Gutierrez Set For Newcastle United Debut Tonight

Newcastle will definitely give Jonas Gutierrez his debut in tonight’s game against Hertha Berlin, with a KO of 7:00 pm Newcastle time.

Jonas Gutierrez – will make debut tonight

The Argentine winger has been happy to be a part of Newcastle’s pre-season build up, and his debut has only been delayed by Real Mallorca holding onto his registration.

But he has been given permission to play tonight at the ONO Stadium, despite his official paperwork still not having been completed.

It will be a great opportunity for Gutierrez to show what he can do, and will be good for Newcastle fans also to see him start.

Jonas told the Evening Chronicle this afternoon:

“I can’t wait to make my debut in front of the fans tonight.” “It’s even more special that it is at my old ground.”

“And I want to show people what I can do.”  “It’s great to be able to play out here.”

“We have hard games to come, but we are excited by the tournament.”

Gutierrez was very popular with Mallorca fans last season, and he was given a great welcome back by his former team-mates and club staff on his return. Seems like the lad is extremely popular, which is good to see.

The former La Liga star seems happy at life in general and obviously excited by his big chance with Newcastle United.

Gutierrez added:

“I am very happy to be back in Majorca.”“I lived here for four years and I have a lot of friends and family here. ”

“It was a good opportunity for me to come.”  “It’s great to be here with Newcastle as this is a wonderful city.”

Newcastle fans will occupy almost three quarters of the stadium tonight and Gutierrez believes that will make for a tremendous atmosphere.

“The ONO Stadium has a very good atmosphere and it will interesting to see the Newcastle fans here,”

“The supporters of Real Mallorca are very good, so it will be great.”

It should be a good game tonight, and it’s televised live in the UK on Setanta Sports, as is the game on Sunday night.

And we hope that by Sunday night, one of the players Jonas knows very well, will have already joined up with him at the Tyneside club, Fabricio Coloccini.

We’re sure Jonas is telling Fabricio just how great things are at Newcastle, with our fantastic fans and with popular manager and legend Kevin Keegan now in charge again at the club – what could be better?   😀

Guess it’ll 3/4s full with Toon fans cos we’re playing Hertha Berlin tonight, not Real Mallorca.

Any news on why his registration is taking so long?
