Faye Moves To Stoke City For £2.25M

There is news coming through that Stoke City have signed Senegal defender Abdoulaye Faye from Newcastle for £2.25M on Friday.

Abdoulaye Faye apparently has agreed a three-year contract with the Potters and could well make his debut against one of his former clubs, Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

The 30-year-old made just 22 appearances for Newcastle United, who he only joined last year, from Bolton Wanderers.

The deal has been officially confirmed by the Stoke City chief executive Tony Scholes on the Stoke City web-site.

Scholes said:

“Abdoulaye is a fantastic player with top flight experience in abundance.”

“We have worked extremely hard to conclude the deal, and we are absolutely delighted to have signed a player of his quality.”

Faye will line up alongside fellow Senegal international and former Newcastle player Amdy Faye, who joined Stoke on a one-year deal from Charlton earlier this week.

Kevin Keegan will now have the opportunity to bring in another central defender, before the end of the month, and we are hearing some reports from London that suggest Anton Ferdinand is indeed a target of the Tyneside club.

We’ll have to wait and see but the club needs another central defender now that Faye has left – that’s a certainty.

Spurs are going down. When they do we should snatch bentley, dos santos and modrich from them.
