Kinnear Asks For Magnificent Crowd Support Again

Joe Kinnear has said today that he hopes the atmosphere tonight at St. James’ Park, is as good as it was at our last home against against Man City, when the Newcastle fans were no less than magnificent in their support of our team.

Joey Bartton – likely to start against West Brom

Joe thought the atmosphere last Monday evening was just phenomenal, and he told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle today:

“Joey Barton will start. I’m hoping the supporters will get behind him.” “I thought when he came at Sunderland on Saturday he did very well. He’s a great passer of the ball. He’s got vision, and can score a goal or two himself.”

“His first thought is to go forward, and they tell me his only goal for us was his penalty at Fulham last season. What we would give for that to change tonight.” “I hope the fans will be in the same voice as they were against Manchester City at St James’ Park last Monday night.”

“The Man City experience was phenomenal. The derby was special, but Man City at home was 10 times more so because of our supporters.” “I thought the atmosphere at the derby was second best.”

This is a massive game for the team tonight, especially since the appointment of Harry Redknapp at White Hart Lane no doubt will soon see Spurs climbing up the league table.

But it’s always has to be up to us to get ourselves out of trouble, and let’s start tonight with 3 points.

Howay The Lads!

    NUFC =Joey Barton?!?!?!
Think not! Think the media need to get a life and a new story, i think from now on Joey will be doing all his talking on the pitch and good on him, and furthermore, good luck! As i have said in other posts, i believe he will be a big player for us coming up to and beyond crimbo!

Taylor as Captain? He shouldn’t even be in the team with all the mistakes he makes. Put Bassong in the middle with Colo and give Enrique an extended run at LB. And for God’s sake get Ameobi out! Don’t care about his 2 goals! One was a miskick and my grandmother could have scored the other! What about the ones he missed. He’s a shed. Get rid.

you hear kinnear?? he said bout how much it would mean to him bla bla…so hes defo in the team and looks like hell be captain, maybe if hes captain he might feel he has something to prove and play amazingly…..at least we’ll have a leader at the back for once…as been as given seems incapable of organising the defence…either taylor as captain beye as captain or harper in goal…the only way i can see our defence improving to the standard it needs to be…givens ability to save goals is brilliant…but his organisation command of area and communication is atrocious…

I was expecting this. Given will be even more unsighted now s Taylor’s massive head will have expanded a couple of more feet. I just dont know what we have to do to get rid of him??

taylor can stay…given should go…if the defenders int he way…or in the wrong position…or unorganised, it is because its the goalkeepers job to be COMMUNICATING with them, so if given were to open his mouth and speak, he might not have the same problem…ever wondered why taylor, and the rest of the defence for that matter play better with harper…and why much few goals are conceded with harper in goal…just a thought m8

Paul D. I’m with you. As well as Givens non existent organisational skills, ever seen him come for a corner and dominate the area ? NO. He just stays on his line and does F*ck all then blames the defence when the opposition get a close range header in.

Barton picked to be sent off after 10 mins and really get the crowd going as in Man City Game :0)

On a more serious note I’d settle for a scruffy goal in of Ameobis backside in 2nd minute of additional time to steal it 1-0, though I’d be looking for something better than that. Three point is an absolute must

Started off good, howey the lads etc.
Then the whingers and arm chair strategists had to add their enlightened opinions.
I really dont want to hear, yeah Given is a great shop stopper, but he can`t organize the defence, does`nt communicate etc.
F*****g idiot , do you really think you know anything about the game.
As for Taylor a good young England under 21 captain, wanted by a number of clubs, you just wont leave him alone.
Its unbelievable you call yourself fans but all you do is criticise and in most cases your ignorance is only exceeded by your arrogance.
    A little positivity please.
