Stephen Warnock Asks For Transfer

August 12th, 2008 · 160 Comments

Newcastle United left-back target Stephen Warnock has reportedly handed in a transfer request at Blackburn Rovers.

Stephen Warnock - asked for a transfer

Newcastle have been after Warnock for a few weeks now and have already had an initial transfer request turned down by Blackburn.

But this is hardly good news for new manager Paul Ince, who will need to quell the movement of players from the club.

He has already lost David Bentley and Brad Friedel, and will not want to lose another player in Warnock.

But the news is that Warnock is interested in moving to Newcastle, especially since former Liverpool and England legend Kevin Keegan is now manager, and it seems he is determined to make the move.

It seems that if Blackburn do sell they will making a profit on Stephen, since he only joined the Lancashire club in January of 2007 from Liverpool, for just £1.5M, and they are likely to get about twice that amount.

Left-back Warnock has only recently signed an extended contract that would keep him at the club until 2012, but things have changed since Mark Hughes left for Manchester City.

The news that he has now asked for a transfer is being reported by Sky Sports.

Comments welcome.

as good as bridge and shorey.. if not better

  • 4 CRAIGG // Aug 12, 2008 at 19:56

Delighted, Get this sewn up and add a quality holding midfielder (De Jong),

Then sell Shola and Smith, Buy another back up striker and were laughing.

  • 5 StevieA // Aug 12, 2008 at 19:57

This is what happens when Blackburn lose a quality player like Bentley. You begin to get an exodus of players leaving, Santa Cruz will be next mark my words!

Good for us though as Warnock is pretty solid, better defensively than Enrique at the moment and has more experience. He will also be pushing for a place in the England ‘team’ soon but probably more a place on the bench.

I think he would be a good signing and we could forget about the defence for a while and focus on midfield and possibly another striker (viduka type).

  • 6 DANNY TOON // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:04

could anyone tell me why they thick arthur cox left last week? cheers.

  • 7 The Entertainers // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:13

I’d be happy with this signing. Hes from the same stable as Guthrie and they have quality teachers, teaching the right way to play football.

We do need a LB and a first team LB at that. I like Enrique and believe one day he will be a top performer, but at the moment hes no where near as accomplished as Warnock and has a lot to learn. Whether we see the finished Enrique is here at Newcastle is doubtful imo.

On the rumours about potential new signings, i keep hearing there is more than one arriving tomorrow and not just on here, i’ve heard at work and even the reliable NUFC.COM makes reference to it.
If this is true then hats off the Newcastle keeping it from the press AGAIN !!

  • 8 Broadsword // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:23

It’s not true though, we have this every year. Some idiot on a forum pretends to know stuff and has fun winding us all up.

  • 9 micepie // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:26

I think it might take more than 3M.

Warnock can also play defensive mf, I think? Faye can too, which really means that a couple from Milner, Spider, Duff, Barton, Guthrie, Zog or Lua Lua could play an effective attacking mf role and then we do have options in all mf areas

  • 10 magsie // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:31

Where has it said “will be revealed 2 mora”? as in new players!

  • 11 beye the great // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:32

hope so people on here say we need a holding mid we already got butt barton n guthrie

  • 12 Smirn // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:39

What signing he would be if we get him. I thought he played brilliant for Blackburn last year, maybe we can grab another Blackburn player in Christopher Samba as he can play DM and would be a good replacement for Butt. Who is the mystery guy at the PSV game coz it ain’t Ismael Bangoura or Nile Ranger.

  • 13 valle // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:41

    Its Ronaldinho i reckon ;)

maybe pedretti would be a good buy or bresciano they can create and score goals

  • 17 dan // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:51

I think he is a good LB. Good enough to finally replace Bernard. Good age to bring in a defender, 26 like Coloccini. Experienced but not old.
Beye Taylor Coloccini Warnock is a top 10 defense I reckon.

  • 18 Chris H // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:55

Wow, I actually just refreshed without getting that CPU warning.

  • 19 James // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:55

Don’t know why people keep putting FAYE in their team, he is leaving. Almost certain he is on his way. Stoke the latest to bid for him. He won’t be in black and white this season.

Interesting article on BBC Sport website by Mark Lawreson. He says we will be lucky to finish in the top ten and will only do so if Owen scores loads of goals. He also said that Keegan will walk away before the season is over….

  • 20 Chris H // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:56

Wow, I actually just posted something without getting that CPU warning.

  • 21 Chris H // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:57

WTF does Lawrenson know about football. He’d love to see us relegated that tosspot. Take no notice of the bitter scouse reject.

  • 22 Smirn // Aug 12, 2008 at 20:59

    I bloody wish! lol
Hope we put a bid in for derdiyok or someone similar to him we need a striker as of Vid’s injuries. Give Smith another year if he doesn’t come up with the goods then offload him. I think that Smith jus needs to get his bottle back, then he show us what he can do.

  • 23 Toon1978 // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:14

Think Lawro wants to read M.Ashleys interview. Anyway WHEN DOES Lawro have anything good to say about us, he is a complete wank3r along with all the other idiots south of the border. They love to slate us and they would HATE to see us succeed. I say they rot in hell and may the demons rip them from limb to limb hahahahahahaha yes i know maybe a little harsh but so what.

Oooh sos for the double post

  • 26 micepie // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:18

Just read two Premiership predictions so far – including Lawrenson’s – and they’re typically gloomy about the Toon. In fact, virtually all predict a season of struggle for us. They also predict that a few of our players will eat to many burgers and get fat (not really, but I thought I’d make this more interesting).

A couple I have read so far both say Taylor is the sole quality player in our defence!
That clearly indicates that the two writers have no idea what they’re talking about, whether their predictions come true or not! If we also sign Warnock plus Colo, then Beye, Warnock, Colo and, say, Faye would be by far the strongest back-line that I can ever remember us having (and with back up players like Enrique, Taylor and Bassong!).

Much would then depend on our attacking players a) staying fit and b) performing well for us to prove anyone wrong.

  • 27 Tom // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:19

I can’t see Faye leaving, I think its just media meddling. He’ll either play alongside Coloccini, or in front of him in a DM role.

warnock will do but i dont think he’s the best newcastle could do

  • 43 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:41

na no proof….jus the thing thats happened with all of our transfers and bids that the media have got hold of…everythigns died 4 a time…until the press 4get abotu it…then it rises up and weve either got it wrapped or weve failed… aimar, collocini, modric, ect as soon as the press got involved it all stalled until it blew over…then came back out of the blue, lyk our latest cueller bid aswell, and has anyone herd anything about baptista or reyes in a few weeks…no…exactly…the finger is pointing at 1 if not both of them….and ashley did say he wanted a majorsigning, all of our big money bids have so far been on playmakers and attacking players..again pointing the finger at those 2

  • 44 sweendog // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:42

Paul .. baptista is a probability but he’s in contact with Roma I think (theres a wage dispute) … as for reyes he’s signed for Benfica or somebody like taht a couple of days ago

  • 45 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:42

clarke 19 rangers, he said the players would be unveiled tomoro at the open day, he just said they had signed 2day….which can be kept covered up quite easily…like everythign has been at nufc l8ly

  • 46 sirjasontoon // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:44

Anyone would be a good signing right now..c’mon ashley..stop acting like Rick Astley and let’s see some fookin toon money action cos I am getting bored stiff clicking refresh for 3 weeks solid with nowt going on at all grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

  • 47 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:44

sweendog thanks for the info…ill check out the reyes situation, and can u confirm wheather baptista said he would prefer a move to a premier league club, or was that someone else from spain we were after?

  • 50 Graham // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:47

Can’t see a big name signing tomorrow lads. If - and its a big if saying Fat Fred left us £100m in the brown stuff, we do make a big (£18m+) signing, it will be towards the end of August.

Having said that i’d happily take one tomorrow and put him in for Sunday to spank Fergusons wrinkly Scottish arse!

  • 51 Thomas // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:50

    It was with roma sweendog…

  • 52 Smirn // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:51

Hmm av got a few thoughts who it might be Paul

  • 53 Graham // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:52

And if we are gonna make a big name signing it will be for a attacking midfielder - we already have Owen & Martins up front and the back 4 is taking shape nicely. Someone in the Beardsley mold; quick footed, ugly, gets his share of goals - Goofy Ronaldhino anyone?

  • 54 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:52

sweendog, thats only a rumour tho isnt it?? nothing official lyk…and ims ure there was reports of us having a bid accepted awhiel back for 7m or sank lyk that…or 8 or 9 cant remember…but would surprise me…ya know how long things take to get wrapped up by club l8ly…just htink…baptista…barton…collocini…we may not be the team…but wed certainly be the team that kicked the shit out of the other teams…especially if smith got back into old ways…thinkt hats what keegans got planned here…he jsut couldnt say that as it would give to much away so he had to use the term fittest

  • 55 Shearer#1 // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:53

Baptista’s agent says Roma won’t pay his 50k a week wages & Fenerbache are interested in him now. I would sell Smith, that would free up 50k a week & sign Baptista coz I think he is capable of getting 15+ goals a season if he plays up front regularly. Also, I don’t know if the Warnock transfer will happen coz we’ve bid £2.5m & blackburn want £5m.

  • 56 51times // Aug 12, 2008 at 21:53

Ronaldinho signed for Milan you fool.

  • 57 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:01

i reckon we should keep smith…just adjust the contract…say…put his wages dwn…and add a scoring and appearence bonus in maybe…give him one last chance….have we tried the smith - duke combination that leeds kikd ass with?? shrotly before they got in the shizzle and lsot their wallet??

this may seem stupid…but…could we nto sell given…surely hes on high wages…imo harpers better anyway…and with krul and forster pushign through…do we really need him…and his big wages…especially as we could get a large sum in for him…im not sayin do it but if wages are that mcuh of a problem it would benefit the team as we could sign someone in a different position

  • 58 dick // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:04

Roundup of todays laughable paper stories:

We are after Diego Tristan - What a load of rubbish, no way in hell do we want this player. Another example of newspapers recycling old stories, this one from the Robson era I think. He has been past it for years, is completely injury prone and is 32.

Stoke have bid 2 million for (unhappy) Faye. Why would he want to go to a club like Stoke when he was a regular for us? Where do the papers get the idea that he is unhappy, he has never said anything to suggest that he is and Keegan seems to like him because he was a mainstay in the team last year.

Milner going to Aston Villa. Another story that wont go away. The papers can’t be bothered to do real journalistic work so they just print the same story and maybe change the transfer fee etc. Keegan likes him, he has told us this several times, he wants to convert him to a central midfielder in the future. He was also probably the best player on the pitch against Valencia.

Emile Heskey to Newcastle. Say no more.

sorry lads but at the mo im kind ov pissed off with the toon, colocinis not there everyone where linked with isnt there, ive got a gut feeling we aint getting no 1,not evin colocini,im fed up with this transfer saga, bet u we dont get warnock eva, palocycinni n derdiyok were just kiddin ourselves, sorry to be down beat but personally i think ashleys a joke

  • 64 Shearer#1 // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:17

RE paul: The Viduka/Smith partnership that got Leeds relegated in 2004? As for Shay Given, he’s the 2nd best keeper in the Prem behind Cech imo. Smith don’t score & Viduka’s too injury prone, we could def do with someone like Baptista. Also, I wish we’d just make a bid for Moutinho, he’d be on less wages than Modric & would make a massive difference to our team.

  • 65 Ross G // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:18

ED CAN U WRITE A REPORT ON HOW SHIT THE DAILY MAIL ARE, THEY SHOULD GET ALAN OLIVER TO WRITE FOR THEM……..Today they are saying that Villa are bidding £6m to get Milner, now one he obviously wont leave, but this comes all of sudden after we asked £9m for him, has he got so much worse in a month. Rubbish. Not only this but they also say ‘UNHAPPY’ Faye is going to Stoke, there stupid writer probably got the source mixed with on trial Amdy Faye, but still they say he is unhappy cos he only played 22 times last year, but forget to mention the reason being that he was injured alot at the start. I remember a long time ago when I first lost faith PROPERLY in the Mail when in Robsons early reign they reported we had signed Athletico Madrids star striker Kiko for £8m, I was estatic thought it was a great buy they even mentioned he passed a medical signed a 4 year deal on 40k p/w. I went to work thinking quality, then on checking the web i realised not one other site reported it not even an interest, but the Mail said we had signed him. The are so so rubbish at life in general, I understand (even though I condemn it) the press making up stories to sell papers, but at least use a story thats more realistic like Ameobi to Norwich, Smith to Everton, or Newcastle to sign Coloccini. Please make a article so everone can share the hatred of the worst footy section in newspaper history

  • 66 scottish mag // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:20

the reason that the coloccini deal is taking so long is that he actually did use article 17(websters) to cancel his contract which needs 2 weeks notice to do so and shall sign on a free, he has signed a pre contract and shall complete the deal when the 2 weeks notice are up(this week sometime), newcastle will pay the compensation

also jonas gutierrez has convinced friend and fellow international lucho gonzalez to join the toon who in turn has convinced porto team-mate queresma to also join in a £40m double signing

there will be no derdiyok as the third signing is warnock

  • 67 51times // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:22

toon 24/7 - Except that Coloccini was at the Valencia game, and Ashley had his name on his shirt.

And Ed, let me post properly will you? The denizens of this blog NEED me, you seen the other day with fernando, there were people telling me to “let him have it” etc. They recognise that I am the most able defender of this blog and Newcastle in general. Not to mention that there have been so many times over the past few days I could have straightened a few things out for people, such as toon24/7 up there.

And while we’re on the subject, how come you didn’t punish that sectarian wanker ronaldeano for starting it all in the first place? As if we Geordies don’t have enough people winding us up.

If we are going to unveil any other players at the open training session then they’re not going to be immediately recognisable players otherwise there’d be some indication of a possible move somewhere.

Someone like Ismael Bangoura (if it was him at the PSV game) is more likely because only Tom_Toon picked him out. Everyone else wouldn’t give him a second thought if they saw him out and about.

  • 89 sweendog // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:43

Defo not quaresma .. lucho (don’t think so) .. its got to be player thats not in the champions league or wants out from a team in the champions league (the only one of these I know is Matias Fernandez, but he played in london on sat. possibility)
I reckon tomorrow is Colo and Derdiyok .. and thats it .. maybe near the end of the window we may get a break though but defo not tomorrow.

  • 90 sweendog // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:44

Paul .. very amusing .. he also likes the coke along with ronaldinho

    I’m from Brazil.

and I can tell you mates: baptista is PURE S****. he’s being called to the national team because brazilian coach Dunga is somehow blind, he’s like Souness to judge a player’s value/ability.

  • 95 AndyNUFC // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:51

Coloccini is a done deal for sure. My info is that Derdiyok is coming depending on Smith going.

    m. - If it`s someone who checked out newcastles nightlife than its definitely Andriano from Inter. :D

  • 103 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:55

the fat 1….he will get what he wants (nightlife) and he will revive hsi career with kk’s fitness programme

  • 104 Ross // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:56

toon24/7-thats why you need to read the interview mate! all the doubts you list are answered in the interview. i was nervous before but im confident in ashleys judgements now and if we want people, and they’re available, we’ll make the effort to get them, and we’ll make the best effort we can.

  • 105 JC // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:56

    Given
    Beye Taylor Coloccini Warnock
    Milner Gutrie Butt Jonas
    Arshavin
    Owen/Martins
Never going to happen but it would be good.
Where is big willie how come he has come out with this
Arshavin and xavi stuff then he could just say they rejected us and no-one would think any different
like the inler thing so how sure is he of these rumours.

  • 106 m. // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:58

this adriano from inter… have you heard Ronaldo’s story (the fat one, world cup’s greatest goalscorer) with shemales? he apparently have done the same here in his present club, são paulo. and this guy is the last person in EARTH that i’d want to see in Newcastle. he is a thug like barton, an alky like gazza, and a prick inside the area like ameobi.

hope it’s the LB, I like this guy, he’d be quite a player for KK… a very offensive LB.

  • 107 AndyNUFC // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:59

We would not buy Xavi or Arshavin because they don’t fit into our age policy, and don’t have the heart for the club.

  • 108 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 22:59

it does make sense tho…from both clubs points of view, inetr want to offload him, ashley wants a big name, kk wants more atatcking options, and a big striker to replace dukes
and fromt he players points of view, nightlife is what he wants, and to revive hsi career, and is kk not the master at reviving careers?? his fitness programe will help him lsoe the belly, and was he not touted as having the potential to be the best striker ever at 1 point??
also, even witht he ability to break a set of scales, he would still do more running than dukes
ow yer…and ti fits in nicely with the youth policy as he is the right side of 30

  • 109 toon 24/7 // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:00

    sorry paul
i hope we sign inler larrson cisse but we dont seem to do out, every day i watch clubs spending and were not,we need to get someone soon man ,im being negative cos theres nowt to be possitive about at the mo

  • 110 Toon1978 // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:02

Wouldn’t want Ronaldo TBH last big pay day for him. Won’t happen anyway.

  • 111 m. // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:03

Paul - in the beggining of the year, he played the São Paulo State championship, against 3 divisional rivals, and the other 16 teams, of the 2nd, 3rd division - scoring merely 8 goals. The top scorer was a lad from Palmeiras, who scored 23.

    I guess he’s over.

  • 112 AndyNUFC // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:03

Paul I could not care less how amazing Adriano is, he could be the best player in the world but if he didn’t have the heart for the club then he would be pointless.

  • 113 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:05

ow yer, and the press have had nothign onit…which would fit in with the privacy policy at newcastle

‘he is a thug like barton, an alky like gazza, and a prick inside the area like ameobi.’

has kk not said that barton has changed, just like adriano could, gazza was only an alchi because he got out of football and came off the rails as hsi life had dissapeared, and btw, azza was a ledgend, so…why say things liek that about him….you think if he could read your comments liek that about him it would help him??
and a prick inside the box?? adriano is one of the best finishers in the world
i would love to see him at newcastle, no matter the price, i would still be happy even if kk paid 50m for him, as when on form and fit, is possibly the best int he world

  • 114 Jinal // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:06

Has a press conference been announced for tomorrow?

  • 115 m. // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:07

mate, i think gazza is an absolute idool and legend - loved newcastle, the toon and the game. take out the love for the team, the toon and the game, leave only the alky part - and that’s adriano.

the reason for “a prick like ameobi” is above. one of his goals, was a clear handball.

  • 116 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:08

do you not think he would have the passion for the club??? if the club was to help him fulfil his potential…

  • 117 TooninooT // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:10

    Big signing, Samuel Eto’o!!
This is what i reckon, not bullsh1tt1n, on 606 a week or so ago, someone made an article saying “Eto’o considers playing for Kev”, apparently he wants to join to help fire us back into Europe.

Alot of players admire Keegan and Eto’o COULD be one of them.

The person who made the article actually told everyone that Geremi had signed before it was actually confirmed aswell, and no one believed him, turned out he was right.

Anyway justed wanted to let you know, MA said it would be a big signing, KK wants a striker and imagine Eto’o up there with Martins and Owen, that is one hell of a front line!!!
With a great keeper, very strong looking defence if Warnock arrives.
Midfield looking superb with Guthrie and Guierrez in there now, add a playmaker to that, and we are off lads!!

This may not be reliable, but it is very reasonable.

  • 118 Ryan // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:10

    I think that article-http://www.rivals.net/news/pgarticle.aspx?artid=13498_3969979&id=55
makes interesting reading. Im still optimistic for tomorrow, maybe Coloccini and one more, Warnock or Derdiyok is my bet.

  • 119 m. // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:12

i don’t think so… his present club, sao paulo fc, has given him a thousand of “second chancees”, and the headlines always are ‘adriano is found out in a nightclub with prostitues’, he misses training, stuff like that… he ain’t a professional at all. he’s past his best, i guess.

a bit of masel: i know what i’m talking about because i live in brazil, and spent a couple of years at tyneside. i still love the toon and NUFC, and always try to be alongisde them. like maybe, tim vickery from BBC.

  • 120 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:12

m8…i couldnt care weather he scores with his had his foot his head or weatehr he wipes his dingdong out n slaps it in witht hat, do you not think that the passion shown in getting the ball int he net for your team is greater than that of playing fairly?? a goals a goal m8 and if a player shows his passion by getting it in the net by whatever means neccasery then thats better….what about at the other end…do yout hink taylor was a prick in the box for doign whatever he could to stop a goal being conceded??

  • 121 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:14

ryan it wont be warnock because he handed his transfer request in 2day…therefore there is no way the club could have accepted hsi transfer request, agreed a fee with newcastle, the player could have agreed personal terms and passed a meical by 2moro……init msuh

  • 122 m. // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:15

“do you not think that the passion shown in getting the ball int he net for your team is greater than that of playing fairly??”

    sure.

but with a goal rate per game of 0,4 against lower divisional teams, missing training, being in headlines for misbehaviour, would you think that someone like this really have any passion for the game?

  • 123 Ryan // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:15

True, but Cuellar was done swiftly

  • 124 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:16

  • 126 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:18

you could say the same abotu barton, but so far it appears that kk has worked the magic on him…

and ryan, yes it was done swiftly, but less than 24 hours is almost impossible to make a transfer in…especially for wise & co

was the same not said about owen when we signed him??? after his dismal era at real

  • 130 Obafan // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:23

Is there going to be a MAJOR digning tomorrow. After all the comments that I read I’ve got my doubts. Yesterday I was pretty excited about the story, but today my optimism in getting a big name signing is slowly going away.

I read in a post of BW that INLER was the major signing who would have broken the club record fee. Come on he is good player, but not a world class player.

My bet would be either Arshavin or Xavi. But is it possible???

I really hope NUFC can find a solution for either Smith or Ameobi, cause that would clear the way for Derdiyok. I would love to have Derdiyok at Newcastle, cause he simply is a very good player.

  • 131 gordond // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:27

I was on the throne when Owen signed. My wife shouted up that we had him and i came running down the stairs dangle berries hanging from my arse trousers down to my ankles to see sky sports. So no for me it wasn’t the same.

  • 133 Baxxy // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:33

I have a feeling its derdiyok, got amazing potential at 20 and could turn into a world class player, be a major coup for us if we signed him

  • 134 Paul // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:35

thats a funny story u got their m8…but wasnt he reported to ahve lost his touch after being at madrid….and alright david james then….after being the biggest goalkeeping failure of premiership hsitory, at the age of 37 he goes and wins the england jersey back?? the talent is always there its jsut whetehr youc an fidn it, and as kk has proven int he past, he makes palyers find the talent

  • 135 Matt // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:38

Warnock is a good solid left back and I’d be more than happy if we signed him. Good competition for Enrique and a step in the right direction imo.

Now if we could only sign inler and a CF too…

  • 136 Warwick Hunt // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:51

    BREAKING NEWS.
The three new signing to be revealed are will catch everyone by suprise, as usual the deals have been kept very quiet so other clubs don’t come in for then. Iknow they are a bit unknown to many on here but I have first hand knowledge of these players :-
    Cavan Neil.
    Aidan James.
    Lucas Christian.
Think about it people these players fit right into our new policy of getting young players before they are house hold names and dennis Wise has been working overtime to secure these signings.
C.N. 7 year old. (Just turned, Saturday).
    A.J. 3 1/2 year old.
    L.N. 4 weeks old. (Today).
They can play all over the (local) park and have an abundance of energy.
C.N and A.J. are available for the game against Man Utd but unfortunately L.C. may be side lined along with Michael Owen with a slight case of Nappy Rash.

    Warwick Hunt P##S OFF

  • 138 Jim // Aug 12, 2008 at 23:54

The signing which will break our record transfer is being completed, and will be unveiled tomorrow at the training session. It’s Gareth Barry!
Villa have been using the Liverpool deal as a screen under a promise from Ashley that if they do they can have Milner for a reduced price. Liverpool thought they were signing him but have been messed around by O’Neill, who withdrew at the last minute because of our deal.
This is from a source close to Keegan himself

warnock or some other LB or RB is definitely needed, Taylor or Bassong could back up Beye but I would much rather see someone who solely plays on the flanks of the back four take that role, whether that is warnock, enrique, or somebody else we sign who knows. Its not Edgar’s time yet

I think Colo’s deal is a done deal for sure, the club is just not annoucing it is because they doesnt want to have a press conference for him and have to do another one for the next signing, so I reckon there is another signing on the way whoever that is. And regarding a major signing for tomorrow, I would say Owen contract extension as a major signing.
