Some VERY dangerous coming in there from the left…. on another day a couple of those volleys would have gone in… we showed glimpses of class, what we need now are 2 OR 3 more players,to cover the holes of none class we have in our team!!!

Just hoping that these 3 signings are sorted sooner rather than later, don’t want to have to sit up all night on transfer deadline lol.

Great start to the week extermely quiet on the transfer front. If we are unable to get 3-4 more players in before the close of the transfer window we will struggle this season.

Toon1978 it has been a bit quiet aint it, i cant wait until the window closes mate. I think our signings will all come in on the last three days.

I am one of the few who actually WANTS Malouda here. For 10million it would be a good signing for us as he is a quality, direct, strong winger

    What do you think?

I think Malouda could find form here, he has been unlucky at chelsea, but at lyon he was fantastic and he’s still young.

I am still undecided on Malouda mate, i wanted to see him play for Chelsea yesterday against Wigan but he was a sub and only came on towards the end. I heard we are after Di Maria and a kid called diego buonanotte but i must say i aint seen much of them only saw clips on You tube which isn’t really any good tbh. We are in need of a left back i hope we succeed in sorting this out.

According to reports in Norway, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United have made bids in the region of £6million for Rosenborg midfielder Per Ciljan Skjelbred. The Norwegian club are set to decide on the offers at a board meeting, with Tottenham and Portsmouth also linked with Skjelbred.

Skjelbred has signed a new contract already.

I personally would be over the moon if we signed Malouda.

Malouda aint exactly young at 28 (just turned), but if we signed him, in theory we could get a good 5 years out of him

I cannot believe Man City got Vincent Kompany, what i cannot understand is why none of the top clubs, including ourselves going in for him.

i trust the judgement if we do sign him but i dont like wat ive seen of him at chelsea.
Just because someone signs a new contract doesnt mean they can’t be purchased 😀

yes but nick then all 3 current strikers will be fit and we will be saying we have too many strikers.

who ever we bring in, in my oppinion martins and owen should always play upfront togethor if fit.

Blunderland are going to sign A.Ferdinand for 8 or so million, i believe they are being laughed at nobody in their right mind would pay that for A.Ferdinand. He is only going there because nobody else is in for him. Coloccini AND Taylor are better players by a long shot.

I was hoping to see Derdiyok. We need some physical presence. Any half decent club will have 4 strikers to rotate. Owen and Martins are obvious first 2, but the others??
Viduka – 15 games if you are lucky
    Carroll – Not good enough
Ameobi and Smith – Don’t get me started

This is why I believe we desperately need at least one striker.

spyro-i normally agree with you, but i think we could get better as far as the midfield goes for 12 mil, someone who would have a bigger impact on the first team. who would malouda start ahead of?
also think cover at LB and a big man up front are vital

malouda is awfully overrated i would rather buy 3 4m players than him for 12m

    we’ve got good wingers

jonas and collochini are good but a couple of english players would be good

    whats the team for tommorow?

i’ve bet on guthrie to score at anytime

he scored twice in preseason – is playing well

    8-1 at paddypower

    Areet all!

In was there on sat with my new ticket and boy did I enjoy the couple of pints I put away with other fellow Toon fans afterwards!

But and a footie note. Zog and Gutierrez linked up well in second half, Guthrie silently good (ie. ney real complaints apart from 2 bad passes in 1st half), Collocini bossed back-line v well and a near captain in 1st half.

Zog good but defo NOT a LB! Cover needed!

    On the Toon!
