Beye – Team Spirit Is Fantastic

Newcastle United’s player of the season, Habib Beye, is ready to get match fit when Newcastle take on Valencia at St.James’ Park tomorrow afternoon – KO 3:00 pm.

Habib Beye – continuing to get physically fit and match fit

The Senegal international had a great first season at the club, and is already a firm fans’ favorite at Newcastle.

Habib played his first game of the season in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven, and lasted 60 minutes.

Beye has been held up in his training since the squad returned, due to a slight heel injury, that’s kept him on the sidelines for the past two weeks.

The former Marseilles captain, and one of the new leaders at Newcastle, is hoping to get another good run-out against the Spanish cup winners.

“It was great to be back out there in front of the fans at St James’ Park,”

“It was my first game for 10 weeks.” “I got through 60 minutes, which was great, and I have nothing to worry about. “

“Now I am looking forward to Saturday against Valencia.”

“Everybody is looking forward to being ready against Manchester United.”

“The team spirit in the camp is fantastic and, although it will be a tough game, we have to go into this with confidence.”

Habib Beye and his family have taken to Tyneside famously since he arrived, and seems to have a good understanding with the fans, and with what the club is trying to achieve.

He’s probably the best signing we made last year, and we are looking forward to Habib having an even better season this time around.

We need him at his very best if we are to make the break-through we so desperately need this season.

I’m really delighted with Beye’s first season. I can’t help but regret that we didn’t got him a few years back to replace Griffin/Hughes… Insted we got Carr… Bloody hell…

we have signed Nile Ranger (the guy in the directors box at PSV game) he was on trial and scored 2 goals in front of Keegan at the training ground in a game against Motherwell. He is a 17 year old striker formerly on the books of Southampton.

Okay, just for a quick diversion imagine you get to choose what happens between now and the start of the season, being reasonably realistic. No Kaka’s or anything crazy!

If personally I could control the next couple of weeks I’d say we sign Coloccini by Monday, we snap up Derdiyok (4.5M), Burdisso (6M) and Skejbred (4.5M), whilst we bring in 6M for Smith and Amoebi.

Great result and performance against Valencia followed by a fine meal at Gino’s Italian restaurant. We pass a squirrel in top hat and tails doing a performance of ‘singing in the rain’ on the way home. And that’s it. Oh, and no one gets injured!

Off topic I know ! Everyone loves KK, but he is driving me nuts with his stance over Smith, Barton, Duff and Owen.

Those 4 are the biggest collection of ”sicknotes” and underachievers / performers on astronomic wages, ever assembled in the Western world !!!

KK as a rule doesn’t generally seem to like playing youngsters and keeps whinging about the size of the squad, but surely Lua, Kamblera, Edgar, Krul, Baheng et al are worthy of being in the first team squad. Rooney was playing at 16.

Smith out , Derdiyok in , a creative midfielder, possibly Insua and we’re there.
Getting rid of Smith on 60K a week is a no – brainer. Come on KK

Its gonna be alright man, Keegans here.

Nick, Owen if fit is a 20 goal striker and Duff has been one of our best and most hardworking players this pre season.

I agree about the other 2 though

I would offer blackburn Duff for Warnock, apart from the H’pool match hes been average and with his previous bad seasons at the club I defo.. would get rid!

Nick i agree KKs stance on Smith seems strange and ive thought long and hard about why he is reluctant to sell our underperforming players. The only answer i can come up with is that the likes of Barton, Smith and Duff will not necessarily be replaced if moved on.
Worrying times perhaps but i think we can rest assured Keegan is not the source of any problems and that we supporters should back him to the hilt.

BTW in my opinion if we were to sign one player it wouldve been Jose Antonio Reyes as we are seriously lacking pace and guile going forward. If Oba gets injured we are seriously cream crackerd !

nick dreydon………..agree on the names apaprt from owen. he was our top scorer on half a season of games. for sure we want to keep him, he has a natural gift and its something we need. the others though i would say yes. its juest that if we sell, will we repalce with sub two million players – i think we would. ashley calling for top four is a joke at the minute, thats for sure.

Big Willie said that Coliccini would sign along with Derdiyok if the Smith tranfer to Everton gets sorted.

Coliccini is pretty much done but we will maybe not find out if Big Willie was right about Derdiyok if Smith doesn’t agree terms with Everton (that is if he really is on the verge of a move there).
