Newcastle United Is Just A Mess Right Now – Anderson

With Newcastle currently lying 3rd bottom of the Premier League, and a visit to St James’ Park from an in-form Manchester City side a week on Monday, former Newcastle player John Anderson doesn’t think Newcastle are too good to be relegated this season.

John Anderson – the club is just a mess

Former Newcastle defender John Anderson said today:

“There’s an old cliché that you are too good to go down, but you are never too good to go down.”“You have seen it happen to teams before. Once you get into a rut of losing games, it’s very, very difficult to get out of it. It is very difficult to pick yourselves up and get out of it.”

“I know Joe Kinnear is in short-term, but they need the whole situation sorting out quickly and the players then know exactly what they are doing, who they are working for and who they are playing for, because at this moment in time, they haven’t got a clue.”

“It’s unbelievable for the players. People say it doesn’t get to players, but it does.” “Everything that’s gone on at this football club has got to everybody, and it is bound to have got to the players.

“The club is just a mess, it is a total mess at the moment, and the sooner it’s sold and sorted out, the better it is going to be for everybody.”

We agree that once teams start losing it’s hard to break out of that bad habit,  but that’s why the draw on Sunday away to Everton was such a good first game for interim manager Joe Kinnear.

Not only did it break our run of 5 defeats on the trot, but it got us a point, and we even moved up one place in the league. It will also give the players a lot of confidence for the game against Manchester City a week on Monday at home, hopefully in front of a full house.

And we’ll also have Beye and Gutierrez back – so we’ll continue to look on the bright side.

We have to believe that Joe can right the ship before the new owners come in – and that’s what we have to hope for.

If Joe can do that then he’ll be remembered fondly by the Newcastle faithful, and it will almost certainly reignite his own football management career too.

    I thought we’d stopped losin’ games…
    …Oh wait!..

…As per, this is probably from about 3 years ago or somethin’…Maybe the last time we lost 3/4 games in a row?..

…But hey, apparently, no-one is too good to go down…What a revelation!..

…But if y’have enough ex-pingland stars, you can probably skank it so someone else goes down & you pay a massive fine a year or 2 later…& compensation…

Bet the real John Anderson wishes he looked like that.
I never take much notice of what he says anyway because when he is alongside that excuse for a commentator Mick Lowes ( who years ago was sacked because he was so inept but some clown at Radio Newcastle brought him back)all they ever do is criticise NUFC. Even when we score a goal they try to give 10 reasons why it shouldnt have happened.
I want “local” commentators to be totally biased if they are reporting on a game.

They have ample opportunity to be objective before and after.

Moncur is just as bad although at least the commentator sitting alongside him is truly biased for NUFC.

ronjohno Talking about biased commentators. Gary Bennett, ex scumberland player and now pundit for the great unwashed at Radio Newcastle really takes the biscuit !
He gets on my wick with his sycophantic drivel towards our poor relations on wearside.

Hear KK would consider a return to the club if certain conditions are met.
Personally I think he should go back to his football circus and not continue the circus he helped to create at NUFC.
