Good news from Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear this morning as he says he has no intention of selling Charles N’Zogbia in January.
Charles N’Zogbia – going nowhere say Kinnear
After Charles talked over the weekend of wanting to play for PSG there has been speculation that Joe may give the young Frenchman his wish, and get some 5M, which he could then use to bring other players to the club.
But Joe told nufcTV today:
“I’ve read reports suggesting Charles is a player I’m looking to sell during the transfer window. I don’t know who puts these stories out, but it’s just nonsense.”
“We’ve got a big challenge ahead of us this season and we’re all very aware of that.” “Charles is an important member of the squad and is very much in my plans.”
“You want to add players of Charles’ quality to the squad, not lose them.”
Good words from Joe, and that should also give young Charles the confidence that he is still an important Newcastle player to Kinnear.
It’s also good that Joe comes out and clarifies the situation, because there’s no doubt Charles is a good player and we wouldn’t want to lose him, especially after we lost James Milner to Aston Villa in August.
And Charles’ attitude under Kinnear has been first class.
