Kevins Wants 3 More Players – And He’ll Get Them

Both sides this afternoon had their chances to take all 3 points in the second half, but Keegan was more than happy to leave with a point, in a pulsating game this afternoon.

Kevin Keegan – we still need 3 more players

Kevin Keegan was happy after the game and told Sky Sports News:

“Whatever side Manchester United put out, they’re a great side,”

“You can’t carry anybody here. But if you put in a good performance and have a good attitude you just might get a result.”

“That is what happened, and I thought we deserved the point.”

“If we can come here and do that we can do it anywhere.”

The display will only help persuade owner Mike Ashley to payroll more players into the club, because the three new boys on display Coloccini, Jonas Gutierrez – do we now call him Jonas since that’s the name on his shirt now? – and Danny Guthrie all had really excellent games.

Kevin certainly knows a good player when he sees one, and we would like to see a striker, left back, and central midfielder brought in, before the end of the month.

Kevin has woven this team together so well, that the most impressive thing today was the team display, they all played well together, and it’s almost unfair to pick out individual players, because it was such a fantastic team display.

Kevin continued:

“All the players know we need two or three, and I think we’ll get them,”

“But it’s not just about getting players in and putting bodies around the place, they have to be good players, very good players.”

“Jonas (Gutierrez) is terrific, (Fabricio) Coloccini has shown his class after just one training session and young (Danny) Guthrie, I had him as my man of the match.”

Kevin needs to continue what he’s done so far this summer, and he’s right that we need very good players – not just bodies to make up the numbers.

Our squad is small but chock full of talent on the evidence of today’s performance – and surely Mike Ashley will now be more than willing to help Kevin bring in another 3 good ones, if he can find them.
