Kinnear – N’Zogbia Leaving Newcastle Is Just Nonsense

Good news from Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear this morning as he says he has no intention of selling Charles N’Zogbia in January.

Charles N’Zogbia – going nowhere say Kinnear

After Charles talked over the weekend of wanting to play for PSG there has been speculation that Joe may give the young Frenchman his wish, and get some 5M, which he could then use to bring other players to the club.

But Joe told nufcTV today:

“I’ve read reports suggesting Charles is a player I’m looking to sell during the transfer window. I don’t know who puts these stories out, but it’s just nonsense.”

“We’ve got a big challenge ahead of us this season and we’re all very aware of that.” “Charles is an important member of the squad and is very much in my plans.”

“You want to add players of Charles’ quality to the squad, not lose them.”

Good words from Joe, and that should also give young Charles the confidence that he is still an important Newcastle player to Kinnear.

It’s also good that Joe comes out and clarifies the situation, because there’s no doubt Charles is a good player and we wouldn’t want to lose him, especially after we lost James Milner to Aston Villa in August.

And Charles’ attitude under Kinnear has been first class.

Comments welcome.

Either that or this a sure fire way of driving up the price on the lad…after all Joe doesn’t play him and he is probably one of our most technically gifted players.

Joe doesn’t want to sell. But I think Mike Ashley will look to offload the Zog to get some money in. I would only want Cacapa and Geremi to leave and we won’t get much for them to fund our January transfer spending!

In fairness this story came about as Zog said he wanted away – not because the club wanted to sell.

JK’s tactics and team selections have been pretty much spot on considering everything – apart from leaving Zog out as much. He needs to either rotate him with duff more or play them together – problems sorted.

Dan Toon, you’re spot on, Charles will be out of here in January and mainly because he will attract quite a hefty price as well as wanting to leave himself. This will inflate his worth. He’ll get a few cameo appearances from the bench so as to remind people what he can do whilst also reducing the risk of an injury.

hmm I seem to remember an almost identical statement regarding a certain Mr Keegan & Milner.

Joe should / shouldve played him more. In fairness Joe probably would like to keep him but Ash / Wise will sell behind his back.

and Mr Kinnear’s mouth has a tendency to write cheques that his body can’t cash

If Ash & Wise did the dirty on KK I dread to think how much in the dark Joe is being kept

i’d love to beleive joe, as i want charlie to stay. i think selling him would be ridiculous, he deserves a start. However, as others have pointed out, this stinks of the keegan/milner saga. And if a hero to newcastle in keegan couldnt stop them going behind his back, will they really have any more respect for an interim manager in Kinnear?

KK Forever… your moronic comments really are grating on me now. Have you forgotten how abysmal we were between KK and Kinnear? Like a sinking ship -losing points EVERY WEEK, lynch mob fans boycotting, talk of player mutinies, etc. etc.

Under JK we have lost 2 in 8… With KK it took 8 to get a win… We were unlucky with 10 men against City, moments away from a victory against Wigan….
we outclassed Villa, drew at Stamford Bridge… Shola’s back playing half-decent… Barton situation dealt with as well as possible – (before injury) JK has not been good he’s been a MIRACLE worker in almost impossible circumstances… he’s not a geordie???? Is it 1973 again?? Yee complete eejit… who do you want Steve Bruce? Shearer? ‘cos he wazza cushty playa, aye..

Those people moaning about JK – it’s not like we went from the Halcyon days of SBR’s CL team to this…. we were nose-diving have you forgotten that? Did you expect JK to have us in a CL spot by now or something… we aren’t even playing negative football like everyone worried about- infact probably even more fluid than under KK last season.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say if KK the yellow belly came back and begged for his job back – with Shearer as his assistant – I’d tell them both where to go. Shearer go and learn your trade like a man with Crystal Palace or some place before you take the reigns at SJP. JK should be given the season out… because he’s restored some normality to our club… I still can’t believe how well he’s done to be honest.
The fact that everyone’s talking about Arsenal now is down to some pretty astute leadership by him….

JUST KEEP ZOG AT ANY COST PLEASE!

joe k is off his rocker i feel. what does he mean ‘ i dont know who starts these stories off’ blah blah. well, in this case it was zogs himself saying it, not just generally but he even said he wants to go to psg. jk needs to wise up a bit, does he think we are all stupid. zogs will be gone along with as many others as ashley can offload, he is after all stripping us of every asset and it looks like he is preparing for life in the coca cola league. i wonder how coloccini and martins will enjoy popping of down to scunthorpe to play infront of 3 thousand and other similar grounds? chirst we are well shafted here, right between a rock and a hard place. i detest ashley more than anything else i can think of.

If anyone remembers MA’s statement when he declared he was selling the club, he said that KK wasn’t meant to talk about prospective transfers.

Now either JK has followed KK and gone outside his jurisdiction, JK has been given more rights to manage than KK was or MA was talking out of his rear again.
