Joe Kinnear says he will welcome Joey Barton back into the Newcastle United set-up when he serves the last two games of his six match suspension.
Joe Barton - return may be against Sunderland
Kinnear said today:
“Joey Barton, without a doubt, is one who would be in the Crazy Gang for the simple fact that he’s crazy.” “He is very infectious, just like Danny Guthrie.”
“They whizz in and out. Nicky Butt is the same and we have some really good characters in the dressing room at St James’ Park.”
Kinnear knows it’s important to have some big personalities in his squad, and Barton is certainly one of them – good or bad.
Barton has now served four matches of his latest six-match suspension, and will not get a good reception in his first game back, which is likely to be at the Stadium of Light on October 25, if Kinnear does recall him.
And Kinnear seems unconcerned at the furor surrounding his press conference yesterday morning, when he demonstrated he will not put up with the press writing rubbish about him – although many think that’s their job description.
Joe said:
“All I and my players and staff are concentrating on is Sunday’s game with Everton at Goodison Park. That is all that matters.”
“We had a man in Belgium last night for Everton’s game with Standard Liege and I will be studying his report after training today.”
“I watched the match on television and I also watched a re-run on the video after that.”
Maybe the tirade yesterday against the National press can be used effectively by Joe, to motivate all at the club to get 3 points against Everton, and then see what these guys then write about the team.
Because if Joe and the lads can get 3 points on Sunday, he’s going to become very popular very quickly, that’s for sure.
Comments welcome.

Ed, could you make the Joe Kinnear poll plausible. “Is your Impression Of Kinnear Better or Worse Followng Yesterday’s Tirade Against Press?” With the options yes, no and don’t know it’s somewhat confusing.

What about this about keegan / s africian take over
”
Johnathan Cleland met the 57-year-old, whose resignation last month led to protests which sparked Mike Ashley’s decision to sell the Magpies, in Manchester on Monday evening and was encouraged by what he heard.
Cleland told the city’s evening newspaper, the Evening Chronicle: “My meeting with Kevin went very well. I am hugely impressed with him and I got the sense there is a good chemistry between us and there is a strong mutual interest in working together.
“He is our preferred option, but we can’t make any concrete decisions on the management position until negotiations on our planned takeover are further advanced.
“I think he understands and supports our concept of developing the club organically.”
Cleland’s comments came as the group he leads stepped up their attempts to buy the club.
He revealed his consortium is “80% confident” of managing to push through a deal as up to eight prospective buyers jockey for position.
It is understood Ashley actually valued the club at around £300million and that the South Africans propose to pay half the money up front and the remainder over the following 12 months.

Who knows what line-up or formation the Crazy Gang used?
Geremi, Colo, Bassong, Enrique
Jonas, Barton, Guthrie, NZogbia
Owen, Oba

Be good to see barton back and get some quality in midfield.

Will be good to have another choice for the pitch or bench.
Put that shirt on son and we will support you 100%.

I dont believe it! Barton is a loser. He is a spoilt brat who has abused everyone and everything around him. How many last chances does this guy deserve? maybe another half a dozen?!?!
If Kinnear plays him, it will be a big mistake - even if he plays his socks off.
Why dont we just tell the kids of the Britain that violence and selfishness are just fine… especially if you are a professional footballer.

JK is beginning to grow on me! i love the guys honesty and F**k off attitude!! i hope he sticks to his guns and only allows local papers into press conferances!!
I can certainly see the likes of taylor, butt, gutherie, barton and owen being real motivated by the fella!
Come on the toon and JK, screw the press, MA, Dennis “the dwarf” Wise, LLambias and of course the dirty Mackem _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _!!!
OOOOOrrraaaaaaaaaa!!!

welcome back joey, don’t let us down again. this really is a chance you probably dont deserve, but it WILL be your last chance at our club!!

Bit ironic if Barton - the only real legacy Keegan has left us - proves to be our saviour. It would show to the Keegan doubters that he was right all along

Well, in all this melee one seems to forget about players like Barton.
The prior responses are interesting. These are the same people who wrote hostile lampoons about Barton and now they cannot help but sing his praise now.
I agree he is a good addition during these troubled times. We need all we can get and hopefully his desire to get back onto the good side of the fans him put in great performances and most importantly winning performances.
21 reillers // Oct 3, 2008 at 16:25
Finally, quality in our pedestrian midfield. He did the crime, he served his time..(kinda) so can we just forget about it.
Like it or not Barton is one of the best mids on our team..he is the best. Butt runs his socks off, he tries really really hard but you give credit to that..but I could try to fly a plane and I could pretty much guarantee you it wouldn’t work out much better.
The wee lads screwed up ya, but if it was anyone else at any other job it’d be forgotten about by now.
Give the young lad a break and hopefully he’ll get some quality play into our mid.
All he needs to do now is keep his head down, bite his tounge and work hard and the ridicule will pass.
He’s a good player, he deserves out backing. We need him, it’s as simple as that.

Yeah Ed, the joe vote thing doesn’t work :-
“Is your Impression Of Kinnear Better or Worse Followng Yesterday’s Tirade Against Press?”
If I vote yes what does this tell you? that my opinion of him has changed. It doesn’t tell you how I think. If you put the options as ” I Think better of him” & ” I think worse of him” & “dont know” that’ll work better.
I’m looking forward to getting Joey back, he’s needed at the moment and I’ll have more confidence in the team if we had :
n’zog, barton, guthrie, guiterez in our midfield.
23 Howay50 // Oct 3, 2008 at 17:02
Joe Kinnear, Joe Kinear
He’s got verbal diarrhoea
He couldn’t care less about the press
So who we got to fear.
Toon, Toon Black n’White Army

From Reillers post…
“The wee lads screwed up ya, but if it was anyone else at any other job it’d be forgotten about by now.”
No, he’d be sacked. Simple. If he wasnt a footballer, I have no doubt he’d be in prison.
The footballing nation is laughing at how gullable NUFC is.

To comments #12 & 19,
Both ya get a life…he’s better than the pair of ya put together, and if JK gets him back to his best he’ll be the engine we’re missing right now.
Look how SWP was at chelski, he looked crap…and now he looks a class player again only 4games back with citeh. JB can do the same here.
26 stk // Oct 4, 2008 at 5:12
this guy really has been learning from arsene wenger. he put himself on the line to stop those pointless boring journo’s writing balls about us, he’s been active in training, sensible in his chat. no connection to nufc, but he told those numbskulls to stop writing tripe. that strong will for you. i may be starting to believe or is that just the juice?
whats our thinking on kk? of course he will forever be the figurehead of the enetertainers and for that alone, a legend, but he shouldnt have walked out on the club he “loves”. slightly volatile behaviour

Legend of Jonas that has made my day m8! it’s about time somebody put those twats straight! especially the mirror! for far too long now we have just been a joke for papers to take the mick of, i somehow think that will not happen if Joe sticks to his guns & bans them from the club! what a master stroke, i think this could be the man to sort us out, he’s got more balls than Mourinio! which is mad to say after hearing half the stuff he used to say, lets hope he can pass on some of his fire on to the players & we start to pick up results. I think he will get the best out of Barton too, barton is a passionate player & our midfield needs some fire to it! come back & be our Main Mid Man Joey! JFK RULES!!!
