Keegan – Owen Will Be Fit For First Game

Kevin Keegan says that his captain Michael Owen will be ready to lead the team out, when Newcastle United start their Premier League season against Manchester United, at Old Trafford, on August 17.

Michael Owen – Keegan thinks Owen will be fit for first game

However, Keegan is also wary of rushing Michael’s return, which he says he will not do.

Owen is actually back in training, but when asked about his chances of playing against Valencia, on Saturday, Kevin told nufcTV last night:

“I don’t think so.”“Michael will want to play and maybe have half a match, but I’ve told him I won’t risk him.”

“He’ll be fit for Manchester United as long as he doesn’t have any setbacks. He’s just started running again and done a lot of strength work. He’s a very fit boy.”

“We must get some football into him again now but we can do that internally without throwing him into a game five days after his comeback.”

It will be good to have Michael available for the Manchester United game, but we wonder if he’ll really be match fit by then?

We hope so, because our first game will be very important to hopefully get our season off to a good start.

True legend, and GOD, please let him live longer…

“Donating a £500,000 cheque on behalf of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation for a new dedicated cancer research centre in his beloved Newcastle yesterday simply said everything about the man. “

So I’m right in thinking that Owen will be playing against Manure with zero match practice?
He must train by himself in case somebody clatters him, something funny going on if you ask me, I reckon they’ll be trying to sell him as he’ll be walking for nowt at the end of the season,
anybody want a bet that Owen could be playing AGAINST us at the opening game? Sir Alex only has one fit striker (Tevez) and it looks like Saha is going to the mackems….

He’s our best player by far lads! oba is class but not prolific enough viduka is always injured i think once KK returned we saw how valuable Michael is to the team lets not knock him lets support him! with Toon army on his side i can see him notching 20+ this season, starting by bagging 1 or 2 against manure, their missing loads of players so be gr8 time to play them i’m betting they have berbatov in a red shirt by then though!

He’ll hit form and under Keegan score shed loads. He will also pull a tendon, strain a calf and bugger a budgie. He’ll earn millions, earn us millions, captain us to silverware and cause us all to moan far too regularly. But. That’s football for ya (appart from the buggering a budgie bit).

off topic but people complain that we have a smaller squad now after letting 6 go and only buying 4. The 6 we let go were either always injured or fringe players that werent good enough, we have replaced these with 4 quality players. IMO our squad has increased by 4! We need an ACM and we bid for modric and aimar so im certain we will get one in. I think we can expect a top 10 finish but maybe europe depending on our form in the last couple of months of the season.

Sorry a little off topic. But there are a few of us trying to organise a bus from Hull to the home games if we get enough numbers. We will organise pick up points on along the M62 & A1 once we have peoples location it will cost around £20 depending on numbers. If anyone is interested you can contact me at timbahead@yahoo.co.uk this address has been set up to just deal with this item. Thanks Lads

That Andereta Kilmonson is rubbish, and if he’s 22 I’m 222, the guy’s just about bald, if you are gonna promote yourself you could at least be half decent instead of embarrassing yourself in front of hundreds of Geordies……..
