Gutierrez Looks To Make Debut Friday Night

Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan would like to hand new signing Jonas Gutierrez his Newcastle United debut in this weekend’s Mallorca Summer Cup.

Jonas Gutierrez – will make debut in Mallorca Summer Cup

The Newcastle manager indeed is hoping to have the Argentine winger play in Friday’s night’s game with Hertha Berlin in Palma.

But Gutierrez will not play against his former club Real Mallorca, in Newcastle’s second game on Sunday night.

Newcastle still do not have the Argentine’s registration and that is why, after he traveled to both Hartlepool and Doncaster, he was left on the sidelines.

Real Mallorca are appealing the deal to FIFA, and until the decision comes down, they are holding onto the registration, but how long will it take FIFA to sort this out?

It looks like Kevin is expecting it to come through this week, and before Friday night.

Kevin Keegan seems confident things will be in place by Friday night, as Gutierrez makes a quick return to Mallorca, where he has played football for the past three seasons.

The Newcastle manager said today:

“Jonas will definitely play in the first game against Hertha Berlin on Friday night as, unless something unforeseen happens, we should have his registration by then.”

“That’s my intention. He wants to play. He desperately wanted to play against Doncaster, but there was no chance of getting his registration.”

“But I won’t play him against his old club. There is no agreement – I just won’t play him against his old club so quickly.”

“However, I’ve told him I’ll play him in the first game.”

Keegan has no fears about Jonas’ match fitness, since he was playing only last month for Argentina in their world Cup qualifying matches.

Keegan continued:

“He’s only four weeks after finishing playing, so he doesn’t need the games as much as the others.”

“He’s not missed as much. He’s had games while the others haven’t, so it’s more important for some of the others to get games.”

It will be great for Newcastle fans to get their first look at a player Kevin says will be fantastic for Newcastle.

Hope so. 😀

some of the players spurs are going for do look good i’ll agree on that but they all play the same position basically. they have signed dos santos and modric and now are supposedly trying to sign arshavin. all 3 are basically free role attackers, and the main criticism/question of all 3 would be whether they have the physical presence enough to succeed in the premiership.

Spurs may be spending but there does not seem to be any patern or reason to it.

and whats this about the players we’re going for not looking good. guthrie has played v well. cant wait to see spiderman play, bassong looks a good bargain, and collicini would be a great signing.

Midjew – So collocini isnt good?

And Spurs have about 14 midfielders, 2 strikers, 4 defenders and 1 keeper, if they want to sign another midfielder let them 😉

Spurs have done well in the market and bought some exciting players to the Premier League. They also look like they are going to strengthen Liverpool and Man Utd though and weaken themselves massively. Keane and Berbatov will not be easily replaced.

I watched the spurs game on setanta last night and thought they looked really good. All the midfielders were swapping positions so the norwich defence didnt know who to pick up. I dont think our 2 signings can be mentioned in the same breath as modric( who was awesome) and dos santos(who was even better).

OLIVER, even Spurs fans said after the game that Modric looked out of place and that Dos Santos is not a team player. They seemed to get in each others way…………….but i guess you know that since…….obviously your a Yid.

I hope so, it would be great to see him! He looks like an enthusiastic character, hope this is a signal of his attitude on the pitch! Its a long hard season in the premiership, but from what i have read he will have no problems adapting to life in the NE

Oliver was seeing Agnetha until he was caught Dancing with a Queen, he then got stuffed up the Super Trouper whilst screaming Mama Mia.

When asked what he was doing Fernando replied – Gimme Gimme Gimme a man after midnight …and so the man aranged to meet him in the Waterloo’s , Fernando Took a Chance on He for Money Money Money.

Fernando will deny it but Knowing me Knowing you Fernando – you took the cash and the Winner Takes it all – up the poop shoot apparently- and if thats what it means to be a Spuds fan – let the Winner take it All.

So Fernando I dont wanna know – THE NAME OF YOUR GAME.

joet. I really dont deserve or want your pity. I just really feel for your clubs supporters going through such a rubbish time. It saddens me to hear your supporters so down in the dumps now that your time in the prem is nearly up. Please dont get to upset though. The problem is your location in the country that doesnt do you any favours. Nor does the fact that your owner is tight unlike your more ambitious neighbours. The fact that you havent won anything in over 50 years and your lack of success in europe will unfortunatly hamper any bids for quality players.

But have faith as football success happens in cycles.Who knows , next time it could be you.

We can’t go for Bentley because a) we have plenty of wingers and b) he wants champions league or european football. He wants it instantly because he’s an idiot and isn’t willing to work hard to push a team forward. He’s the wrong sort of player for the club mentality. I’d rather have Smith than him because at least Smithy has a desire to play for the club and push us forward.

Back on topic, Jonas will hopefuly have a good solid debut and continue to improve. With any luck Coloccini will be up for playing Jonas’ old club!

    Oliver is a Spud?

I’m sorry but what posseses someone to go hunting round other teams websites and then pose as a supporter of that club for the sole intention of trying to ‘big up’ his own club, i’m sorry but shouldn’t you be talking about your own club on one of your own clubs websites.

And if anyone has been on the Sky Sports Forum then you will see how petty and childish these yids are, constantly trying to big up there cack, bottom half side that cannot even fill a seeter ground (yes we are also a poor side like you lot but atleast our fans give us something to shout about).

And also Oliver you claim we have a lack of success in europe, could you now please enlighten me on when you last played Champions League football??? What was that… You have never ever in your entire existence as a second rate club even had the slightest sniff of Champions League football? My word… Who’d have known?

We’ve also won the league more time than your dire lot and tend to pack a 52.000 seater and make a fair bit of noise as apose to watering our luxurious flower collection and playing various lawn games on a match day like you lot, you sad, sad man.
