D Day For Kinnear and Newcastle Is November 22nd

Joe Kinnear has revealed he expects Newcastle United’s future to become clear after the visit to Chelsea in three weeks time, on Saturday, November 22nd.

Joe Kinnear – wants clear the air talks

There has been a lot of talk about Newcastle being sold but it appears there are no firm bids yet for the club, or so it appears.

This has left Kinnear’s own future very much in the air, and the club’s future up in the air too, but it seems Joe has at least talked to the Newcastle hierarchy. He may even have met with them while he was in London yesterday, but that’s a supposition on our part.

Joe said today:

“I’ve always said I would honor what I do.” “But I know that after the Chelsea match at Stamford Bridge on November 22 it is D-day. After that it will all be revealed.”“It was going to be up to the Chelsea game. Either it will be sold or they’ve changed their minds. We talk after Chelsea.”

“In the short term I will do best but it might get sold under my feet. We’ve had Russians and South Africans but nobody has stepped up. But your guess is as good as mine.” “Myself, Mike Ashley, Dennis Wise and Derek Llambias will all sit down and talk.”

“I have asked if there is a ‘game plan’ if the club isn’t sold. Obviously if I do stay I would like finances.” “We need to have clear-the-air talks. That would be good for all of us. Myself, the players, the fans and everybody associated with the club.”

Joe talks a lot of common sense of course, because he is an excellent communicator and to say Mike Ashley and the Newcastle Board are not, would be a huge understatement. They’re just hopeless at communicating with the fans, ever since Chris Mort left the club.

Clear the air talks can only be good, whatever happens.

We’ll see what transpires but we still have to hope the club will be sold to some good buyers, otherwise the club may be up the creek without the proverbial paddle.

Comments welcome.

Hope wise goes trick or treating tonight and gets turned into a troll. Opps he already is one. Need new owners and manager asap. Not sure about JK full time although he has done an ok job. If he stays will they back him in the transfer market? Why didnt they back Keegan then?

It`s going to be a major problem if Ashley hangs on to the club, as its apparent he is not about to invest in strengthening the team.
We may be fighting to stay up for the foreseeable future.
Hope a deal goes through soon, as the team desperately need re-inforcements.

has newcastle ever been up for sale?
has joe known all along what the situation was,and his he part of the conspiracy?
has joe always been full time manager, and not an interim?
was this joe,s first job to win over the fans then pave the way back for toon shirt wearing fat man?
there seems to be something dodgy going on here.

Ashley probably wants to sell ASAP. However, the global financial situation really precludes a quick sale. It’s going to take time for this sort of thing to happen given the financial realities.

kinnear quotes “all will be revealed”
and “me, ashley, wise and llambias will all sit down and talk then” if we were actually selling the club, then why arrange to talk on the 22nd, they wouldnt have anything arranged now if they were trying to sell???

This is just the greed of My cash lee. Players were not signed in the window because he wouldnt meet the prices. Now the club will not be sold because his inflated price will not be met.
The guy is just obsessed with money and secrecy. Bring back FFS!

We are not sellable until we’re safe from relegation.
Probably loan signings in January and see what’s what in the summer.
The BIG problem is cash is king for quite a few years,4/5, and with a severe global downturn all assets are depreciating, commodities, house, commercial real estate, shares and i think the premiership bubble has burst so Ash might have to take a loss.
Pride comes into his thinking and makes him do stupid things like his HBOS disaster. The HBOS chart showed that whenever the price got to the downward sloping 200day ema the sellers pushed the price down and this happened many times over the last year. Any professional trader would not have put a bet on it going up in price and any ‘normal’ idiot that did only needed to look at the chart and make an easy decision that they had got it wrong. He could have got out at close to breakeven within the first month or so but he decided, allegedly, that he was right and the market was wrong. This is a BIG mistake of rookie traders who can’t take the loss and move on.
Anyway we now know he operates differently to any other entrepreneur that we’ve seen on the telly or read about, a bigtime maverick so he may do the unexpected whatever that may be.

The longer Ashley is at Newcastle, the longer I feel like our beloved club is going the way of Leeds. The only way he can redeem himself is to sell. If he can’t he will have to invest in Jan, and although I like him, I think JK will have to be replaced….but who would stake such an unstable job?

imo we need to be patient the same as ashley does

if it is true(and i am not saying it is or isnt ) that as he claims he isnt interested in making a profit out of us and just wants whats best for our club

then we have to let him do what he thinks is best
dont get me wrong i want this situation to be solved asap but our long term future is at stake

what i would like is some one who can invest a lot of money but his decisions will be vital for our success (which is where fat fred failed)

he (the new chairman) needs to appoint a top class manager who will play good football

also give the manager sufficient time (same could be said for us fans)

should look to invest and develop the academy

so basically steve gibson with a bit more spending power

Look in all honesty JK has only 4 matches left to D day – I’m leaving him alone until then.
I’m like the others who are wary of anything while we have those who are planning our future at Newcastle. But I am please that JK has been able to get the players playing again, and he has worked some magic on a couple of players who were out the door.
I’m also please spurs have done a U turn who were operating a similar management structure to us. It just shows it doesn’t work with top managers.
So, I guess it’s there that my greater concern lies – will we ever get a great manager here again while we have those idiots in, running us?
If Wise and Llambias leave will it make any difference to how I feel towards Ashley – the answer is NO – it would take too long to regain the trust he threw away, he probably has run out of money with his bad gambles he’s made. It would be interesting to find out just how much he’s worth now.

I just want us to be sold..then as a club we can move on..we have been in limbo too long and it makes everything uncertain not just with the fans but players as well.

We need an honest statement from Keith Harris. I also think the new supporters association are right to demand a meeting with Ashley.
If Ashley will not meet them or does not come up with a solution they agree with we intensify the battle for the clubs future.

The more I sit and think about it I think that MA cant sell the club. We have to get used to this idea and see what happens from 22nd Nov onwards. I hope that he can sell but if he cant we have to look forward and hope that he changes the management structure. Christ.

Anyhoo – I reckon we’ll be sold after Chelski – and that a confidential bidder is currently going through due dilligence.

There doesn’t seem to be anything in the news about potential buyers, so either negotiations are well under way or they have all been put off by the price. I certainly wouldn’t bet against Ashley still being here after the New Year.

this is why i tried not to get to attached to joe, because his links with ashley.
maybe ashley has put a high price on the club because he doesn,t want to sell.
joe has dropped the bollock imo,he has played this card too early.
you can see straight through this bull this has got fat ashley,s signature all over it.
it does seem like a typical clumsy ashley ploy, like his crap statement, trying to blame kk etc.
