Jonas Gutierrez has today welcomed his Argentina team-mate Fabricio Coloccini to the Newcastle United club, and says he is just thrilled to be playing alongside his country-man week-in-week-out on Tyneside.
Fabricio Coloccini – cannot speak English yet
Fabricio cannot speak any English yet – so it looks like Jonas will be speaking for him, until he learns – probably Geordie English.
The two Argentine Internationals have been Spanish league players for the past three seasons with former Deportivo La Coruna defender Coloccini often charged with task of nullifying the wing play of Jonas Gutierrez and his Real Mallorca comrades.
The 25-year-old Gutierrez told nufc.co.uk today:
“I know from playing against Fabricio in La Liga and as a team-mate for Argentina what a good player he is – I’m just happy we’re on the same side all of the time now!”
“He is a top defender and was one of the best in Spain, but I also believe he will like the Premier League because he is very quick.”
“I am very happy that we have another Argentinean at Newcastle and I will do all I can to help him.†“I’ve only been at Newcastle for a few weeks but I will be telling Fabricio how much I have enjoyed it so far.â€
“He does not speak any English so I am happy to be his interpreter until he learns.”
We are really pleased this signing has finally come through – now for the next one.
