Joe Kinnear is right when he says the Newcastle fans can play a major part on Monday night, by helping him get his first win while in charge at the St James’ Park club.
Newcastle fans have their part to play
Joe is hoping that the Newcastle faithful will turn out in large numbers on Monday night, and have St. James’ Park buzzing before the start of the game.
Joe Kinnear has paid tribute to the Newcastle fans today when he told the Evening Chronicle:
“The fans will play a massive part.” “Once St James’s Park is rocking, it is a fantastic atmosphere.” “It feeds back to the players and gives them a boost, a great buzz, when the fans are all at it.”
“We have to make sure we do our part.” “I have to make sure I do my part in the preparation to give them something to shout about.”
“I would much prefer to be in the dug-out.” “I was in the stand against Blackburn but now, after getting to know the players, I am confident of getting a good result.”
“It will be a much better performance than against Blackburn although we did much better in the second half against them and we should have got a draw out of it.”
“I am well aware of the other side of the coin and what may be in store for me.” “But that’s all part of the parcel of the game.”
“I am looking forward to it and getting a good result.”
Joe deserves a sell-out crowd on his home debut, because any thoughts of punishing Mike Ashley and the Board by staying away, are now water under the bridge, and serve no purpose.
And a win would certainly elevate Joe’s status, even though he’s only been in charge of the success-starved club for just two games after Monday night.
But when you’re hungry you’ll eat anything, and when you’re so hungry for success this season, we’ll celebrate any win – big time.
Let’s hope we can do that on Monday night, and have a good win to go to the Stadium Of Light on Saturday – and get another 3 points. If we can win both these games then the City of Newcastle will certainly be buzzing, that’s for sure.
