Joe Kinnear Warned As To Future Conduct

The Football Association warned Joe Kinnear yesterday that he will face disciplinary action if he swears in any future public outburst.

Joe Kinnear – warned as to future conduct

Joe Kinnear laid into the press on October 2nd and especially Simon Bird of the Daily Mirror, for some reporting that Joe deemed both unfair and untrue.

It’s interesting that Simon Bird reports on this news today but his piece is very straight, but of course includes the rant, in both versions.

The press conference was meant to be for the upcoming match with Everton but Joe came out with all guns blazing against some of the national press (not all by the way), who he thinks ridiculed him.

Joe is a proud man and has been out of the game for 4 years so was perhaps surprised at the level of negativity his appointment had brought from some in the press. But he made it clear he will not put up with some of the ruibbish that had been reported on him and Newcastle. We’ll just have to see if they take any heed to that in the future.

The FA statement issued yesterday said:

“The FA has received an apology from Kinnear for any offense that his comments may have caused.”

“While he will not face any formal disciplinary action on this occasion, he has been advised that in the event of similar public comments, disciplinary proceedings may be brought against him.”

We don’t condone what Joe said at all, but some of the things that are written by some of the people in the press are sometimes just too ridiculous for words – let’s be honest.

Joe will get used to it.

Comments welcome.

Is it just my imagination, or has the amount of absolute garbage written about NUFC declined massively since JFK’s outburst?

its about time someone from the toon gave the press some verbal.i’m all for it.all they do is lie anyway so how can they take the high ground when someone swears at them.if they printed the truth instead of lying and spreading over exagerated gossip it would never have happened.

He’s been a lucky bunny and it looks as though the FA have looked at the circumstances an provocation when giving Joe his slap.

Good news but he was out of order… and he knows it.

C’mon Joe, we all know you’re a master of many languages, try your Latin on the press, that flummox the……. reporters!!

It wasn’t supposed to be a “public” outburst. LOTS of managers could give Chubby Brown a run for his money during these ‘off the record’ press conferences, Alex Ferguson for instance is just as bad as Kinnear. However they don’t get released as that would be a breach of trust that would restrict access to the club. When Kinnear said that he wouldn’t be saying *!%$ all to most of the press anyway after his outburst anyway, it was going to get published.

Aye, one rule for NUFC, different rule for all the rest, seemingly?..

…Someone explain to me why we need the press?..What good have they done for us…EVER?..

If that interview had been given by Ferguson I dont think there is any way the FA would have done anything about it.
If they are so concerned about swearing why dont they watch Match of the Day and warn every player that can be clearly seen telling referees and anyone in shouting distance to F off. Even the foreign players use the word.
There are loads of things the FA could be trying to put right other than trying to come down heavy handed on JK like this.
