Curbishley Not Contacted Yet By Newcastle

Mike Ashley will have to think about appointing a short term manager at Newcastle, until he can get the club sold.

Alan Curbishley – not approached by Newcastle United

And one experienced manager who could certainly do the job would be Alan Curbishley, who recently resigned from West Ham for the same reason Kevin Keegan resigned, Alan did not have full responsibilities for transfers.

But Curbishley claims he has not been approached about the vacancy from the Tyneside club, and when asked yesterday about any reported interest from Newcastle, Alan told Sky Sports News:

“No, there’s been none whatsoever.” “I don’t know if I’m in their plans or not.”

“At the moment I’m just sorting myself out, as you can imagine.”

Even though Newcastle have the same managerial structure as West Ham, Alan could still do the job for a few months, but we cannot believe he’d want it.

It would seem as if he was going from the frying pan into the fire, and perhaps Alan would like a little rest for a while, from the crazy world of football management.

But we’ll need to find some other experienced Premier League managers who are available.

Let’s think now – hey isn’t Sam Allardyce still available?   😀

Comments welcome.

    Wouldn’t last 15mins.
& i’m getting the feeling that your not allowed to coach the Toon if you’re from south os Scotch Corner. Is that true?
Or has there been a new developement?

It’s obvious we aren’t getting a buyer. I doubt we ever were.
It’s pointless getting another old school UK manager. Right now Zico tops my list and then possibly Deschamps of those realistically available.

What a load of rubbish. Curbishley has just left West Ham for the same reasons as KK. He wasn’t in charge of in and out goings of the playing staff and players sold under his feet. Why on earth would he come to Newcastle to put up with the same. Come on!!! Let’s have some common sense in these articlse. The Daily mail for a start is a joke!

Curbs would do well , face it he was doing well at the hammers until he was shafted , we need an experienced manager who wants a challenge lets face the toon is the biggest challenge i would be happy if we just stayed in the league for the next 3 years in no mans land as long as the team started to gel and a manager stayed

Aye i know all about O’Leary, but was it his fault or a certain Mr.Bates??

Alreet he didnt do well at Villa, but was hardly given a chance was he??

Im not saying i like O’Leary at all,BUT he is better than curbishley at least,I also must stress that this is only a choice between the two of them & NONE of them would be my first choice!!

Therim or Van Gaal would be delicious(Dreaming 🙂 )
Deschamps would also be an exciting option!

Can’t see Curbs doing a good job at Newcastle – I’ve got a few West Ham mates and tey hated the way he had them playing.

I can’t really see how he’s on the short list – he walked away from West Ham because he didn’t have final say on players in/out the club so why would he come to toon

westoon. no it wasnt the fault of a certain mR Bates. I beleive Peter Ridsdale was responsible for budgeting for champions league football.

as for o’leary not being giving a chance at villa.

do you not consider 4 seasons sufficient?

O’leary is a clown! he even cashed in on the demise of leeds by writing a book about them (while still in charge)

Oh God when is this mess going to get sorted?

    I say:
NO NO NO NO NO to Curbishley, only knws one way to play have you forgotten Charlton!!! BORING

    I say:
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO to o’dreary God save us from that forked tongue slimeball.

If, as it appears, there is no quick sale and we are stuck with the current depressing set up, then perhaps a foreign coach who is used to having a director of football dictate everything may be the only solution.

I just keep praying there will be a sale, and then we can get a permanent manager installed.

    What a bloody mess.

The sooner the NUSC is properly up and running and we can all join together under one banner for what we want our club to achieve, the better.

Not being funny or owt, but Curbs left West Ham for the same reason Kev left Newcastle, can’t see him coming up here any time soon. Besides, I want Zico to be appointed, if he gets it I get 300 quid off betfair on a £5 bet!
