Kinnear Still Hopeful On Gerry Francis

Joe Kinnear is still waiting for an answer from Gerry Francis on his offer to coach a couple of days a week (Tuesday and Thursday) to help him out at Newcastle United.

Gerry Francis – still thinking it over

Kinnear talked today about the Francis situation to the Evening Chronicle today:

“Gerry is thinking over our offer. I have not been back to London since I came to Newcastle a week past Friday and I have only been able to speak to him on the telephone.”

“But I will be going to London at the weekend and I hope to get something sorted out by then.”

Gerry Francis has also said to open talks with Stoke City to sign on there on a part-time coaching contract at the Britannia Stadium, and of course that would be closer to London for him, and a long term deal, whereas the deal with Newcastle would be for around 6 weeks.

Francis has already been doing some coaching work with Stoke after a call from Potters manager Tony Pulis.

Don’t be surprised if Gerry goes to Stoke, and don’t be fooled when sensational headlines say Newcastle turned down again – it’s those gossip papers having a go at us – again.

Dont mind, think we need to support JK with owt he does …… not sure why you think it will be just 6 weeks .. as mentioned earlier cant see anyone buying this club in the near future .. not a chance .. Everton and Tottenham are also both open to bids .. considering that is an 8th of all the PL clubs, would say could be considered a buyers market – much as it is everywhere ….. considering this and the fact that MA will not take a loss, means the club aint goin to be sold ..

    Stoke City, those hijackers!

They can have him anyway, Gerry Francis has no future at our club. Once the new owner comes in, he will be off.
