Newcastle United Academy Director and Reserve team coach, Richard Money, is looking forward to his young charges turning in another good performance at Everton Reserves this evening, and make it five games on the trot without a defeat. His Under-18 side have had 6 wins in a row. 😀
Nile Ranger – 17 year-old striker in squad for Everton game
Newcastle Reserves have had a two week break from the action, after they were held by Hull City 1-1 at St. James’ Park on 4th November.
Money, the former Walsall manager, is expecting another good performance from the youngsters as he told nufcTV today:
“I have been very pleased with the players in the past few weeks,” “We’ve got a good blend of a few older lads and a few first-year Academy boys.”
“We spend a lot of time working as a group in training and working on things which are starting to come through in the games.”
“It’s always nice to win and, with some of the players we have, there’s no reason why we can’t win any game we play.”
Newcastle will travel with the following squad for the 7pm kick-off, and we’ll have a report on the game later today – let’s hope the lads can get another win.
Andy Carroll, Mark Doninger, Fraser Forster, Jonny Godsmark, Tamas Kadar, Darren Lough, Kazenga LuaLua, James Marwood, Ole Soderberg, Fabio Zamblera, Phil Airey, James Tavernier, Bradden Inman, Nile Ranger, Conor Newton, Sammy Ameobi
There’s some terrific young players in that squad.

Comment #3It’s been said a few times on this blog, but I have to say that I’m really impressed with the job Money is doing.
I reckon there’s an opportunity here for Dennis Wise. While Money has shown he can manage/coach the youth set up, Wise has shown he can bring the youngsters in.
SO, why not give Wise to Richard Money? Money can continue to run the academy and Wise can be in charge of procurement for the academy? This way, Dennis Wise can continue to do the good work he’s done for us in finding some potentially great youth players, but can avoid the cr*p he’s been involved in with the first team. Suits all parties.

Comment #6If we’d given Wise to money instead of the other way around we’d still have KK here.
