Geremi To Newcastle Fans – We Need To Stick Together

Newcastle’s Cameroon star Geremi, has come out today with a rallying cry to both the Newcastle fans and his team-mates, before tonight’s crucial Carling Cup 3rd round tie against Spurs.

Geremi – rallying cry to fans and team-mates

Geremi talked to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle this afternoon:

“We must all give everything against Tottenham in this competition.” “It is one of two competitions we can actually win despite what has gone on this season.”

“I think it is important for everybody to see that right now.” “I plead with our fans to realize how important it is to the club and how important they are to us and that we need them right behind us.”

“We are at home and we need them behind us for 90 minutes.”

The Newcastle boardroom unrest continues unabated, since the Board in their lack of wisdom continue to keep silent on what exactly is happening at the club, which of course doesn’t help anything or anybody.

But Geremi has asked for the Newcastle fans and players to join forces in order to get the club out of the mess it is in right now.

Geremi added:

“It’s so important that we stick together.” “That is what we have been doing as players in the dressing room.” “And that is what we need the fans to do who come to the game against Spurs.”

“It is the most important moment of the season.” “There are a lot of things that have happened at the club recently but we need to stick together.”

Geremi has won two Premier League winners medals in his period with Chelsea and would love to win the Carling cup with Newcastle, and hopefully the lads can play to their improved form after Michael Owen scored at West Ham on Saturday, when they looked a much better side.

Geremi said:

“We believe we can win this game now we are back at home.” “Michael Owen’s goal at West Ham could still turn out to be a little turning point in our season.”

“We needed that, and it is important for our strikers to get goals to keep confidence high.” “The goal was a positive thing.”

These are great words from Geremi, and so very true, because the players are in the dark as much as the fans are with the current Board, who are treating both fans and players alike with disdain and disrespect.

Let’s support the lads tonight, and for those of you who can get to the game, please try to make it – for the good of the players and for the good of the club. 😀

Comments welcome.

100% behind the sentiment – just all don’t forget whose side were all on….. a clue…. black and white stripes.

We’re not anti this or that at the match, we’re up for the lads, the side and the club.

Sing nice and loud and let’s hope there’s plenty Marks & Spencers bag to take the goals home!!

    Howaaaaayyyyy the lads!!!!

Aye, stick together or we’ll fall apart. Throwing a wee fit every now and then and threatening protests isn’t going to work anymore. There’s nothing we, the fans or the players, can do, but stick together, and God forbid if we go down, we’ll go down fighting Newcastle UNITED.

h8 to be negative but whats this with the WE business. Cant remember Geremi busting a gut for our cause!!.
GEREMI you are a professional, getting paid a hell of a lot for what most people do as a unoaid hobby. If you cant play in front of a hostile crowd (not necessarily ours) then you dont deserve to wear the shirt.
