Albani Still Looks The Only Hope For Newcastle Fans

There really doesn’t seem to be too much new news relating to Newcastle United today and their search for a new manager.

Paul Ince – hard to believe Paul is a target of Newcastle

The Evening Chronicle are saying that Paul Ince, who has only just joined Blackburn Rovers, may be a candidate, but that to us is a non-starter, because even if the club were interested in Paul, the compensation we would have to pay Blackburn would be huge, and Ince is hardly proven in the Premier League.

The advantage is that Paul Ince knows Dennis Wise.

It’s got to be very frustrating to Newcastle fans that an advantage is to know one of the people at the club who has no historical links whatsoever with Newcastle, and is hardly admired or liked by the Newcastle faithful.

But that seems to be the condition of our famous club right now, with a London manager and Londoners seemingly ruining the club from the Capital., and coming up to Newcastle as little as they have to.

Hardly a good situation for proud Geordie fans, although the one silver lining is that the Indian Billionaire, Anil Ambani could buy the club.

But we don’t know if that story has any truth in it – or if it’s just something the Newcastle fans are just hoping and praying will happen.

We’ll have to wait and see – but if it does happen – just watch the Geordies come alive again out of their deep sadness at what owner Mike Ashley has done at their proud club.

Comments welcome.

am just sick of speculation, its the players we need to get behind, dont boycott or rebel until AFTER the game… because DURING the game the lads need more then our FULL support!

Come on the Toon Destroy Hull!

Ed, we have had so many false dawns – lets not speculate on something that, to be fair isn’t even worthy of a rumour to date.

What we need to concentrate on over the coming days is giving Ashley & Co. the ear bashing they need to hopefully sit up and take notice.

Is this march from Central Station happening? If not then the Toon Ultras have organised a protest at SJP from 2.00pm on Saturday until kick off.

We need as many people as possible at SJP on Saturday, whether you’re going to the match or not to show that we no,longer trust this current stewardship of our club.

We need to hit Ashley where it hurts – in his wallet. No merchandise, no Shearers Bar, no programmes, no club museum (at this rate the whole place will be a museum if this goes on much longer), no stadium tours.

Fans who are going to watch the game from boxes / restaurants – it doesn’t matter if you are on a freebee from work – dont buy or let someone else buy your drinks!

Just my opinion by the way

Ed – I realise you like the rest of us are entitled to your opinion and it is your blog and you can write whatever you like. But I do think the fans look to you and I think you should be using that position to bring the fans together, instead of adding fuel to this anti-cockney fire that’s been started. I really don’t think that saying our club is being ruined by cockney’s is helping anyone.

Your argument seems a little confused also…

“But that seems to be the condition of our famous club right now, with a London manager and Londoners seemingly ruining the club from the Capital., and coming up to Newcastle as little as they have to.

Hardly a good situation for proud Geordie fans, although the one silver lining is that the Indian Billionaire, Anil Ambani could buy the club.”

If it’s so wrong for our club to be run by people from outside of Newcastle how is a bloke all the way over in India going to make the situation any better?

Manager? To be honest with you I don’t think anyone is qualified to Manage this club at the moment sadly, with the current regime, high expectation and shoe string budget most managers won’t touch it with a barge pole 🙁

Not keen on the idea of a foreigner taking over the club at the moment unless he is a seasoned Premier Legue Veteran…

maybe in the future when the ship is more stable we can take a gamble on a foreiner but right now we need a young ambisous English/British manager that knows the presures of the premier league, and will inject some urgentcy into our play much like KK did…

Failing that someone with premiership experience, I see people scoff at Houlier and Ranieri but personally I think they are quality and built the foundations for 2 sucessful premier league clubs, we could end up with a lot worse than them and unfortuanately probably will… 🙁

Hi Guys, new to contributing but have been a loyal follower of this site for years now. First off, a big thanks to Ed for keeping this site running and making work more bearable. Secondly, to all of those who have ignored 95% of the scaremongering in the press i salute you and would beg the other toon SUPPORTERS to do the same.

We’re a mess at the moment, I live in London and have the misfortune of having mates who support other underachieving clubs like spurs and liverpool (bloody cockney reds, is there a worse breed?). We are a constant source of amusement to these guys and in many respects we are our own worst enemy. I’m not happy with whats going on but I think it is vital we do not boycott matches, rather the bars, the retail outlets and the SJP pie stands. Stop buying programmes but do not desert the team. We support the team, never have we supported the chairman- tell me the last time a chairman had you jumping from your seat after a piece of skill or a decent challenge. We are football fans, not industry insiders so lets not have SJP on the back pages for anything other than an amazing atmosphere and a team inspired by the best fans in the country.

Wtf will the likes of Coloccini and Jonas be reporting to their international team mates if on game 4 the stadium is empty. Ashley is going nowhere, has saved us from doing a Leeds under Shepherd and has bought wisely (no pun intended). I’ll miss Keegan but sentiment aside he can be replaced. Lets try and make the Toon seem an attractive option for once. Who knows, we then may get what we want.

I don’t care where Ashley is.

I care where the people he pts in charge.

Wise, Lamb (he really is), All those Spanish connected guys, you know who i am talking about.

Oh, I miss mort, he talked, showed his face, if there were bad news he was there to say it, if there were good news he was there to say it+ 🙂

now we are managed by a Monarchy.

No dialoge, no words of “maybe” or “if”

only facts (oops, didnt mean about the statments).

I see that KK didn’t speak, maybe because of ligal reasons.

And Ed, sometimes your own opition get in the way maybe, but still I love you blog and I come only here to get the updates. you get all the news together about a subject, and put it on “paper” with a little bit of your own opinion, which is really cool. So thanks for that Ed.

mate, he will not come. Or if he will it will be a big surprize, becouse they deny every link to us.

About KK, I think he had enough, it is time to move on, and I think someone here said that the Turkish manager is really good, so bring him maybe.

ah… I don’t want to loose hope of Ashley going, but it looks like he wants to stay 🙁

MA is a busted flush – no money and looking to sell as soon as possible. Milner’s sale meant the club didn’t invest any money in transfers – which was probably Ashley’s plan all the time and he thought he could deceive KK.
KK called his bluff and asked for assurances for the future and Ashley didn’t respond. KK then walked out on principal.

And please nobody tell me Ashley has stabalised the club. Any money he has put in to reduce the debts will be recovered when he sells.

I am amazed the Chronicle or any other journalist still accepts Ashely’s story that he bought the club on impulse the day after talking to John Hall and not doing any business due diligence (inspection of accounts etc).

Albani is an alternative to Ashley. He has far more money personally then Ashley, and I hope far more principles. It is, sadly, just speculation at the moment. The present London dictators are running true to form and not talking to the fans. To Wise and company we are irrelevant and I thinkthey consider most of the players are too. In Ashley’s rotten money world everybody is just a commodity to be bought and sold – it matters not whether one is Owen or Given or Joe Bloggs on the terrace. Give the team our all on Saturday, cheer them on to one Hull of a victory. A slap in the face of Ashley who seems to want to ride two horses with one fat arse!
