Valencia Report Gonzalez To Newcastle On Season Loan

Spanish club Valencia have announced today that a deal has been agreed that will send their Uruguay international midfielder Ignacio Gonzalez to Newcastle United on loan for the coming season.

Ignacio Gonzalez – one year loan at Newcastle reported

The 26-year-old only just signed for the Spanish side in the summer, after being on loan at Monaco, but is seems strange he may already be surplus to requirements. He played for Daniubo since 2002 and played 178 games for them over six seasons, scoring 45 goals.

Vice-President Fernando Gomez said today:

“We have many players who can play in midfield and this is an excellent solution for both sides,”“We expect the formalities to be completed on Monday morning.”

This is a good signing for Newcastle, as we need more players in central midfield, and the reports we have received from our readers suggest that Gonzalez is a skilled and strong playmaker in midfield.

But Ignacio unfortunately will be away on World Cup duty for Uruguay in their South American World Cup qualifiers for almost two weeks.

Uruguay play Colombia and Ecuador on September 6th and 10th respectively, and it could be the Uruguay will be away on World Cup duty quite a lot this season.

The 5’11” midfielder has played 15 times for Uruguay.

Comments very welcome.

lol ed (harrison) comments VERY welcome.

i personally think it doesn’t mean he is bad because valencia are loaning him out, as david silva plays in his position and is one of the best players in the world.

    regards, ed

Ed – He is hardly surplus to requreents:

    1. Who would get into a team over David Silva? Barely anyone.

    2. Valencia have too many non-EU players, he is another one so they dont have room for him.

He is the first Uruguayan to play for the toon (if he does sign) am i right?

I wouldn’t be overly excited, i would prefer the likes of saviola in his position, however unless there is confirmation on the official website its just speculation. My 3 predictions for tomorow would be Arda, pocognoli and Derdiyok.

sorry for the cliche boys but………….
a friend of a friend says that, having played with him in uruguay he is actually the real deal, really class player who will do well. i found out about the deal on thurs am. however, here is the bad news… that friend of a friend is a sunderland fan! so we will have to wait and see.
anybody else disappointed about the lack of players coming in???

so what are we saying , he’s not even good enough to start ahead of silva ? (fair enough) , and the cover they have for silva is better than him aswell ?

and just why are we getting loan deals in when we have supposedly been scouting the world for months now ?

I am very disappointed, i expected some big signings, i know we have done well because imo jonas and coloccini are incredible, guthrie is good but will get better with time.

I was hoping for a big name signing, i have been hopeing for a “wow” signing since MA came here

well better than nowt and with the current state of the squad (or lack of it) i think its a “make up the numbers” mentality that perhaps is the driving force behind this transfer.

Hadrian – They have too many non-EU players so they had to get rid of some. They are only allowed 3.

guys we need to sign some decent players!!! kk knows that MA knows that.tommorrow is a very big day for MA .its will make or break for him in the eyes of the fans…kk will lose face and possib end up leaving if we fail to attract any signing..this is just my view, based on the fact that if i was MA..ANYONE… think the same
