Newcastle Bogged Down On Tiago Deal

It’s now looking like Everton are set beat Newcastle United to Juventus midfielder Tiago.

Tiago – Everton look like getting the player

The loan deal for the Portugal international Tiago has stalled as Newcastle have been unable to reach any agreement with Juventus over the amount of wages they are willing to pay the midfielder for this coming season.

And it’s this failure between the clubs to agree terms that has now alerted Everton, who are now in the driver’s seat to bring Tiago to the Blues and partner Tiago with their current Portugal midfielder Nuno Valente.

Everton manager David Moyes hasn’t brought in any new players yet this summer, since Everton finished in 5th place and qualified for a UEFA Cup position for this coming season, and beat Newcastle 3-1 in the final game of the season.

David Moyes is still thought to be keen on Alan Smith, although it‘s being reported that deal will not take place in the immediate future.

We do expect Smith to move on this month, but perhaps Newcastle are first trying to secure a replacement before they let Alan leave the club.
