Anil Ambani No Longer Interested In Buying Newcatle

As we mentioned is a previous article, Indian Billionaire Anil Ambani has pulled out of trying to buy Newcastle United today.

Anil Ambani – no longer interested in buying Newcastle United

At least the fact that he has pulled out, may prove he was really interested in buying the club, since we have no real proof of that either. But his reason for pulling out, hardly sounds too good for Newcastle fans.

This is the statement issued by a spokesman for the Reliance Group this afternoon and reported by Sky Sports News:

“We are no longer interested in buying Newcastle because of the turbulent conditions which currently exist there and because we have been unable to have any satisfying talks with anyone from the club.”

They are unable to have any satisfying talks with anyone from the club, is not the usual statement that is put out from these kind of talks.

Maybe they are getting sick of the businessmen who are currently running the club, as are most of the Newcastle supporters.

These so-called businessmen have hardly covered themselves in glory over the last week, as they have completely embarrassed a proud club, and haven’t even had the business acumen to tell the fans what exactly is going on.

In this case – silence is not golden.

Comments welcome.

    a) The board
    and
    b) The fans, statement released to Sky Sports just before the Hull game, maximum exposure!

Come on lads n lasses let the big man know your feelings tomorrow!

    @ TOONPIPES,

Ere cloth heed, can you not read?

This is the statement issued by a spokesman for the Reliance Group this afternoon:

“We are no longer interested in buying Newcastle because of the turbulent conditions which currently exist there and because we have been unable to have any satisfying talks with anyone from the club.”

Get one of your parents, or any responsible adult handy to read it for you, if the words are too long for you to understand.

I do not think that the press release is a hard ball tactic…We have been complaining that Ashley has been invisible to the fans and the club has lacked communication…not even Ambani has been able to have any communication with the club…and the fact that this statement means that they were interested means it was true all along…I can say now that it has been confirmed that Reliance were interested that the club is going down…Fat jabbadahut Ash is looking to close Nufc down…I have bitten my tongue so far with regards to the Reliance rumour as it was not confirmed but now that it has I am seething…as I am sure are all other Nufc supporters….

By Relience putting their intentions out in the open, the ball is firmly in Ashley’s court.

and Relience will be hoping the fans crank up the pressure on him to sell.

Effectively they are hoping we do the hard work in a sence!

I for one am willing to lend a hand and heap any pressure i can on the big fellow.

Bye Bye Ashley .. there is whole load of difference between considering NUFC as one amongst several clubs this Indian has been looking at buying, and actually buying the club … If there had been serious interest they would not have been detered by you and a few of your mates going on a march around the toon …. This guy will have looked at EVERY top-tier club in Europe … i’d say he has done us no favours by even issuing this statement which exacebates an already delivate situation .. what an a rsehole .. guess you taught him everythin he knows .. I hope this statement is just to let the public know that Ambani and the reliance group are interested in buying the club. Now that it is public knowledge it might force Ashley’s hand so to speak.

I hope we haven’t missed the boat on this though.

Ashley was probably brought up as one of those little loners at school who never had any friends…was a selfish fag who stole people’s food…got picked on….and has developed some serious convoluted thought process…he is a selfish pr1ck who needs to piss off because now NUFC the city is gonna be seething…

Good move by Ambani’s team to release the statement just before tomorrow….it will have a big big impact on the demonstrations tomorrow

If Ashley had any true affection for our club, he’d talk to this gadgy, he’s absolutely minted.

He’s worth an estimated 42 Billion dollars (20 odd million quid). With this lads money, he could make us a top 4 team almost overnight.

Ashley’s intrests are in profit, not silverware.

He promised he was here to have some fun & win something.

Ok mate, us daft geordies are really gonna swollow that one arnt we, you freakin fat fool.

Do us all a favor Mike, sell up. Your situation is unteanable & we’ll never forgive, or forget you over this one.

It does seem strange to put out a statement regarding no more interest in NUFC , when they never really confirmed they WE’RE interested in the club.

Surely they could have just wandered back off to Indian saying nothing and the whole thing would have disappeared in time.

But they have issued a statement, which seems there are other motives…….at least thats what i’m hoping!

The “turbulent conditions” will be the bedsheet brigade planning to march around the toon tomorrow….why would anyone want to buy a business where the “customer” calls for a mass boycott.

I wasn’t bothered about this guy buying us and replacing Ashley anyway…but for those who were, it looks like you’ve scored an own goal…

Cant blame Ambani for not wanting to buy Newcastle can yer. Anyone who has sent him emails asking him to GIVE US MONEY has done nothing but give him the impression that the city is full of fools . If you are one of the crass brainless buffoons that have emailed Anil Ambani, then YOU are partly responsible for him rejecting the club.

Good point Sweendog, regarding the lack of manager!

When lets face it they have had plenty of time, even to just start the interviews.

It proves there is a lack of ambition in Ashley or is it just a lack of will?

I think the Entertainers is spot on with his assessment.

Watch this space, we havent heard the end of the Ambani story. If they have maintained silence on whether they want to buy the club up until now, why release this statement today? Assuming the statement is genuine, I believe this is an attempt to put more pressure on Ashley ahead of tomorrow’s protests.

The current turmoil makes the club a more attractive proposition to a potential buyer in a lot of ways because it puts them in a strong buying position

When are we going to know just a little bit of what is going on at the club???

The only one who doesn’t talk at all is the club itself. All the others we were linked with (buyers or managers) have spoken about how they want/don’t want the job or to buy (even if these are rumours). But the club remains silent, very frustrating, cause IMO the fans have all the rights to know what is going on at the club. Cause if there were no fans MA would never have bought NUFC.

Guys, This has just appeared TODAY in the Hindustani Times in India:

“Anil Ambani has reportedly launched a second, more determined bid to takeover English Premier League side Newcastle United.

According to a report in The Times, London, Ambani, who is the sixth richest man in the world, is planning a £260 million bid to buy his ‘favourite’ English Premier League club.

The report also says that Ambani’s Reliance Communications had earlier been invited to make a bid for Newcastle earlier this summer, but did not meet the board’s valuation at that time.

Though Reliance has denied any knowledge of making such a move, Ambani’s company has been, according to the report, “following developments at the club and the team to investigate the viability of a bid”.

When contacted, a spokesman for Reliance Communications denied the report. “There is no such thing as of now,” he said.

Newcastle, which is owned by American Mike Ashley, is a club in turmoil at the moment with manager Kevin Keegan being sacked after only three games into the new season.

If the deal does indeed go through, Ambani will become the first Indian owner of a Premier League Club.”

    Interesting….?

Of course it’s business tactics. Just think about the timing for a moment.
Why would any businessman announce ” we are no longer interested….. ” etc etc at this early stage of the so called turbulent conditions. Mark my words, they will be watching developments very very carefully. Out of unrest comes business opportunities. We have not heard the last of Mr Ambani.

And if he was so easily influenced by the actions of a few football fans, then all we have to do is produce a few banners saying “WE LOVE AMBANI, PLEASE BUY US”. Job done.

Oh, if life were that easy.
