Newcastle After Javier Saviola On Loan

It certainly looks like we’ve gone Argentinean big time, having just signed both Gutierrez and Coloccini, who both play for the National side.

Javier Saviola – 26 year old Real Madrid striker

And news today, from the Evening Chronicle that Newcastle seem keen on Real Madrid striker Javier Saviola, and the club are hoping they can get him initially on a loan spell at the club.

Newcastle Vice-President Tony Jimenez and Technical Director Jeff Vetere, are working the deal and are said to be working with their Spanish connections to try to pull it off.

We do expect another striker to be brought in plus at least two more defenders, and hopefully a play-making central midfielder.

Saviola is only 26 but moved to Barcelona in 2001, and in 2004 was sent out on loan first to Monaco and then to Sevilla in 2005.

Javier played 157 times for Barcelona and scored 68 goals, and in 2007 moved to Real Madrid, where he has appeared 17 times with just 3 goals.

Throughout his career he has been known as El Conejito, the Little Rabbit, and we think he would be an excellent player for Kevin Keegan to coach and coax the best out of the player.

Saviola has obvious class – there’s no doubt about that.

And a loan deal would be just fine, so we can see just how he would do at St. James’ Park – and the fact that Gutierrez and Coloccini are already here, will make it that much easier for him to say yes to a proposed deal.

Go for it!
