No Chance Of Getting Song Or Denilson From Arsenal

Joe Kinnear is hoping that his friend Arsene Wenger of Arsenal will loan him some players in January, and especially Brazilian midfielder Denilson and Alexandre Song of Cameroon.

Denilson – no chance of a loan deal?

But Arsene is having his own problems with football management right now, and unfortunately Joe has been told the loan deal is just not going to happen, as he talked to the Evening Chronicle today:

“I was looking at the situation regarding both Alexandre Song and Johan Djourou at The Emirates.” “However, I notice both played for Arsenal when they beat Dynamo Kiev last night, so I know I was wasting my time thinking about these two on loan.”

“I can understand Arsene Wenger not wanting to let Denilson go either.” “What I cannot understand is the criticism coming his way from some Arsenal fans.”  “He has done and is still doing a fantastic job at the Emirates and he is probably the manager I admire most.”

“He has implemented a youth policy at Arsenal which is the envy of teams all over Europe, and it is something I know our director of football Dennis Wise has already started to get up and running here at Newcastle.”

21 year-old Alexandre Song is a good player,  and he doesn’t play often enough at The Emirates, but you can say that about a lot of the Arsenal players. If we could somehow get Song to Newcastle, he can play center back, right back or defensive midfield, and is a very good young player.

Alexandre Song – flexible and good defender

But with Arsene Wenger having some problems of his own with his Arsenal line-up, we’d be surprised if he wants to loan any of his players out in January, as he probably needs everybody he can use, for the rest of the season.

I thought we wanted ready made players! These are good prospects for the future, but they aren’t first teamers. I can’t see any of them being loaned out. Would they get into our team too, they would just be used as cover! With Butt, Barton and Guthrie fit, Denilson wouldn’t play. I’m sure Wenger doesn’t want this either.

Loans are good moves, as you are not paying a full on transfer fee, and gives you a chance to look at a player properly. If we signed Gonzalez properly, people would be fuming that we bought a player that would be injured for a full season (and not that good anyway).

We want to buy kids anyway, Song, if we bought him, we’d have a new defensive midfielder, somebody young and talented to take over from Beye, and a stand in centre back. He’s got experience at one of Europe’s best club.

Why don’t people just wait to see who we buy and judge Kinnear/whoever buys players at the club afterwards? You sound ridiculous criticising people over speculation.

Denilson didn’t particularly impress me last night. There’s no doubt we need a real creative spark and an out and out (young) defensive midfielder. We need the creativity for the dangerous passes through to Owen to latch onto and score, and we need cover and a person to slow the game down and get physical.

I haven’t seen enough of Song to comment on his abilities, as for Denilson, I feel he is inconsistent yet tallented. From what I have seen from Kinnear so far he seems to have a tallent for bringing the best of a players ability out. See Shola for evidence of this. In an ideal world I would love to see some of the names bandied about on here in toon tops, but I suspect we will operate to such a restrictive budget I believe it will be impossible for us to sign even Warnock and Samba which some sources suggest are done deals. Lets face it, we may be looking at old duffers for cover. Lets hope we can at least blend it in with a smattering of young blood.

I really don’t understand where this Samba story is coming from, when we have Coloccini (Argentine international), Taylor (England U21 captain), Bassong (French u21 international) and Cacapa (rubbish).

Assuming Cacapa’s away this year or being sold, I really don’t understand why we’d have 4 centre backs good enough to be in the first team.

Fair enough competition can be good, but can also make a player feel unwanted (like we all know N’Zogbia truly feels like). Plus Bassong was top class against Chelski last weekend, why would we spend millions on a new centre back?

I can understand the Warnock story, and we do need an experienced left back, hopefully him or Riise.

The Beat I know finances will be tighter than ever…like they have been for many windows now..we will sell most defiantly…I can’t see the club as a whole attracting any players I would lose sleep over..just hope we have the balls to battle for prem survival this season.

Ghaly is crap, he’s a sulker as well.

Abou Diaby should be a target, he’s a great prospect for the future and he knows the PL.

    Given;
    Beye, Bassong, Coloccini, Enrique;
    Barton, Guthrie, Diaby
    Jonas, Viduka, Martins

I also feel Denilson was superb yesterday considering he was playing on the LW for the majority of the game.

Your negativity is pathetic, grow some stones, stop wingeing and get behind your team, i bet your one of the first jumping on the band wagon when things go well!

I think loaners are the only way we’ll get people in to play. No-one will join permanently given the current uncertainty surrounding ownership of the club, so we’ll have to make do until the club is sold and a possible rebuilding in the summer. Yet again its another season written off before January.

But the draw at Chelski should have given the manager a good idea what his best defensive formation is, so tinker with the attack and midfield and we can show we have the quality to stay up. Viduka fit will give us another dimesion and Owen fit should get 8-12 goals this season.

We are the geordie’s….. etc etc

Players we can *try loaning from Arsenal,

    1. Henri Lansbury
    2. Mark Randall
    3. Fran Merida

    *Note the word try

They are fantastic players and I doubt they will have a chance at first team football this season at Arsenal. Maybe Wenger might be interested in loaning these players to us.

Unfortunately we need to be looking at the lower leagues. No established premier league players are going to join us unless we do something special from now until Jan and climb the table.
I still take a gamble with Giles Barnes from Derby. We were after him last season, so we should go back.
Players may come on loan because it is less of a gamble for them. They’ll join us for regular 1st team football, but if we don’t climb the table then they will just return to their old club.
Also don’t dismiss the possibility of getting some Pompey players in. They are in the same position as us. Owner desperate to sell, crap manager in charge. The only difference is that they are higher than us in the league due to their better start to the season under ‘appy ‘arry.

No chance on Diaby…I’m also a fan of Ghaly, I think he has a lot to prove and possesses terrific ability.

By the time we’ve all got over this whole “Cockney Mafia” we might begin to see the fruits of the Wise regime coming to bear. I’m secretly hoping MA talks himself out of this whole, wows us with 3-4 more astute buys in January, resigns Owen & Harper and begins restoring the Geordie faith!

I reckon Joe wants a CB,LB and midfield.
Have Taylor,Bassong and Enrique as reserve defenders (Taylor’s best game was as RB at Everton).
Will let go Cacapa,Edgar,Carroll,Smith? go if any takers.
Does he rate Colo as i can’t say i’ve heard any comments from Joe. We’d be miles better off if we could replace Butt with a better player as he is just a liability, too slow and therefore can make poor tackles, can’t cover etc.
Liverpool will sell or let players go on loan as i’m sure RBS will be giving them pressure to repay at least some,if not all, of the loan.
