Joe Kinnear is hoping that his friend Arsene Wenger of Arsenal will loan him some players in January, and especially Brazilian midfielder Denilson and Alexandre Song of Cameroon.
Denilson – no chance of a loan deal?
But Arsene is having his own problems with football management right now, and unfortunately Joe has been told the loan deal is just not going to happen, as he talked to the Evening Chronicle today:
“I was looking at the situation regarding both Alexandre Song and Johan Djourou at The Emirates.” “However, I notice both played for Arsenal when they beat Dynamo Kiev last night, so I know I was wasting my time thinking about these two on loan.”
“I can understand Arsene Wenger not wanting to let Denilson go either.” “What I cannot understand is the criticism coming his way from some Arsenal fans.” “He has done and is still doing a fantastic job at the Emirates and he is probably the manager I admire most.”
“He has implemented a youth policy at Arsenal which is the envy of teams all over Europe, and it is something I know our director of football Dennis Wise has already started to get up and running here at Newcastle.”
21 year-old Alexandre Song is a good player, and he doesn’t play often enough at The Emirates, but you can say that about a lot of the Arsenal players. If we could somehow get Song to Newcastle, he can play center back, right back or defensive midfield, and is a very good young player.
Alexandre Song – flexible and good defender
But with Arsene Wenger having some problems of his own with his Arsenal line-up, we’d be surprised if he wants to loan any of his players out in January, as he probably needs everybody he can use, for the rest of the season.
