Beye To Start Against Manchester City

Our player of tjhe season last year Habib Beye, the Senegal International will start at right back for Newcastle on Monday evening against Manchester City.

Habib Beye – back from Achilles injury on Monday night

Joe Kinnear told the Newcastle Journal today:

“Beye is definitely back and will start. Oba Martins, we’ll make a decision on him later,” “He has his first training session on Wednesday and did very well.”

“Jonás is almost there but has not had any contact on his collarbone. He looks physically fit but we will not really know until we put him in a small-sided game.”

From what Joe said in his rather subdued news conference for the Monday night game yesterday, he will not play Jonas on Monday but will bring him back for the Sunderland game, as he’s a little concerned he may have brought him back a little early.

But Joe said the decision on Jonas is in the hands of the medical staff for Monday evening.

We do expect Oba to start against City, especially with Michael Owen missing the game with his groin strain and we should still be able to put out a strong side on Monday evening and three points has to be the aim of that game.

Robinho will be fit to start for Manchester City, so the Brazilian will be on show at St. James’ Park, but let’s hope he doesn’t have too good a game.    😀

With Beye and Jonas on the right wing Robinho should have a quiet night at SJP.On the other hand Robinho wont be backtracking to help out his full back when Spidey puts his foot on the accelerator and turns on the Nitro.
Zogs and Bassong on th opposite flank should be able tlo cope with SWP.
The real danger though is thru the the middle where i doubt Butt will hav th positinonal discipline to keep tabs on Elano.
Guthrie,i feel, will have a good game,Kompany wont kno wat hit him.
Duff and Xisco shud start, the spaniard to trouble Micah wit his strength and Dunne has never been comfortable with speed and trickery so Duff should hav a field day.

I’d say start with oba on the bench, see how the game goes then bring him on for the last half hour, don’t want to risk him injuring himself with owen out

Dont risk martins or Jonas. a fully fit Jonas for the scum is the only thing i’m asking for. the lad could make himself a hero, he literally has the ability to cut through their team no bother, he did it at old trafford on the opening day of the season. (being hacked down when in on goal after picking up the ball at half way if anyone can remember?)
same with martins, they wont know what to do with him. if we nick a draw at city, imagine really turning the corner at the stad d’sh!te and putting down the unwashed on their own soil.

Any team with our beloved TAYLS at CB is a useless team.
