We have received quite a few e-mails from our readers who say they do not want Kevin Keegan back as manager and that we should move on.
Keegan – do Newcastle fans want him back as manager?
Some of the reasoning we have heard from our readers is that for the second time he has walked out on the club, and the club has suffered badly. And indeed if Kevin comes back it will only be a matter of time before he walks out again, and in the past Kevin has walked at surprising times.
Some other readers want him back because he’s good for the club, good for football and best represents the team Newcastle fans want to see out there representing Newcastle. And of course he’s been successful in the past getting Newcastle high up in the league in the 1990s.
So we don’t know what the truth is.
We are running a poll asking whether you want Keegan back as manager, once the new owners come in.
Please vote (you have one single vote), in the poll to the right, so we can better measure what fans really think.
Thanks.

Comment #41No, absolutely not, the club is bigger than any one man, both Ashley and Keegan are equally to blame. Both should go and stay gone, lets all move on.

Comment #44Another reason i dont want him back:
When the innevitable happens, he quites the new owner and board will be to blame because idiots think it is Keegan FC not NUFC then we will go through this whole thing again with selling the club, turmoil etc.

Comment #46We need someone who wont be a chicken to give our youngsters a chance.
We need someone who can predict the unpredictable.
Keegan is way too much old fashioned manager, who is not on the same page with the modern football.

Comment #50Exactly Hadji, i dont want to see the likes of Kadar rot because Keegan would rather have a worse 34 year old because he has ‘experience’.

Comment #52have said it before will again we have had some good managers since keegans first stint who have failed to do the job
this is because the ghost of keegan lingers large over the club the ideal solution would be to reinstate keegan let him do the job his way one of two things happens we have a good side playing well challenging or keegan walks away again this time there will be no excuses either way will lay keegans ghost to rest

Comment #64Looking at this in hindsight Keegan was a god send for Ashley, by apointing him he kept the wool over the supporters eyes whilst dismantalling every aspect of the club. Keegan must have seen this months ago and by leaving this knowledge so late to walk out has left NUFC deep in shit !!! So now lets put KEEGAN to bed and for god sake look to the future instead of the past, before it’s to late.

Comment #65Dunno if Godsmark, Zamblera or Tozer are really that great.
Kadar, Donaldson, Doninger are probably the ones more to look out for IMO.

I’m not saying that but being undermimed by someone of Dennis Wise’s stature (However small ) would make anyone quit their job.
I do not compare football to real life cause football is fantasy but thats a whole differant subject. All I’m saying is KK quit as a last resort he has no fault in this it was obvious Milner was sold behind his back and nor replaced as promised.MA is to blame he could of rectified the situation.KK would come back if MA wasn’t so loyal to the Cockney Mafia but MA wont budge on this continental setup.
Just out of curiousity is Alan Curbishley branded a quitter? The Curbishley bit is aimed at those who brand the Messiah.I am not blinkered or a sheep but I will remain loyal to the person who converted me to a toon fan.Apologies for the post if its hard to understand I’m half asleep.

Comment #71Once bitten or twice in this case.
Can’t be trusted!
If I were Ashley or any individual, consortium willing to spend the massive ammount of funds to purchase Newcastle I would offer Wenger the salary, funds and control necessary to bring him to SJP. He’s allready on record stating it could be an exciting challenge for the right man!

Comment #73I’m disgusted with this, and i see it as a betrayal of not only Keegan but any decency left in football.
Kevin, because he saw the owner and his henchmen promising himself and thus the supporters control of player recruitment and who to sell renege on a fundamental, honesty and integrity.
He did not walk, he ran out of the door and made damned sure the Newcastle public were made aware of the revolting creeps he was supposed to tow the line with. “shut up Keegan your getting well paid to lie to the Newcastle supporters”
What some of you on here fail to realise is the fact he unleashed your fury against this bunch of crooks, and how do you wish to reward your greatest servant, you want a new manager.
You will never get another man who is more loyal to us the supporters of Newcastle united, for gods sake he may even be forced into court by this creep because he thinks more of us than he does for a wad of cash in his back pocket.
I for one would not blame him if he decides not to return to our club or football again after your show of loyalty to Keegan. Some of you make me sick.

Comment #74Always been the same on here since Keegan left.
The one’s who post the most are NOT KEEGAN fans and think they can change othere peoples minds by repeating themselves over and over again and by being abusive, posts for all to see.
This is a blog not St James’ Park I think the majority of fans showed they would love him back.
NO BACKTRACK from me on this one
KEEGAN should be aloud to finish the job he started.
Comments from Toon Chicken or Toon Pipes don’t bother with your bully boy tactics or bad mouthing me as you both have done for a long time….Like I give a damn.

Comment #80I agree Dave V 100%.Newcastle fans claim to be the most loyal in the world yet turn against a honest man with integrity who put the club on the map.He was the most sucessful manager in recent history understands and loves the fans and delivers exciting football. If your boss promised you certain things and undermimed you how would you feel?KK was right to walk and he has gone up in my estimation to expose the frauds who run the club.I personally am grateful because I fell for it.
