Kinnear Enjoys Working With Model Professional Owen

Joe Kinnear believes that Michael Owen will soon return to the England set-up.

Joe Kinnear – Michael Owen a model professional

England, who are ranked 14th by FIFA, won their game fairly easily in the end, against 131st ranked Kazakhstan yesterday, but they made it really hard for themselves.

It didn’t help that the Wembley crowd once again booed the team, and particularly Ashley Cole, who made a gigantic blunder in gifting Kazakhstan their goal, and bringing them back into the game at 2-1.

There was of course no Michael Owen on display, since the Newcastle United striker had been left out of the England squad, never mind the team, by manager Fabio Capello.

Michael is nothing if not a good professional and Joe Kinnear seems to have no doubts that he’ll soon be back in the England fold. Joe told The Daily Express:

“Michael Owen will play for England again, I’m sure about that,”  “He’s the fourth best goalscorer in England. I don’t just mean now, I mean ever.”

“The England manager just wants to try a few new things, but Michael will be in his thoughts, I’m confident. He is impossible to ignore because he will always score goals, it’s as simple as that.”

“Michael will just get on with it and he will continue to focus on his Newcastle career, because he is that type of person. He’s been into training this week and he has been fine.”

“He is a model professional and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with him already.”

Michael could well be the best player Joe has ever coached, and one he can think fondly of, once his management days are over.

But that’s some time off, because Joe is extremely anxious to get back into football management full time, and he sees his time at Newcastle as a great opportunity to show what he can do.

We hope he does very well – of course.     😀

For people who think Aaron Spear has not signed for Newcastle or went back to Plymouth because he was homesick….

I here to tell you that you are wrong, just talked to him on msn and he denied that he went back to Plymouth and confirmed that he is living in Newcastle at the moment

A few months ago, if someone had offered the position where Owen was out of the England squad, yet still fit and scoring in 75% of his matches for Newcastle, I’d have bitten their arm off.

Happy days, Owen’s ours for a bit.

Mind you, JFK’s right – he’ll be in the squad for the finals in SA for sure. Capello will go without him until it gets tough, then he’s in.
