

Oh, about Chelsea, I brazilian guy ‘broadcasted’ a note telling that when(if) Abramovich leaves the club, they will get failure.

    Sorry for some possible errors.

  • 142 daiv // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:37

    B razilian Geordie
Yes but they have had a lot of success. NUFC have not won the league for 82 years. Ask any Geordie who they would rather have as owner Ashely or Ab. Some clowns would still say Ashley I bet. Some Geordies think he is God but their belief defies logic. Its got something to do with paying off a debt but they cannot understand he is apying off the debt to make the club more attractive to sell. If he was interested in making the club great, he would be spending some of his 1000 million on buying class players instead of buying in the sales basement.

  • 143 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:46

    daiv, you’re maybe right.

I always get sad about the PL titles, but I will never want to see Newcastle in failure. NEVER.

By the way, for who stayed 82 years without any league titles, it wouldn’t be soo painful see more few years without one.

I really trust our manager, and if there’s one guy that can put Newcastle United on the top again, this guy is called KEVIN KEEGAN.

  • 144 daiv // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:47

I see we are after another Liverpool reserve player called warnock. But are we adhering to the policy of buying teenagers. Is MA really trying to belittle my great club because anybody would thing he is a Spurs supporter taking the proiverbial. Keep repeatind daiv “MA is great “and be more positive. You know he’s here for the best. He’s not really slowly strangling the club.

  • 145 daiv // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:51

    Brazilian Geordie
I like you a lot. You are young and fresh. I’ve been watching NUFC home and way for 45 years. Never won anything. I have not got much time left. Keegan is the man. Without money he is useless. Ashley is a businessman and wants to make money out of the club not invest money in it. If he buys quality players I will apologize but i doubt he will.

  • 146 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:53

In fact, I don’t want him to ‘ sell’ the club.

The team needs to make sucess in England again and be established in the Europe.

So, after that, I think we can get a new owner.

  • 147 harrier // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:57

daiv - you complain that he paid off debt in order to sell - wouldn’t that make you happy if he is not really spending? hypocrisy :)

if he is not doing it to sell - there are a finite number of players that he can sell off before the quality of players becomes to low - unless they buy players who are going to increase in value - in which case our club will only get better. So tell me - what’s the problem?

  • 148 Brazilian Geordie // Jul 22, 2008 at 22:58

Oh, I appreciate man, thanks a lot! hear things like that from a lifelong Newcastle supporter makes me so proud.

And I agree with you about Ashley. But I think if we sell the club now, it can become another problem. (or not, but who knows?)

guess the team’s performance is not satisfying you, daiv. I’d rather speak up in mid-August if there’s nothing happening in the market. It’s still July. Why are we complaining this early? KK is promising for more already.

a question, if Abramovich (or Bill Gate) is in charge of NUFC, would this be more satisfying than MA in charging? Money can’t buy success.

We’ve tried to spend the cash, big name players are just not interested in joining us (yet). We have to get on the big name’s radar by performing in the league with what we have and can get.

If Abramovich was was our owner, we would still struggle in the market as other teams can offer more, Europe, bright lights of London ect. Give KK a full season and we will not only be entertaining but get us noticed.

I’m actually looking forward to the season and surprising everyone

”why arent we bidding for young players with prem experience (bentley) when we’ve come out and said thats the sort of players we want to sign”

That’s what I’m saying for a long time. Not because the signings especially, cause we got Guthrie so far. But we almost signed with Pablo Aimar (and we already have Gutierrez!), and he has absolutely no experience into the Premier League.

  • 168 richmondmag // Jul 23, 2008 at 0:02

    Let it go!!

  • 171 HATE PRAWN SANDWICHES // Jul 23, 2008 at 0:05

richmondmag - Ashley bought the club knowing he could make a large profit in no time at all! all he had to do was pay off the debt and bring in KK to sell unsold season tickets to get the fans on board! put a youth policy ! into place that aloan would save him spending money on quality experienced players who do cost money! and tout the club for investors really allowing possible buyers to see the potential this great attractive club has! then wait and spend as little as little as possible until it is sold!! he makes £100 million thats how he is a self made billionaire in his 40s! deseat hes p****ng on us from a great high and a lot of fans can’t see it!!

Hope Im wrong but I can’t see it!!

  • 192 BoomToon // Jul 23, 2008 at 0:31

I think that Ed has an inside source. He believed that the bids has taken place and was certain that we would have these players.

I don’t think the source is high enough to get the bad news to him fast enough though. I think that KK hinted at the deals at the time as well. Can’t say about the Aimars and the like though.

Sorry, that’s what I mean. I don’t know if we really bid for Aimar. I hate the miror, i stopped buying that cr*p after they went after Shearer when he was still playing for England. Just recently stoppped buying the sun for just plain going after us. I believe the press are the reason for alot of the negativity we all feel towards us.
