Joe Kinnear has revealed he expects Newcastle United’s future to become clear after the visit to Chelsea in three weeks time, on Saturday, November 22nd.
Joe Kinnear – wants clear the air talks
There has been a lot of talk about Newcastle being sold but it appears there are no firm bids yet for the club, or so it appears.
This has left Kinnear’s own future very much in the air, and the club’s future up in the air too, but it seems Joe has at least talked to the Newcastle hierarchy. He may even have met with them while he was in London yesterday, but that’s a supposition on our part.
Joe said today:
“I’ve always said I would honor what I do.” “But I know that after the Chelsea match at Stamford Bridge on November 22 it is D-day. After that it will all be revealed.”“It was going to be up to the Chelsea game. Either it will be sold or they’ve changed their minds. We talk after Chelsea.”
“In the short term I will do best but it might get sold under my feet. We’ve had Russians and South Africans but nobody has stepped up. But your guess is as good as mine.” “Myself, Mike Ashley, Dennis Wise and Derek Llambias will all sit down and talk.”
“I have asked if there is a ‘game plan’ if the club isn’t sold. Obviously if I do stay I would like finances.” “We need to have clear-the-air talks. That would be good for all of us. Myself, the players, the fans and everybody associated with the club.”
Joe talks a lot of common sense of course, because he is an excellent communicator and to say Mike Ashley and the Newcastle Board are not, would be a huge understatement. They’re just hopeless at communicating with the fans, ever since Chris Mort left the club.
Clear the air talks can only be good, whatever happens.
We’ll see what transpires but we still have to hope the club will be sold to some good buyers, otherwise the club may be up the creek without the proverbial paddle.
