Woodgate – Newcastle Fans Second To None

Former Newcastle United and Real Madrid defender Jonathan Woodgate, has spoken out and believes the Toon Army are second to none when it comes to supporting their team.

Jonathan Woodgate – Newcastle fans second to none

Jonathan talked after the match last night at St. James’ Park to nufcTV:

“We knew it would be a tough game coming here and the first goal was important,” “I think the Newcastle players are a bit low on confidence at the moment but hopefully they can turn things around and start to get some results.”  “Most importantly for the fans because they really are second to none in the country.”

“I really enjoyed my time up here and was very happy and hope to see the club heading in the right direction sooner rather than later.”

It’s a pity Jonathan couldn’t have rejoined us last January, but since then he’s won the Carling Cup with the London side, and in fact scored the winner in the game.

So it was probably a good choice for Woodgate, even though it pains us to say that, and he continues to be remembered with affection by the Newcastle United faithful.

Comments welcome.

Gainyu – He’s a former player and he returned to SJP with his current employers last night.

    It’s not rocket science fella.

Never should have sold him really, even for the amount of money Real Madrid offered.

He was broken for the years we did not have him. Selling him was a good deal and the right decision. Not buying him back was the wrong decision. When we sold him we should have had first option built in to the contract to get him back one day.

good fans? they dont turn up,marent vocal and they turn on the team after a couple of dodgy displays. Woody must still have smog in his lungs affecting his brain.

colo has looked dodgy lately, that back heel he tried last night was comical.

not as funny as geremi stumbling over a 10 metre distance though

broon ale-i sh!te myself when colo gave it that stupid little backheel. yes he starts for argentina but what defender tries to backheel the ball clear on the edge of their own box.
Geremi was hilarious aswell, simple ball across the field to him and he’s stumbling around like a p!ssed idiot after it before ending up on all fours, even the toon fans (those that were there) gave him a sarcastic jeer by the sounds of things.

Another Geordie on SSN making a total mug of himself, and what’s worse apparently he’s a spokesman for the “fans”(?)!!!

Steve Wraith – Players Inc. Mag Editor (does anyone read that?)

Anyway – apparently this whole “cockeneye mafia” thing was made up by the press (who are also naughty cockeneyes I suppose) – apparently the Geordies love cockeneyes really…

Ok then Steve, so what about the “get the cockeneye mafia out” banner that was paraded around SJP and applauded by almost every single fan in the ground?? Did the press make that up too?

What was even funnier though was his theory that Arsenal base the way they play football on Keegan’s Newcastle team of the mid-90’s.

Yep that’s right – not the great Madrid, Milan, Barca and Ajax teams of old. Not Brazil. Nope, Arsene Wenger learned everything he know’s from watching tapes of the toon according to our man Steve.

Friggin hell – I hope this Steve fella has Sky plussed himsel so he can see what an idiot he sounds.

i idolised woody, had 27 woodgate on 3 of my shirts :s truley a class act…. selling him imo ranks as one of the worse descions… he has been ireplaceable in recent seasons……..its just a shame that our current number 27 cant match jonathan woodgate’s excellence eh?

Woodgate was good business at the time, lets move on.
After watching the Spurs game, the need for defensive help is apparent.
Taylor needs to wake up and play the whole ninety minutes or become the new Bramble.
Colocinni looked a bit shakey, put it down to still getting used to the PL pace. (although to be honest there was little pace in the game)
Bassong , got pace but needs more time to develope.
Theres a certain amount of talent at the club, but have to get rid of the Geremis ,Butts and Cacapas, who looked awfull and should be moved on.
Unfortunately Spidey, Barton, etc are out for various reasons, but the club needs strengthening badly.
If or when new ownership take over its going to take a fair sum to bring the team up to the required standard.
Hope thats soon, as each day the doom and gloom increases for all.

Clearly the best defender we have had in the past 10 years! such a shame he was injury prone but i agree we should have done whatever it took to buy him back as he’s one of the best CB’s in Europe if not the world on his day.
