Per Ciljan Skjelbred’s agent has said today that he has had no contact at all with Newcastle United about the young Norwegian star.
Per Ciljan Skjelbred – no move by Newcastle
Reports recently have suggested some deal has been agreed between Newcastle and the Norwegian’s club Rosenberg, but since Joe Kinnear is being given no money to spend in January, it doesn’t seem the Tyneside club will have the funds to bring the player to Newcastle in January.
The player’s agent Andreas Ekker has today denied that any deal has been agreed with Newcastle and told TV2 Sporten.:
“I have heard absolutely nothing from Newcastle,” “I don’t know where this is taken from as I haven’t spoken to Newcastle at all.”
Ekker did admit that several Premier League clubs were interested in the highly-rated central midfielder, including Bolton, Blackburn, Hull, Tottenham and Aston Villa.
If the 21 year-old doesn’t move in January there would still be a chance to get the youngster, who is an avid Newcastle United supporter, to Tyneside in the summer, when we trust that new owners will be at the club.
