Setanta Sports is reporting tonight that BSC Young Boys defender Kamil Zayatte’s proposed move to Everton has stalled.
Kamil Zayette – 3 Premier Clubs interested
Kamil’s agent Roger Boli has also said that Newcastle United are keen on securing his services.
The 23 year-old Guinea international apparently impressed David Moyes during a trial at Everton.
However, his current Swiss club BSC Young Boys have already explained to the Merseyside club, there are three other English clubs showing an interest in the 23-year-old, and we know one of them is Newcastle.
It seems like the mad scramble that accompanies the closing of the transfer window has started, and agents are probably more involved than they should be, in working the best last minute deals for their clients.
Zayette has played for RC Lens and moved to BSC Young Boys in Switzerland only last summer. He is 6’3” tall and can play central defender, right back and defensive midfield, so it seems he could be a good capture for the squad, given his obvious versatility.
Zayatte wants to move to England and more developments are certainly expected very soon, and we could even know tomorrow the destination of the player.
Roger Boli told setantasports.com tonight:
“I don’t know what is happening at Everton, actually there might be a slight problem between David Moyes and his president regarding the signing, and I’m also aware of the fact that Newcastle want him as well,”
“I can’t tell with which club he is going to sign for the moment, but I may tomorrow.”
We believe the fee is in the region of £3M, and tonight Sky Sports is going further than Setanta Sports, and reporting that Zayatte is ready to sign for Newcastle United.
If this is indeed true, we would expect some news on this early tomorrow.
Comments welcome.

Comment #83If it is true that Everton have put a bid in for Milner then we should try for a swap deal for Arteta . They were interested in Smith so swap Milner and smith for Arteta .They are even more desperate for new signings than we are so ,it might just work.

Comment #85wish toon fans wouldn’t make a mockery of us all by saying things about this kid who none of us have seen play!! no wonder the rest of the nations fans say we think we’re bigger than we are. we need players, this lad is young, cheap, and versatile and he’ll be desperate to prove something, surely a better bet than signing an ageing overpaid primadonna as we’ve done so many times in the past. how many people had seen samba before he went to blackburn?? or faye before he went to bolton?? does that make them bad players?? get real lads and lasses, everton didnt get to 4th and 5th place finishes by spending stupid amounts on ‘big’ names!!

http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=837602
PFA… “I note the comments on the [Newcastle] website, the contents of which disappoint me because James Milner was left with no option, in his opinion, but to formally ask for a transfer following the club’s total refusal to offer him a new contract,” McGuire, who is the deputy chief executive of the Professional Footballers’ Association, told The Guardian.
“The contract which was signed a year ago was agreed more than 11 months before that, when they refused to let his transfer to Aston Villa go through on deadline day [in August 2006]. A new deal was agreed in principle and it took until the following July to be established.
“In that time James has played two seasons in Newcastle’s first team and he was asking for a [salary] figure that reflects that. James feels that his salary does not reflect his value in the market.”
Newcastle appear to be wholly unimpressed by Milner’s attempts to increase his pay-packet, and even more so by his insistence on leaving after his wishes were denied.
But McGuire claimed that the Toon’s total refusal to even discuss a wage rise demonstrates a lack of appreciation for the former Leeds United winger’s efforts over the past two seasons.
Development
“He was simply asking for an improvement that reflects his development,” added McGuire. “Having played over 50 games last season and 160 games in the Premier League, he believed his improvement warranted a new contract.
“It was made clear on two occasions there was not going to be a new contract. Therefore he felt that he was left with no option.”
Milner is expected to join Aston Villa on Monday, as the Midlands club have bid £10million for the man they took on loan during the 2005-06 season.

Comment #98MAPGIE – my point about him being desperate is that he’ll have a point to prove and he’ll be willing to fight and scrap for his place in the team. plus if he’s already got 10 caps for his country at 23-years old he cant be that bad, even though guinea arent the greatest side 🙂 how many bad players has moyes signed? we could do a lot worse than this kid in my opinion
warnock – probably wont happen, why would he come here as ‘cover’? plus enrique is probably better than him. if we need cover at left-back it should be someone younger who may be willing to wait for a first-team chance
bullard – could be useful but dont think fulham would sell. think theres better players available
larsson – not a bad player but whereas milner can beat a man and cant cross, larsson is the exact opposite lol, good at set pieces though. if we sell milner we need a quality replacement but i’d rather use the 10m to get a class CM like moutinho or veloso, and play jonas RM
ashton – risky at such a high price coz he spends as much time injured as the rest of our strikers. suppose if we get enough injury prone strikers the law of averages states we should have at least one fit most of the time lol. big fan of a fit ashton though, he’s the nearest thing we could get to shearer
anybody see liege scare the shit out of liverpool?? that big kid fellaini was class, and the captain defour looks top-class for a 21-year old!! could be worth a look…

take advantage ashley
i for one (considering the last decade) feel the club is slowly but surely heading in the right direction-
the key is if keegan stays- i do worry about his relationship with the chief- but what manager chairman relationship is smooth in the premier? Chelsea, everton, Spurs (im tellin ya) Liverpool??
paa we have too many babies in our ranks just sing and back the king-
above all else other teams should never doubt the fans commitment to the cause- no mater how tough the seaason

Comment #101Personally I think it is a bit of a cheek for Milner to ask for an improvement in his contract half way through it? HOw many players do that, sure negotiate a better deal for a NEW contract.
I think Milner has ended up with egg on his face now and has let the fans down if the story rings true. He didn’t have to sign the original contract did he? And its a cheek to put a transfer request in but ask for it not to be made public!! How on earth does tha work – surely NUFC hav a right to let other clubs know so that offers can be made?!?
Strange, and very stupid and unnecesary behaviour from an exemplary professional, and talk about bad timing!

Comment #108if thats the case with jimmy milner.. i’ve gotta say fair play.
He’s obviously hot property, with three or four clubs willing to part with ten million for him.
If we are not prepared to put him on parity with the duff’s, taylors, geremi’s, zog’s money then more fool us. he is a stalwart of the side, and prob our most creative midfielder.
If he goes, good luck to the lad.. i’d much prefer us to sign him up to the 30 grand he wants for the next five years…
If not 10 million should buy Arda??

Comment #110Spuggy thats interesting m8. Think of it. If Milner asks for and gets an increased wage because he has ‘now played more games and improved,’ does that mean any player who signs a deal today, 4,5, years whatever, can ask for and should get a better deal a year or two later because they’ve made more appearances and ‘improved’…….
this is beginning to sound more like greed on milner’s part than anything.
He’s definitly gone so… we won’t offer a bumper deal because we’d be setting a precedent every player will want to follow. He’s basically said “Pay me more now or I’m off!” Good luck then see ya.
If he is to stay perhaps we could offer him an improved deal if he improves on the 2 assists he made last season. Doesn’t mention that opta stat above neither does it…

Comment #113I personally dont see what Larrson would give us as he is too slow and one dimensional, No doubt he crosses a quality ball and takes a mean free kick, So can Beckham but he should be bombed out of the England team!
The way KK wants the lads to play is all about sharp passing, pace and movement hence the interchanging between Jonas, Milner and Zog the other night, Larrson isnt fast or creative enough to play that way he will sit on the wing and cross the ball.
If we were to sell Milner which i hope we dont and still refuse to believe we will, A player like McGeady who can play all across the pitch and has pace to burn would be a more suitable replacement.

Comment #115nicely punned Dondatta, and apparently Skjelbred had an amazing game tonight as well(although i didnt see it.)
the Duffs and smiths etc are all overpaid, but if we give into milner’s demands (1 yr after signing a new contract) it wont be long before Zog and Taylor etc. want more and more money.
Then in a few years, we’ll be on here moaning about how our wage bill is too high and how ashley hasnt done enough to get it down like he said he would.
He had to draw the line and start somewhere, its just a shame it had to be milner

Comment #116james milner is asking for an improved contract based on the clubs vauluation of him, the contract he signed last year, was a contract that had been agreed the year before, when the club were willing to sell him to villa for about 4-5mil, only to change their minds.
now if they were willin to offer him the wage he is on now whilst only valuing him at 4-5mil then now that they vaule him at double that, 10mil, surely they cant argue with the fact that if the club thinks his value has double then he must be worth more in wages

Your not alone with that preference:
As much as i dislike this messy business with Villa over Milner, I admire the way O’Neill is building a quality side with a lot of home grown talent, Much like what Bobby did here.

Comment #120whats wrong with miller wanting to be recognised as a important first team player?
He is simply saying.. If you don’t rate me.. five other premier sides do.
I’m sure he’d rather stay at the toon, but he’s like any one of us.. I’ve performed well at work the last year.. I want a pay rise that reflects that,
It’s just the real world boy’s
