Joe Kinnear has said he will have to use Xisco a lot during his time at Newcastle United, just becasue of all the injuries and the fact that Mark Vioduka will be out again for a long time, and Ameobi is showing no form whatsoever.
Xisco - will get lots of games under Kinnear
Joe talked about Xisco today and is looking to get more out of the youngster:
“Xisco has not found his form just yet, he probably needs a bit more first team experience. I think, to be honest, he was bought as one for the future,” “In an ideal world you’d probably ease him into the team but because of our situation, with the injuries and everything, we’re really going to have him involved pretty heavily while I’m at the club.”
“He’s a good player and I’m sure he’s got a great future at Newcastle – it’s a great opportunity for him.”
Of course the language barrier has not helped Xisco or fellow new boy Fabricio Coloccini settle in quickly, and Kinnear knows that making any points in the dressing room or on the training pitch, is a new experience for him, since he only had a couple of foreign players while at Wimbledon.
Joe relies more on demonstrating what he wants from the players, although José Enrique has been a big help in translating for him between Spanish and English.
Joe said today:
“Every manager has a way of motivating a player, telling them to do this or do that,” he said. “I’ve told Xisco ‘you’re not making the runs, you’re not getting to the near post – Damien Duff is putting all these crosses in and you’ve not been on the end of one of them’.”“So I stop training and I say ‘Now, why are you there? Why aren’t you attacking that run? Why are you outside the box when you’re job is to be inside the box putting it in the net?’ You can do that with an English player immediately.”
Seems sensible what Joe is saying, and Xisco will be all the better for it, and we’ll see just how much the team, and each of the players have improved on Sunday.
Joey Barton will be back also for the Sunderland game, and hopefully Bedye will be back for the Manchsetr City game, so at least some of our players are coming back.
Comments welcome.

Good stuff. And honesty, he is not close to being comfortable with the pace, and when he is, he can be quite a handful.

I’d love him to get a few good games and goals under his belt as that’s all a player needs to lift him no matter what language he speaks and the same goes for the rest of the team.
It’s been rough for him, what with all the controversy over who signed him and then KK’s departure just after he arrived.
Keep your chin up, lad!
