Its good to hear JFK calling a spade a spade, hopefully Barton will appreciate the frankness and respond positively.

JFK certainly has the experience dealing with so called bad boys from his Don days. My concern is he is relatively inexperienced with star players like Owen and may not have that pull when it comes to keeping the likes of Owen or even recruiting new players (then again that would be down to Wise at the moment)

i think the new owners should go with people who are geordies or has a history with the the toon and would prefer the next generation.

I see the papers are picking up on the Owen leaving story 1 week after i said on here he was off. He is 100% going to be a spurs player in january. Expect the papers to break the story on sunday. The chelsea rumours are rubbish. Would he go there and sit on the bench after leaving madrid because he wasnt playing?

Barton will face a barage of abuse from away fans at every game and rightfully deserved. What he did was wrong and must now show composure to rise above it.

I hope he can, but don’t see this leopard changing his spots; i.e. raised his hands to the Villa player last Monday and could easily have been sent off.

He has so much talent; just hope he takes this chance as the Newcastle fans will back him all the way on the park if he performs!!!!!

areet lads, my only concern with owen going is the fact that even though he doesnt play regularly, when he does play he scores, and the goals he has scored at times have been rather important to us.
he could go on a free, or for next to nowt, so can we find a cheap replacement who can take the chances like he does?
He’s clearly not worth the money we’re giving him purely down to injury and the fact he doesnt play enough, but when he does, he scores, and we’re greatful for it.
