Owen Injured – May Miss Manchester City Game

This is not good news, as the Newcastle club said today that Michael Owen will undergo a scan on an injured groin later today.

Michael Owen – tweaked his groin in training yesterday

The Newcastle captain apparently pulled the groin during training yesterday, and has been given only a 50-50 chance of turning out against Manchester City on Monday night.

Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear said today:

“He tweaked his groin in training so he is a big doubt.” “It’s 50-50 whether he plays for the Man City match.”

“Then we will find out more, we are just assessing the situation.”

If there’s any doubt we should send Michael to Germany to meet with Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck at her Munich clinic. She is the best surgeon in the world on these things, and has already fixed up Owen, Shearer and Shay Given.

She would be able to see if she could do something to help Michael recover quickly, and maybe be ready for the Monday game, although time is short. She’s the doctor that had Michael ready in 10 days about 12 months ago, following the operation on Michael’s groin.

But this is not the news we want to hear, with Michael in good goal scoring form right now.

Let’s hope Xisco’s fired up and ready to hit the back of the net. Can’t help but think JFK will be putting Shola in the starting 11 though.

To be fair, he has a lot of faith in the lad. He looked like a handful during the everton game as well, despite his failure to net. He and Xisco could maybe build a bit of a bond while Owen, Martins, Viduka, Carroll and Smith (for he is a striker!) are all crocked.

To think I was happy that Owen wasn’t playing for England because he always comes back with an injury. How ironic.

Isn’t Oba fit now, maybe he and Xisco could terrorise the City defense with their pace. What’s happened to Fabio Zamblera, anyone know how he is progressing in the reserves?

What a great oportunity lads. We can play Bambi and errrrr someone else up front.

Owen has probably just gone down out of sympathy with England. Once he remembers that he didnt play, he will be fine!!!!!

It would probably be Nile Ranger who would have to step up. He does seem to be the best youth prospect for forwards at the moment.

Howay50: Zamblera looked a bit raw for the 1st team when I last watched the resserves at the start of September…. His 1st touch let him down on numerous occasions

Nile Ranger however looked very impressive….isnt Andy Carroll fit again?

Martins maybe back in the fold….

or we could go with either Xisco or Shola up top with Duff just in behind…Duffer looked very good last night…

I was going to suggest starting with Bambi and Owen and bringing on the cisco kid after about 30 minutes, when Bambi was knackered.

Could be a good chance for the Cisco kid and the Lone Ranger to rescue the day!!!! Save us from the indians lol.

I heard Robinho might be injured too. But still this is a bad news. We can afford to see him miss one game but not one whole month!

He will be gone in January-playing for a struggling team seems to be buggering up his England chances and that will tip the decision.
Players like Owen need wrapping in cotton wool-why not give him the week off?

I’d rather Owen sit out the Man Citeh game and be back firing on all cylinders for the game against the unwashed mob down the road.
Owen and Martins up front, they wouldn’t know what hit them.
