Charles N’Zogbia To Get Start At Middlesbrough

It turns out that both Shola Ameobi and Damien Duff will now miss Newcastle United’s game at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Charles N’Zogbia starts on Saturday at The Riverside

Ameobi is suffering from an ankle knock picked in a training-ground accident this week, and Duff has another groin strain.

But the loss of these two players will not impact Newcastle too much, because the injury to Duff will let Frenchman Charles N’Zogbia come in and show Joe Kinnear what he can do. The 22 year-old has looked good in his last couple of substitute appearances.

As far as Shola goes, Mark Viduka is now back and likely to be on the bench for the Middlesbrough game, so with stars coming back these two injuries are not as bad as they could have been just a few weeks ago.

It will be good to see what N’Zogbia can do against Middlesbrough.

In last year’s game Charles hit that wonder goal when he cut in from the left wing and hit a wonderful right footed shot past Mark Schwarzer in the home goal. Charles played left back in that game.

Maybe the same again tomorrow?   Hope so

dont think we have scored from midfield this year in prem.kinnear might be reminding our attack minded ones of that.the zog has more potential than any of the others to grab a goal.so i hope he starts.

No need to turn to the source…. Duff’s a loss but I’m sure we can still win.

After a bright start Duff has faded recently (not enough for him to pack his bags!)

I will be nice to see Charlie put in a shift and prove his worth.

Wouldn’t be suprised if JFK played Geremi on the right and Jonas on the left, but I seriously hope not.

Lucabrasi! Correct me if I am wrong but aren’t you with the fishes. 😉

I didn’t think Duff had been to bad so far this season, the big thing that worried me about him was that after making a run or some other big effort he looked very winded. I seem to remember some comment to the effect that he had an underlying long term health problem so charging up and down the wing may not be his best position anyway. I’d still like to see him tried at LB where he wouldn’t need to be quite so active.

The good thing about injuries when we have a bigger (not big though) squad it gives others a chance to show what they can do. Be nice to see someone like Ranger get 20 minutes on the pitch.

Hope Charles is midfield and not left back. I would rather have him there than Duff. He has every bit as much skill but is much more direct and not afraid to shoot.

Selly no skill…. We have one from midfield… duff against everton. Miserable stat… need a goalscorer in the the middle… get on it JK.

This COULD be potentially great news BUT – like Tom_Toon said, Geremi tends to get the nod too often!

One thing that surely won’t go unnoticed is last year’s goal of the season – by N’Zogbia, against Boro…If both him and Jonas take the flanks boro are gunna be bricking it! Downing isn’t exactly the most defensive of players so their more central midfield men are gunna drift out, leaving big gaps through the centre – if this does happen, then switching to a 4,3,3 with Owen playing as the link up man could be the ideal option!

Attacking football is a must tomorrow!

Oh I remembered that right foot shot from Charles. Absolutely delightful goal from him.

Hopefully he will repeat again — this time TWICE!

That way we’re defensive, give Guthrie a run out and dont risk Viduka to much!

Without any disrespect to duff, in my opinion Kinnear rates him too highly. I would much rather see the Zog of old, although inconsistant, slicing past many of the premierships experienced right backs.

If Damien’s out for a few games, then it’s Charlie’s time to try and prove himself.

Btw, does anyone know of a website that I can watch the newcastle game? Oh, and if it’s free? I really wanna try and catch the games, but the local TV channels jus shows the ‘big’ games.

Help out a fan here! 😀
