Ed -- did you get the title from the Sun, by chance? The comments don't quite match that lead-in line, imo. There is also the general concern about the basis for anything in Sun, as I don't think Michael Owen gives interviews to the Sun, certainly not any sort of "exclusive". As a former Liverpool player, and a product of the Liverpool Academy, Owen refuses to give interviews to the Sun. At least, I seem to recall reading that somewhere (I think several products of Liverpool's academy are similar). Even Rooney, who was an Everton lad, was criticised for serialising his book in the Sun. So, for everyone, bear this in mind when the Sun claims to have exclusives from players like Owen.

hi everyone....

if you havent already heard about this local group of north eastern business people, who along with a fan based stake in the club...are looking to revolutionize the way football clubs can be run. i am sick of the "sack the board" campaigns, McKeag then Fletcher. on top of that weve fought against being labelled as a "selling club" , or a "yo-yo club" add to that the swivel chair and revolving door antics of our managers (10 in the lasst 14 years...howay) well its crap innit....lets be honest....

so take out ten mins to read www.savenewcastle.com and if that interests you then do plz check the NUFC forum at our local newspaper Evening Chronicle, http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/ the man with the plan is called MAD PETE i know wind up/scam/bull shitter ...its an odd username, but Peter is one loyal and passionate business man whose commitment is second to none. heres the Vision of this consortuim, which is found on the www.savenewcastle.com webpage

Vision
Top flight football clubs in England are becoming increasingly disconnected from their core fan bases. More and more clubs are being bought out by foreign individuals and investment groups which do not have any ties to the local community. Along with this disconnection between ownership and community rising ticket prices are pricing many of the clubs core supporters out of the stadium. Our foremost goal is to bridge this growing divide.
Brief Plan Overview
We are hoping to get 300,000 fans to purchase one share for £1,000.00 each. The proposed foundation would be set up similar to Barcelona's with a European style President. Their would be a presidential election every 3 years. Each shareholder would have 1 vote in all elections. The fans would not directly run the club as qualified individuals would still be hired to run the club.

Note: We are hoping to get backing from several corporations and rich individuals so we will actually be able to raise more than amount directly contributed by the fans. These wealthy individuals will not be given more than 1 share and 1 vote for their contributions.

More Details Coming Soon...

Owen sorted his differences with Kev, he has come out and said he and all the other players were upset to see him leave.

Ex players of the club have described how keegan brings teams together, takes them out for meals & generally raises a great team spirit that makes them want to play for eachother. Look at N'zogbia now for a perfect example, Keegans strength is making the players friends.

He didnt have the chance to do that as England coach obviously, so i reckon thats why hes best as a club manager. I also hope it is this team spirit he's installed in them that they all keep alluding to which will stop our side from falling as it did last season when they were all shouting at eachother for being crap.

Karltoon is right, everyone should get behind the team through bad and good times. A lot of the players have been making statements and trying to drum up support. Lets get people to believing again that we are the best fans in the country again.
If it is truly our club then support it, no matter what Ashley does. Go to the match, cheer the team, but dont buy any merchandise, beer, food etc.... if you want to hit Ashley, but remember want makes NUFC a saleable asset is its fan base, if potential buyers dont see this then there will be no interest.

Jokes aside I really do hope Spurs get stuffed tonight. We all need a good win and progress in this cup run. Hopefully a place at Wembley after Ashley and co are long gone!
