No Newcastle Move For Per Ciljan Skjelbred – Agent

Per Ciljan Skjelbred’s agent has said today that he has had no contact at all with Newcastle United about the young Norwegian star.

Per Ciljan Skjelbred – no move by Newcastle

Reports recently have suggested some deal has been agreed between Newcastle and the Norwegian’s club Rosenberg, but since Joe Kinnear is being given no money to spend in January, it doesn’t seem the Tyneside club will have the funds to bring the player to Newcastle in January.

The player’s agent Andreas Ekker has today denied that any deal has been agreed with Newcastle and told TV2 Sporten.:

“I have heard absolutely nothing from Newcastle,” “I don’t know where this is taken from as I haven’t spoken to Newcastle at all.”

Ekker did admit that several Premier League clubs were interested in the highly-rated central midfielder, including Bolton, Blackburn, Hull, Tottenham and Aston Villa.

If the 21 year-old doesn’t move in January there would still be a chance to get the youngster, who is an avid Newcastle United supporter, to Tyneside in the summer, when we trust that new owners will be at the club.

Lets be honest is any fans really surprised by this ???

While Ashleys in charge, i doubt any ‘signings’ will come in.

Loans will be the best we can hope for!

What’s that LB called that all the football manager people were on about called again? Obravic or Odrobavic or something.. Serbian bloke.. Was watching some immense footage of him the other day, he’s like a ridiculously attacking good defender.. Like Zog if he could defend and attack

we should be tapping up james McFadden! he is absolute quality and way too good to be playing championship football, also hes scottish, so hel have more to do with newcastle than your averagre striker/winger..
i rekon hed jump at the chance to get back into the pl, and he was at birmingham before so hes not gonna be too much of a snob for us is he eh?
proven pl pedigree and could be ours for say 6mill?
    what dyo rekon?

i reckon with Smith/Viduka/Owen/Martins/Xisco and Ameobi we do not need another player in that position.

Karltoon – If you knew about european football you would say Obradovic is known from football manager as he is well known to the major clubs and he is immense.

when are we going to See Nile Ranger get his chance. Surely having 7 spaces on the bench should mean he is on there whenever he isn’t needed for the academy / ressies. looks like a great prospect.

aye but hes a versatile player, and if we’re offloading in jan id gladly see smith/viduka/ameobi/xisco leave at his expense, hes still young (mid twenties i think) and has alot of hunger.

Partizan you’re mental if you think we should sell Zog.

    Out:

    Geremi
    Cacapa
    Smith
    Butt
    Viduka

    In

    Skjelbred
    Turan
    Warnock

Reduces the squad size by 2 but to be honest have we even noticed Viduka and Smiths presence? Ameobi, Xisco and Carrol can provide enough cover for Owen and Martins.

Selling Cacapa and bringing in Warnock means we can have Taylor, Colo and Bassong concentrating on playing in their best positions.

Skjelbred for Butt seems an obvious quality improvement for me and a star for the long term.

Turan in for Geremi is again an obvious quality improvement and would provide back up for Gutierrez, he’s also a star for the future.

With those transfers the only extra cover we will need is for RB. We’d have pretty much the 24/25 squad that would see us stay up.

    Matt…..I,m mental you say!!!

    Ok smartass….let’s wait and see.

If i have to choose who to sell….then Zoggy would b my last choice.
But if he wants to go to a bigger club such as PSG atm….who’s gonna stop him.

Matt agree with all your outs except Viduka , Apparently he he is near enough fit and we would not get any money for him anyhow ,he is out of contract in the summer. We may as well use him for the rest of the season . When fit he can do a better job than Ameobi . I would let carrol go . Mcffaden is the player i would like to see brought in , he is a proven premiership player and will bring goals with him . Maybe we could offer Smith or Carrol in a deal to get him in.

    thank you alex…
smudger and carrol would represent good business for both sides; theyd both get in birminghams starting 11 and mcffaden would be more use to us than both of them put together (weve got ranger as far as youth strikers are concerned)

Let’s start tapping up Kightly in case Wolves don’t get promoted. The kid is class. In fact the Wolves have a lot of very good young talent that I would take in a heartbeat. Problem is they look like they are going to storm the championship.

Usually planted by either the club or agent to elicit bids, notice that theres always interest from other clubs, which drives the fans crazy, (see above)
These stories usually start before each window,
    expect more.
But dont expect any big signings.
