Kinnear So Impressed With Newcastle Player Attitudes

Joe Kinnear has today praised the attitude of his players in the build up to Joe’s first official game as Newcastle manager at Everton on Sunday.

Joe Kinnear – very impressed with Newcastle players this week

The good news for Newcastle fans is that there was a definite difference in the play of the team in the second half against Blackburn last weekend, after Joe talked to them at half time and he certainly seemed to inspire a good few of the lads.

That augers well for Joe’s short reign at the club, but we’ll better be able to gauge his impact on Sunday.

It turns out that Kinnear has been delighted by the response of his players during his first week in charge on Tyneside as he talked glowingly of his players to nufcTV:

“They’ve been absolutely fabulous,” “The first day we trained exceptionally hard.” “I’m obviously disappointed to have so many key players missing but that’s the way it is.”

“We’re working extremely hard and I’ve been impressed with how everything has gone, it’s been plain sailing.” “The players have been extremely receptive and have worked their socks off.”

“They’re a great set of lads, with some good characters in there.” “The important thing now is to bring confidence back and then get on with job.”

Good and wise words from Joe. It’s obvious the lads need a big shot of confidence, and we’re sure he’s been trying his best to drill some confidence into the squad, who after all are so much better than their performances of late suggest.

The sign of a good coach is what he can get out of the players available to him, and we think Joe may surprise quite a few people in the next several weeks.

We hope so in any case. 😀

Comments always welcome.

Just read the Kinnear interview on daily mail web site (terrible paper) with all 42 swear words. Its absolute class – everyone go and read it.

I think Kinnear is trying to create a siege mentality, hopefully telling the players every one is against them and lets get stuck in and show them. This is exactly what we need – the likes of Arsenal and manu use this strategy.

Did anyone see Rosenborgs game last night against Brøndby? Per Ciljan Skjelbred was magnificent! I was hoping we would sign him this summer, but if anyone from NUFC was on Lerkendal stadium yesterday we surely must be looking to sign him in january…
He was all over the pitch and looked unstoppable. Scored a magnificent goal also.

No, the Kinnear interview was NOT class

It was a bloody embarrassment. Read it for yourself

It’s not the attitude of the Newcastle players that I’m worried about. It’s the attitude of our interim manager

if he had of fought it out the fans would have took his side and ashley would still of been in same position. we would of been top 5 by now and everything would have been in place for new buyers – end of

if anyone does replace joe (unlikely this season) theres only 1 man for the job and he’ll take it mark my words ……. SHEARER

his reaction on motd when all the shit started said it all, and he’ll take it im tellin ya

Tjodalf – He looked very lively, great header too. I think he could have done well here, with him being a fan as well.

51times – yes, he would explode under Keegan….he would be something that newcastle never have had before I think…can’t think of any former/current player to compare him with…

Is there any chance that someone might actually try to post a relevant comment in this blog?

Ed is trying to provide a useful forum for discussion here, and all you w@nkers can do is talk about things totally off topic

    Rant over
