The Sunday Mirror is reporting today that angry Newcastle United players hopefully could be the final straw for London based Billionaire owner Mike Ashley.
Mike Ashley – we’ll not see this scene again
Last week Mike went against the wishes of the Newcastle fans, the Newcastle public, the Newcastle players, and the Newcastle City Council and supported Denis Wise, another Londoner with no club background, over Newcastle legend Kevin Keegan. It was a massive blunder we think he will have a very hard time recovering from.
Newcastle players are said to be ready to bombard the club with a mass transfer request, as a protest at Kevin Keegan’s departure, and some of the more senior players at the club, have even contemplated strike action, for Saturday’s match with Hull City. But lads – we need the 3 points still.
The proverbial Newcastle insider revealed today:
“The mood in the dressing room was ugly. Some of the players felt totally betrayed and talked about refusing to play.”
“Just about everyone – apart from the new lads who had signed in the summer – was furious with the way Kevin had been treated and the fact the entire squad had been put up for sale.”
“Calmer influences prevailed and the feeling now is they will hit the club with transfer requests in January.”
“They are disgusted with the way the club is being run and don’t want any part of it.”
Newcastle fans, many of which have been fanatically supporting the club longer than Mike Ashley has even been alive, are desperately thinking of ways in which the Billionaire could be forced to sell the proud Tyneside club, he has so denigrated this last week.
Many think Ashley’s actions of last week have gone beyond the point of no return.
Comments welcome.

I can’t agree more with your quote that Ashley ill laugh with the fans as long as he gets his money from the fans and via the club. It will be very difficult to let him know how we think about his management of our beloved club. I think he will not sell now, maybe later, but certainly not now and that we the fans have to hope that he gets aware of the mess he and his cronies have created and that he finds a solution for all of it.

Comment #85Lots of ‘fans’ singing the praises of Terim and already knocking Keegan…..beggars belief!
No matter how goof Terim is, he has no connection with NUFC.
Dont tell me it doesnt matter, because the only 2 managers in recent past who have achieved anything (winning attractive football) have been intrinsicallylinked Keegan and Robson.
Try telling me these managers were’nt great else where:
Dalgliesh (league)
Gullit (FA cup)
Souness( FA cup and trophies around the globe)
Fat Sam (Tool Bolton to Europe!)
Now i’m not knocking Terim, but Newcastle is different proposition altogether.

Comment #86Still find this absolutly unbelievable… and utterly discusting
FURIOUS Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has launched an amazing attack on ex-boss Kevin Keegan as the Toon Civil Wor turned even more ugly.
Last night Newcastle issued a no-holds-barred statement. It read: “NUFC wished, at all times, to keep any dispute that it had with Kevin Keegan private.
“It is, therefore, disappointing information has reached the media through unnamed sources and a briefing has been given by the League Managers’ Association that could give rise to a misleading impression amongst the club’s fans.
“It is a fact that Kevin Keegan, on appointment on January 16, 2008, agreed to report to a Director of Football and to the Board. It is a fact that Kevin Keegan worked within that structure from January 16 until his resignation.
“It is a fact that Kevin Keegan, as manager, had specific duties in that he was responsible for the training, coaching, selection and motivation of the team.
“It is a fact that Kevin Keegan was allowed to manage his specific duties without any interference from any board member.
“It is a fact that Kevin Keegan agreed only to deal with the media in relation to club matters relating to the team and not to communicate with the media in relation to the acquisition or disposal of players.
“It is a fact that NUFC is a business and operates, like all businesses, with financial constraints.”
I re iterate. what a load of crap!
Why should Keegan be gagged? simple so that the fans never know that the club is being run by Dennis wise and his mates
And so that we never know that the statements by wise and Ashley that Keegan has the final say in all transfer matters are lies.
The owner, directer of football and chairmen are nothing more than highly paid southern pickpockets

Comment #94Entertainers and black and white blood.
great posts both of you and couldn’t agree more.
I will not support any manager under the current regime. as they will have zero connection with the club or the city, and will simply be a puppet for dennis wise.. of whom i have zero respect or confidence, him being a southerner is a problem.. but the fact he has zero track record, success, experiance or qualfications.. or connection with the city and club and has seemingly zero respect for the people the city holds in such high regard,. is the real issue

Comment #95I’m amazed – My interpretation of Given’s interview was completely the opposite. The fellow look reserved, worried, annoyed and most importantly, he hesitated whilst answering probing questions. I’m sorry, in my opinion; this interview reinforced the tension which exists between playing staff and the board.
One would assume he would have tried to appease the fans when questioned about the fans desire to oust the board, I wasn’t expecting “well…erh…well, it’s not really for me to speak about the hierarchy….the clubs in turmoil”….WOW, strong statement!
I liked the sly dig…”Keegan’s a GREAT manager and a great bloke” – Well done Shay!

I have supported the club since 1951 when my dad brought me as a lad. I was not born inNewcastle and for most of my life unable to attend games. Now I can afford the time and the monery, it takes me 3hrs (on a good day) to get to the matches (3hrs back home). I suspect you said the same thing about Fat Fred before MA came along. You are judging MA on what has happened to KK, probably not taking into account that KK could possibly have made any mistakes. How can you therefore put all the blame on the one man ,when you do not know what happened behind closed doors? How will you therefore be able to make any rational judgement about the way forward? MA is probably no fatter than many of the fans and unless you have met him personally how can you call him smug and cast doubts on his parentage? Hrling abuse at any of the main characters in the saga is not going to help the club or achieve anything. Are you going to support the team v Hull and be there?

Comment #110“What just happened to Kevin Keegan at Newcastle should make any football lover curl his hand into a fist and throw a metaphorical punch at the pygmies who’ve taken control of the people’s game. The Geordies are furious and I don’t blame them. They love Keegan there and call him the ‘Messiah’ for reasons that are obvious to anyone who saw what he did for that club as a player and as a manager (first time round). But I don’t want to talk about that here. I want to talk about Keegan as a Liverpool hero. ” – amazing how just about everyone understands why Keegan walked out this time. Well apart from that goggle nosed twat on Sky , Lamb Curry or whatever his name is. (Guess fattys have to stick together).

Comment #111Stamford:
What we do know about Ashley is that while Newcastle United are going threw one of their worst periods in recent times( takes some doing)
Our leader / owner is wasting his money in the US, instead of being back in the UK firstly in attempting to keep Keegan or now drafting up a ‘What the hell next plan’
That much is FACT , as the board would say.

Comment #112Dan NUFC – the mess Allardyce had us in was always going to take time to adjust.
He had to completely revert systems, had had to use brutes to play flowing football because they were Sams players and he never got the chance to get in his own it turns out or even keep the ones he liked.
Guthrie was his only choice it seems, but he agreed to Colocini and Guiterez.
Guthrie has looked superb, better than Modric so far in fact. (saved 15M there, shew)

what we do know is that Mike ashley was out on the piss in New York, spending his money on bottles of crystel’ (posh wine lads!lol) whislt the club ‘manger’ in the loosest sense of the word had walked out on meetings.. nufc were all over the papers, on ssn permantly.. and whilst hundreds of supporters were outside sjp, wanting answers.
Now mike ashley can do what he wants with his money.
But honestly does that seem like someone to you who cares about the club, the city or the fans?
If the answer to that question is no… then is that the sort of owner you want for nufc?

Comment #119Keegan never seen any of this money….A good job by Ashley…I’m afraid NOT
Re:NUFC.com
*Presumably with the sales of Milner, Rozehnal, Emre, Faye added, the pot was actually £30m. Fees for Gutierrez and Bassong are still to be confirmed but the £2.5m and £9.1m spent on Guthrie and Coloccini respectively still leaves a massive amount that didn’t get invested on squad strengthening before September 1st.

So MA is on holiday enjoying himself (is that wasting money) but didn’t KK go on holiday when he could have been trying to recruit new players? He probably spent less on that evening than you would on a good night out in proportion to our incomes and wealth. A night out does not mean that work is not in porgress to repair the damage.
