FT: Coventry City 2 Newcastle 2 - Extra Time Being Played

August 26th, 2008 · 112 Comments

Newcastle looked to have this game tied up, when they held onto their 2-1 lead and when the referee said 2 minutes of injury time, it looked like we could win this game, even if we should have had it wrapped up long before the end.

But after 93 minutes and 10 seconds exactly, Coventry got an amazing equalizer when direct from a throw-in out on the right, Coventry captain Scott Dan headed in, when he beat Coloccini to the ball.

But we thought there was 2 minutes of added time to play?  That’s just the way this game has gone, and it’s all to play for now - and we must still win this game. This will be a good test of character for the lads. They should be through now - but they’re not.

We’ll have the full time report after the game - we’re exhausted - never mind the players.

How many times are we going to hand the ball over to them in front of our goal? We’re asking to lose this.

    Again! And a silly foul.

ROb what’s your problem mate, all you do is whine about Given. Now it’d be something if there was one thing to whine about but there’s not. He’s been excellent so far this season, has been brilliant for us. Neither of the goals were his fault, and he’s kept the score down.

Mighty MO is leading our very own Geordie Justice League.

Mister Bates is doing everything he can to give Coventry as good a chance as possible. Not only did we have the added added time at the end of the game that enabled Coventry to score the equaliser, but Nicky Butt conceded a freekick because he touched the football whilst being within 5 yards of the opposing player.

  • 20 mitch // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:22

MA has to give our skipper a new contract 2 goals in 2 games both winners please give MO a new contract. Rob I respect your opinion but have you been on holiday as the reason we have 4 points in the premier league is because of shay I tell you if he was english he would be englans no 1

Nice to pick up the win, but that match at the Emirates Saturday is looking like a pretty tall order.

  • 22 MAG PIE // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:24

    Dear Mr Keegan

    I love you BUT

Enrique is a left back = please play him there
Nzogbia is a left winger - please play him there

    Please

  • 23 Davies // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:25

Does anybody else think we should buy Clinton Morrison?

  • 24 bear pit // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:25

Defence were very impressive imo even though they scored twice. Colo / Bassong obviously my CB pairing with Taylor cover.

  • 25 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:26

we are going to have a KNACKERED squad against Arsenal. Now MA definitely needs to buy 3 or 4 players.

  • 26 AndyNUFC // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:27

A good result on Saturday against Arsenal will come down to who we get in between now and then and whether they’ll be able to play.

Still, 3-2 isn’t really such a good result considering we didn’t have a striker on for the most part.

  • 27 Oba // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:28

We actually played really well tonight. Two players were awful though, Bassong and Beye. Slow to react, gave the ball away too often, and were generally poor. Bassong out for Taylor, and we have a good defence, if Enrique keeps up that level of performance.

We need a bigger ’squad’ though, so a couple more signings would be nice. A DM especially.

Happy with tonight though, we passed the ball brilliantly. As for Jonas, did anyone actually see him give the ball away?

  • 28 dacvid toon // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:29

my good but did beye have a shocker today.he was awful.thought bassong did well for his debut and enrique was very good 2.colo was fantastic with the ball on the deck, but suffered with the high ball.given made 1 excellent save and had no chance with the goals.guthrie was very average in the middle.hoped more from him.nzog should be on the wing all the time just not a very good defender.jonas has some feet and he,s strong.he,s going to be a big player for us.milner had about 10 shots but they were all crap.but he worked his socks off up front.and butt was butt.

  • 29 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:29

Yes i agree Bassong has now shown that he is good enough to pair with Colo, he didnt hardly make a mistake in that game, super player

  • 30 Oba // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:29

And a big NO to Clinton Morrison. :D

  • 31 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:30

Oba i asked before, WHAT, ARE, YOU, ON, ABOUT!?!?! Bassong was class today

  • 32 ALEX // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:31

Enrique is a left back? yes but very average please buy someone else.
Nzogbia is a left winger? Oh yes! But please teach him to pass the ball and he will be perfect
Geremi is a football player??? …

  • 33 MAG PIE // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:31

Spyro - earlier comment elsewhere - I agree - Beye looked short of match-fit. This may have helped. Probably the 1st time he has been the worst of our back 4 - but’s that’s more to do with the other 3 being so damn good - he was just ok.

I thought Enrique was very good.
Coloccini is the first defender I’ve seen in a while who obviously enjoys defending - very solid.
    Bassong oozes class.

All 4 signings are bloody good - well done to whoever spotted them 3 more the same please.

  • 34 Dave B // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:31

Brilliant performance from the lads tonight, two years ago we would have crumbled in that position. Good to see KK’s taking us in the right direction (Bassong looked v. good tonight also, definately one for the future.)

  • 35 Oba // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:31

    Bassong didn’t make a mistake??? :D

Made at least three. One almost cost us a goal, but they hit the bar. Taylor is far better than him.

  • 36 Davies // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:32

Didn’t think so. I’ve had a smoke. Sorry.

  • 37 dacvid toon // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:32

  • 38 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:32

there are some idiots on here tonight aint theere. Enrique had a good game and assisted the winner

  • 39 AndyNUFC // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:32

Bassong made just as many or less mistakes than Taylor usually does. Both Bassong and Taylor are as good as each other and fantastic buys for the future.

  • 40 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:34

Oba what game was you watching!? read everyone elses comments, Bassong was good today. How anyone can say Taylor is far better than him is beyond me

  • 41 dacvid toon // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:35

thought bassong was really good.still have taylor in there ahead of him though

  • 42 Oba // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:35

Bassong being praised because he’s a new signing and must be instantly amazing? Thought so.

Taylor and Colo is our best partnership, Bassong is good cover, nothing more.

Spyro, when I said he was slow, I meant as in reaction time, not actual pace.

  • 43 shaz // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:35

Spyro = agree - maybe we should ask Ed to make this a membership only blog. Some new names talking balls.

Oba - you are not new but JC what are you on about - Bassong was immense.

  • 45 ERIC CRAMMY MAG // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:35

three or four quality sighnings and this coulb be a very good season heres hopeing cashley

  • 46 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:35

Even the commentators stated several times during the game that Bassong is a quality player

  • 47 reillers // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:35

Morrison started and played well enough for Ireland a few years ago, then he dropped off the face of the planet. I had wondered where he disappeared to.
He at his time, was a decent enough player, but too inconsistent. The wee lad was good tonight though in fairness though.

  • 48 Davies // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:36

Got to agree with Spyro. I thought Bassong looked good today. Man I love Michael Owen though.

  • 49 Ben K // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:37

Enrique was good but a bit clumsy as always. He does well going forward, but Beye, Bassong, and Jose all gave the ball away too much.

  • 50 51times // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:37

I agree with Andy, Taylor and Bassong look on the same level to me - except that Bassong is faster and Taylor is more experienced.

  • 51 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:37

Oba like i said, most other on here feel he played well, commentators said he played well. Your on your own with your view, or at most a minority

  • 52 ALEX // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:38

Enrique had a good game going forward, needlessly conceded a corner we almost got the third equalizer from, conceded the throw in we got the second equalizer from. Was the worst defender in our back 4 in the first 90 min but played okay.
In the extra time i have to say Beye was average also.
Bassong - two mistakes in the game, good player.

  • 53 scott9 // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:38

does nayone no were u can get some highlights from please

  • 54 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:38

Beye played poor by his standards but didnt have a shocker, Geremi was poor. Bassong and Enrique both played well and staked their claim for a first team place

  • 55 ChrisL // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:39

Great performance by the boys. Really proud today. Unlucky not to win it by many more in normal time. Great effort.

  • 56 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:40

    Alex

Enrique gave away the throw in for their second goal, yes but he didn what your supposed to do when placed in that position. He had no one to pass to so he had to knock it out of play

  • 57 dacvid toon // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:40

for highlights try 101 great goals.com and also when did nile ranger sign.and does any1 know anything bout him?

  • 58 IrishMan // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:40

I agree with Reillers - Morrison was very inconsistent when he played for Ireland, though will get the odd amazing goal.

Four days to recover - Arsenal are poor (by their standards) and low in morale at the moment. I think we could get another top four away draw.

  • 59 Oba // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:41

I don’t usually comment on here, usually just browse the articles. Bassong has potential I’ll admit, and there are a few aspects to his game that are brilliant. However, I don’t think he had as good a game as some are going on about.

Taylor is harshly criticised by a lot of our fans imo. As was Milner, but all of a sudden people love him. He’s always been this good, never should sell, he’s Newcastle through and through.

  • 60 Jimi // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:42

Great game, good football. Coventry fought very hard, and to say we were away from home I think the team did great showing their class in the end.
All the players looking fit and up for it. Roll on Arsenal……..just hope we’re not to tired!

  • 61 mitch // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:42

I think we are starting to look like we have a back four beye was a bit off today but we will let him have that as we won anyway IMO taylor is better with bassong as back up coloccini definitely our number one. Hartlepool just went through would like them at st james but we will probably get a premier league tie

  • 62 Michael // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:42

You can’t complain about the added time. It’s 2 minutes minimum added time, not precisely 2 minutes added time. We’d had several long throws against us and should have learnt not to give another away or defend it better.

  • 63 Edd Case // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:43

Some of you on here talk absolute crap.

Bassong - considering it was his frist game for us and first time playing with the likes of Coloccini etc, he did very, very well. He did make a couple of mistake, one which on another day may have cost us a goal BUT overall, he showed class and CALM - he’s not a rushed defender, which Taylor IS.
Coloccini is world class and he was well on top of his game tonight.
Beye was poor tonight but still a million times better than what Carr would have been - let’s not forget that.
Enrique was brilliant - the lad tries so hard to please but when he actually just defends, man, he can win a tackle alright.
Guthrie wasn’t great tonight, Butt was good.
Spidey was fantastic yet again, he is the best player we’ve had in years by a mile.
Geremi had one of THOSE games.
Zoggy was pretty good, could have siled though when he scored? Why so moody?
But MILNER?!?! He was MOM by a mile for me.

Overall, the team player really well considering we’ve a few good players out - 3 or 4 singings like Spidey and Coloccini and we will have a cracking team.

  • 64 MAG PIE // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:43

    Given 8
    Beye 6
    Coloccini 9
    Bassong 9
    Enrique 8
    Jonas 9
    Butt 8
    Geremi 7
    Guthrie 7
    Nzogbia 8
    Milner 9

    Owen 8

  • 65 Alex James // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:43

    My overall player rating:
    Given: 7
    Enrique: 6
    Collocinni: 9
    Bassong: 7
    Beye: 6
    N’Zogbia: 8
    Guthrie: 6
    Butt: 5
    Geremi: 5
    Milner: 9
    Gutierrez: 8
    (Owen): 8

Before the first Coventry goal we played the best passing football I’ve seen for years. When Coventry put us under a bit more pressure with the long ball we suffered from a lack of composure but apart from that well played. Coloccini was outstanding.

  • 66 Ben K // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:44

Bassong looked solid but I though his game slipped in extra time worse than Beye’s. he made a few mistakes, and I still prefer Taylor, but Sebastian didn’t have 3 handballs today, did he?

  • 67 reillers // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:44

It was a good day, a good effort by the team. They most be really feeling it though. They’ll be pretty spent come Arsenal, which is the last thing we need. But they’ll give it a lash and we’ll see how it goes. We’ve a wee squad, it’s too small and we’ll see the affects come Arsenal. Time to buy new players before it’s too late.

  • 68 bear pit // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:44

Seems our beloved Tayls has a bit competition, Good, might make him focus better and stop all his costly errors. Bassong had a great game, havent seen much of him but if tonite is anything to go by he will do a good job alongside our No 1 CB Colo.

  • 69 Petey // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:44

mixed feeling, but on the whole, well done to the team, championship sides can cause alot of upsets, no matter who they are playing, we stuck together well, and with no apprent strikers, we won the game!

hats off to coventry for prooving they have some class. but clinton morrison needs to get rid of tht 9+1…its cheesey.

the zog played a good game, milner played better, and enrique, altho made mistakes, had a decent game too, lets hope we stick him in tht position for a few games.

good show, i was very entertained!

  • 70 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:44

    MAG PIE

It all comes down to the ‘Tayls’ fan club again doesnt it, scared he might lose his automatic place so they are convincing themselves that Bassong played poor, all this despite the commentators stating through out the game that he looked a quality player, and the majority belief that he had a good game, quite strange really

  • 71 Petey // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:46

oh and geremi was aweful, shame really

  • 72 MAG PIE // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:46

Oba = agree about milner = thought he looked much better in a more central role - his crossing let’s him down usually - I like to see him running into the box and letting fly occasionally

  • 73 James // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:46

Say what you like about particular players. The facts are simple:

    - COLOCCINI is sheer class, and he hasn’t even had a chance to get match sharpness yet. Will be immense this season.

    - MILNER is far more effective as a central player.

    - GUTHRIE is simply excellent.

    - OWEN without him we’d be out of the cup and still looking for our first league win. That’s 9 goals in his last 11 games. How on earth do you replace that.

    - It was an away cup game, don’t read too much into it for the Arsenal match. We see it every season with the underdog playing long balls into the box. Yes we got caught out twice, but so many times Coloccini dealt with it.

  • 74 Oba // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:47

Precisely the reason I don’t comment that often on here. Having your own opinion is such a crime these days.

    a) Never called him Tayls in my life.
    b) Don’t think he’s that great tbh.

  • 75 Andy1 // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:47

Bassong had an average game and made a few mistakes in the latter stages of the game after showing great composure previously. You could put some of these lapses down to tiredness and the fact he is not match fit.

He looks a good classy defender but to me he will take time to settle and could struggle in the same way as Rozehnal and Cacapa to adjust to the more physical aspects of English football. The one major advantage he has over them is his age and the fact he has potential to improve quickly.

After one competitve game though it seems foolish to suggest that he is suddenly better than Taylor. A player who gives 100% every game and is better suited to deal with an aerial battle. Taylor was immense at Old Trafford and should settle into the first choice pairing with Coloccini because he will get much better with a consistent and composed partner.

  • 76 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:48

Oba my apologies, got caught in the moment

  • 77 rob // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:48

  • 78 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:49

fair enough it is your opinion, but i just dont understand how Taylor can be considered “far better” than Bassong. I genuinely dont

  • 79 reillers // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:49

  • 80 Michael (NOR) // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:50

I agree. And the same against Bolton & Man Utd. In the 92nd min. why don’t bring on a sub 2 at least deploy som time waisting tactics? ..Just 2 kill the momentum a bit.. I know Keegan doesn’t want to give away any more goals, but he’s not really taking any chances defencivly but bringing on for instance Donaldson for lets say— Milner/ Jonas (today)..?

  • 81 ToonRich // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:50

dacvid toon, WTF, there was nothing wrong with Milners shooting…the coventry defence had to make many blocks to stop them going on target.

Alex, bit harsh on Enrique re: the “needless corner”, he did well to make the tackle just unlucky that he out did hiself with a silly stepover!

Bassong looks comfortable next to Coloccini, so I wouldnt be nervous to see him play some league games :)

I hope we get a quick DM in, Butt looked dead tonight, very sluggish.

Given & Owen our saviours again!!!

  • 82 Petey // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:51

btw, enrique’s ball was something else for the owen goal, straight from a good tackle aswel, lets hope for more of tht from the man. he runs back fast aswel.

  • 84 MAG PIE // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:51

Spyro = I like Taylor - his attitude and comittment cannot be faulted. He WILL be immense in a couple of years but at the moment is prone to the odd bizarre moment. I still think he will play at Arsenal because of his experience but Bassong must count himself unfortunate if I’m right. All in all I think we are very well served at centre half now. I even rate Edgar. We need cover at full back on both sides though. Beye was great last season and probably will be again - but not the youngest. For me Nzogbia cannot play LB and is wasted there - as tonight showed.

  • 85 Ben K // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:51

Oba, I agree with most of what you’ve said. Bassong has talent and played well, but it’s too early to say he should replace Taylor. Let’s see him play well at Old Trafford before we name him a first choice centerback.

  • 86 Davy C // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:53

    Oba

I totally agree. I thought Collocini was great tonight and Milner showed his class. N’Zogbia had a good game and at times looked superb. Enrique lost possession in dangerous areas a few times but overral was good and his pass to Owen for the winner was excellent. Jonas showed his abilities and will to succeed again.

We should have won by half time but the ref’s decision on time at the end of each half was bizarre. Keegan and Owen’s comments showed they weren’t happy!

Job done at the end of the day - roll on Saturday’s draw and the Arsenal game later on.

  • 87 Tommy // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:54

The team played very very well in places. Milner looked a threat all night, and I thought Enrique, apart from a couple of dodgy mistakes, played some good football.

Jonas was out marked more than once. Colo played it very cool, but was over powered in a couple of dodgy situations, one being the 2nd goal. Guthrie only made one real mistake in his position, very impressed with him. Bassong made some very nice touches and looks a promising last line. Was out of position a few times though.

The team did play excellent in patches, especially the last 10 mins of the first half. Albeit they conceded..

We do still need ‘the 3 positions’ though..

  • 88 Ashton // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:54

Enrique was amazing he is the best LB i have ever seen in B&W ” purple ” shirt

  • 89 MAG PIE // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:54

To put tonight n perspective didn’t Coventry and Mifsud in particular thrash a Prem team in last year’s League Cup - Liverpool? or am I wrong? (it has been known)

  • 90 Petey // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:55

    to hit the taylor/bassong situation…

i like em both, but bassong is a new kid on the block, and although he shows class, taylor has that edge over him in terms of experiance in front of given, which is what we need. but i agree, taylor needs to accept the fact that he should sit out a few league games..he has a challenger for the spot, and its only good news for the club.

    hope u can all agree

  • 91 Oba // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:55

Bassong has never played in the Prem before. Taylor is has at least two/three seasons under his belt, his a better choice at this moment in time imo.

alright lads, havent been commenting tonight because i was slightly worried so i sat n watched it by myself, haha, but after watching the game, my view is

bassong, looks a good player. he had a great first half, and to say he was making mistakes is wrong, because both him and colo switched off for their second goal, they both jumped, neither made it to the ball first

colo-pretty much the above. he looks really impressive but the back four seemed to switch off at vital times, which is simply worrying. first half we looked a solid defensive unit, but we stopped concentrating and looked like a newcastle of old. against far more talented teams, we’ll pay. we paid for it tonight against championship opposition.

enrique, needs to start at left back. looked strong and composed for alot of the game.

charlie, needs to start at left wing. he was great coming forward tonight and was hitting the target. didnt seem to give a sh!te about the fact he was given a goal though, whether he scored it or not.

milner, i’ve doubted this lad alot to be honest, but he was brilliant tonight. never stopped running, looked sharp, dangerous, and i had a massive smile on my face with everything he did.

owen, who can doubt him really. yes he’s injured alot, but the injuries arent his fault. look what happens when he’s called upon at vital times. HE PRODUCES THE GOODS, THAT SIMPLE.

geremi, ruins everything we do. his crossing was abysmal and he gave the ball away alot.

jonas, another good performance. the lad never stops running and is dangerous coming forward, yet has no problem with getting back and helping. made a few vital tackles and kept the ball coming away with it tonight.

guthrie, again gave the ball away a few times, but still looks tidy. think him and barton could be great in midfield.

thats about all, sorry for the essay lads, lol

Jonas doesn’t give the ball away. FACT.

  • 94 Irish John // Aug 26, 2008 at 22:56

Coventry were so lucky to get extra time it was untrue..

They had one shot in 90 mins that flew into the top corner . not even the mighty Shay given could get to it.THATS ALL THEY HAD.. They got a throw in when the players should of been warming down and sneaked a goal (flukey bastards) . there probably all buming the ref now as we speak….

I thought we were awsome tonight ..some off the football was brillant to watch. Must say, Bassong looked class next to Colo..for once our defence looks quality..

Roll on Arsenal. dont forget, They play tomorrow nigth in the champ league so we have an extra days rest.

    COME ON THE TOON

    Team rating IMO

Given - 7 - good when called upon, but not too involved

Beye - 5 - not good by his standards

    Coloccini - 9 - fanastic all-round performance

Bassong - 7 - solid performance, composed on the ball

Enrique - 8 - good all-round performance, but made a couple of mistakes

Gutierrez - 8 good all-round performance, but not as great going forward today

Butt - 8 - played well and demoniated the central area

Guthrie - 6 - lost the ball a fair few times but also made some fantastic passes.

    Milner - 9 - good all-round, tireless performance, and a goal

    N’zogbia - 9 - hardworking, good all-round performance, and a goal

Owen - 7 - worked hard and got involved in play, got a goal

Ross - agree. EXCEPT - I thought Geremi was ok tonight. Normally I fume at his corners and his relative lack of mobility but I thought this was one of his better games.

    7/10

  • 98 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:00

  • 99 Petey // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:00

arsnal have a 2 2 goal cushion in tht match irish john…

i dont expect them to play more than 4 first teamers, so dont really expect em to be tired, if anything they have the edge over us…

but then again, our confidence couldnt be higher…cud/shud be a really good game

  • 100 MAG PIE // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:00

    Spyro - Geremi ?

  • 101 51times // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:00

Hey Ross, about your question yesterday, Hearts and Rangers get grouped together because they’re both Protestant clubs. Years back I think you had Hearts fans singing The Sash and that. In fact I know they used to sing to Rangers “Glasgow Rangers, Glasgow Rangers, You’re not fit to wear the Sash, You’re not fit to wear the Sash”.

  • 102 MAG PIE // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:01

If Geremi scored a hat-trick no-one would have a good word to say about him.

  • 103 Irish John // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:03

true petey , but still cant see Wenger not putting out nearly full strength, he would’nt want to risk anything…

But still, I want to see the same level of performance we gave against manure and i will be happy…win lose or draw.

  • 104 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:03

mitch i have already apologised for that comment, keep up

  • 105 Irish John // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:04

Geremi was the worst player on the field…you would never off thought he played for Real Madrid at one stage in he’s career

  • 106 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:04

Geremi was poor today, and no doubt that is a universal opinion

  • 107 Spyro // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:06

    question

Was anyone else shocked by Zoggy’s hardowrking performance. The lad worked his socks off.

  • 108 Petey // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:06

irish john, …bring on the arsenal am i right!?!

  • 109 Irish John // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:08

    damn right mate

  • 110 Petey // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:09

mmm, spyro, i noticed at some point in the match, he gave the odd hump, but cmon, the zog cant go a whole 90 mins without a small niggle, he walked around sometimes where he had every chance to win a ball…

but for nzogbia’s normal standards, he did indeed work his socks off, made decent runs and used those skillful feet of his.

i love the guy tho, trouble here trouble there, but u gotta love him, its never anything terrible like bellamy!

  • 111 Irish John // Aug 26, 2008 at 23:09

    f***ing damn right mate
